If you are really helping the newbie why not pay more since you will earn more from the traffic . help ?

We don't make money from the traffic.  If you know a way we can, I would love to hear it Wink

I'm buying this for my ceiling when I'm rich

Smiley

Thank you.

Also got few times 504 error, some non-sense JS pop-ups during the game.

It's a fun one, but need some more coding, not only traffic Smiley

504s are fixed.  If you grab a screenshot of the JS error and send it to me at admin@moocoin.com, I would appreciate it!

Thanks,

45  Bitcoin / Development & Technical Discussion / Re: How to calculate Total Network Hash Rate? on: February 12, 2014, 07:32:44 PM
I'm trying to understand how to calculate the total network hash rate for a coin.
The only thing I could think of was taking the average time that blocks are being found and derive it from that.
Is there any other way to do it?

My other related question is what is the formula that is used to compute difficulty, or actually projected difficulty?

Check out the "hash_rate" field here:
https://blockchain.info/api/charts_api

I don't know how they calculate it, though.

This is a good idea and it's a lot like Bitlisten but the problem is now that cryptocurrencies have become so big the transactions are slowing down my browser constantly and it can't keep up.

Sorry!  I can add a slider to control the number of stars generated per btc transacted.
If you run it in the background, you'll still hear the sound of the network but it pauses the star generation so your machine doesn't use CPU drawing stars you aren't looking at  Smiley

The second in the BitSonata series:  This is "Space".
Space.BitSonata.com

The background ambience represents the hashrate (though they are not linked).
Stars are placed based on transaction velocity and size.  They are joined by Tibetan Singing Bowls.
A Tibetan Deep Chant signals a new block on the network.

I hope you enjoy this sequel to Rain.BitSonata.com.

More to come,

I guess it's interesting, though not entirely practical. Where are you getting the data from?

Yea - It's not meant to be practical  Smiley   I use it as background ambience while I code.

I get the data from blockchain.info.

May be look for some partners who can invest $$/BTC , people like me can only give you ideas , hire a programmer because acc/ are required there is not much coding for that, atleast signing in just with BTC address like all those btc faucets do is the minimum requirement.

There are accounts.  As soon as you go to the site, you get an account setup for you automatically.  It's just a lot simpler than what you're used to.  I don't need your email or password.  Just make sure you always go back to the same URL and you'll be automatically logged in to your account.  It's a method that many bitcoin related sites use.
The reason we don't ask you for an address to use is that by controlling the address pool, we can do off-chain transactions.  Otherwise, we couldn't offer games at the micro-levels we do today - the miner's fees would make it impossible.

Thanks for the feedback.  We're always looking for ways to make the site better, and how it works more clear!

It's fun Smiley

Next goal should be to get some more traffic Smiley

So good luck Smiley
Yeah a little exposure and this site have the potential to attract members. can admin afford the signature campaign, or other form of advertisement here nd there , one thing i'll suggest is to let members create acc/ because every time i visit your site my bal. turns to  0.00.?

An account is created as soon as you go to the site.  Just bookmark the URL and when you come back, you'll automatically be logged back in to your account.  Also, don't share your URL with anyone, because that's your credentials!

I'd love more exposure to the site, but I don't have a ton of money to pay for the ads on this forum.  We have a referral program.  Whenever someone signs up on your referral code, you get 10% of the fees we collect from them, for life.

We need to find some way to get traffic.  Once there are enough people online, the games will be a lot of fun.  We're also adding a third game right now - Our best one yet!

Thanks,
MooCoin

Thank you both.

I'm also looking for feedback.
- What themes would you like to see?
- What controls would you like over the experience?
- What aspects of the blockchain would you like to see visualized?

If you want to do me a favor, please upvote the reddit thread, as well.
If you want to do me an even bigger favor, go check out my other site:  www.MooCoin.com

Thanks!

I plan on doing a series of these, themed in different audio-visual experiences.  Here is the first:
www.BitSonata.com

The rain represents the hashrate (though they are not linked).
Thunder and lightning  represent transactions, and scale based on the size of the transaction.
A howling wind represents a new block on the network.

I hope you enjoy.  More to come.
