424  Economy / Services / Re: Hiring - Java Programmer on: March 24, 2014, 04:56:38 PM
I have a program that needs writing using Java. The price i'm paying is $65(in BTCtc).
The programmer must be familiar with aspects of the language such as ArrayLists, Stringbuilder, toString etc.

Damn. So any Java programmer who's never heard of toString is automatically out?  That's pretty harsh.

Also, 65 bucks?  That is a very specific lowball bid! Don't you mean $50-$100? That's how you attract a 13-year-old kid to write your bitcoin exchange.
that's a joke right?

you are asking for 720 000$ for a business that only makes 18 000$ a month.
That's a return investment of 3.33 years. Are you out of your mind?
Man, have you ever made a business? 3 years is pretty good to get "your satisfaction".
3 Years is a deal breaker. Its not 3 years until you get you are satisfied with your investment, it is 3 years until you see a penny out of it.
And with bitcoin volatility this is quite the gamble, This website you offer doesnt even have 3 years of history, its not stable. It is just recent that bitcoin went up in price, we really don't know what will happen with bitcoin 3 years from now.
Also, is your profit before or after taxes? and what about costs? what are your monthly costs?
if you really want to sell it, you need to be transparent with all the information before any potential customer can look at this seriously.
I'm just letting you know my perspective.
- Your evaluation is ridiculous
- You need proof of your statements, some traffic statistics would be good to have too.
- Whats the income and outcome of that website? (Cost and Profit)

427  Bitcoin / Project Development / Re: $200 in BTC prize. What is bitcoin? How does it work? Writing contest on: March 20, 2014, 07:16:14 PM
if you want everyone to understand it, may I suggest no minimum amount of words and allow graphics ?

Graphics are perfectly fine, the word count is for SEO purposes, without it there is no point in investing tens of thousands into a website, 800 words is not a lot of words, the average paragraph is about 350 so its really a 3 paragraph article. If you spend a paragraph on "What is Bitcoin"? and two paragraphs on "how it works" you are pretty much done.

We are all for graphics if you want to include them with the article. We would need a copyright release form for each one though.
its not about how many words we can write, personally I can make a whole monograph about bitcoin functionality.
It is about how much time people are willing to invest reading an article about bitcoin.

http://globalfreemarkets.com/api/bugs/
your server does have the serving directory functionality which is immensely dangerous. (makes web crawling really easy)

your 404 redirection is broken in some specific addresses:
http://globalfreemarkets.com/api/
goes to http://globalfreemarkets.com.com/

your wp-admin file is not hidden and it is open for bruteforce attacks or wp vulnerabilities exploitment
http://globalfreemarkets.com/wp-admin

just a couple of minutes of pentesting and I came up with all that.
I'll place it in your bug report interface too.

edit:
the save button in your interface doesnt work. but pressing enter in the BTC address text box sends the GET.

430  Other / Archival / Re: Buying - Bitcointalk forum - Hero member ID & Pass on: March 13, 2014, 06:03:19 PM
If this type of transactions continues bitcoin talk will loose credibility, because scammers can buy sr member account and do anything with it.

The mods have already said that while they do not condone it, they aren't banning it for the sheer reason that even if it was banned it would still be quite easily possible to sell accounts without much knowledge of the mods/staff. So they allow it so that it's easier to be transparent and know who is doing what.
that's dumb, it is easy to know when an account has changed owner if you have access to the server.
you can make an IP log and make an automatic system that judges if an account usage location has changed or not. (a very simple neural network could do this easily)

nice Cheesy

one more thing, you should remove the solved tombs from the public list or at least give the option to filter them out.
432  Other / Archival / Re: Buying - Bitcointalk forum - Hero member ID & Pass on: March 13, 2014, 04:23:00 AM
I am looking to buy unused/spare  Hero Member ID & Pass ( bitcointalk forum) . PM me your offer.
:/ buying hero status, a mod should be aware of this. This is extremely suspicious.
just sayin'

434  Economy / Currency exchange / Re: Selling BTC for Prepaid Cards/PayPal (0.5 BTC) on: March 12, 2014, 06:00:47 AM
You could always use BitSimple.com rather than take a risk with a noob buyer.
most people asking for BTC <-> Paypal trades are not in the US.
435  Economy / Services / Re: Logo contest on: March 11, 2014, 11:52:13 PM

I can say it. Not a single entry on this "contest" can be considered a logo, and absolutely no entry in here meets any professional standard on the making of the product.
This logo contests are a shot in the dark, since you can't work out the product with the client, since that requires commitment. Commitment for a chance of getting paid is something no professional should do.
And since the prize is so low in here, its not even worth to give it a try unless you are working on free time. (something along the lines, I could relax and maybe watch a couple of youtube videos after a tiring day, or I might as well just do a design for that contest if I feel like it)

Alright first of all there should always be specifically mentioned guidelines/requirements from the buyer in order to get the exact design needed. It was mentioned earlier here that there is no specific requirements to be taken care of. Anyways as far as you are not the buyer i hardly care what you say about my work, indeed i would be very pleased to see your design so will be waiting for it to get inspire by your professional design  Cheesy

you should take in consideration that you can't do graphic design with no specific requirements. Its all about conveying an idea through graphics.
When making a logo, you have to work out what the client wants to represent with the company and only after coming up with a concept, start sketching and refining the logo. (all you need to do is ask, but no one has done that. No one asked the client for details about his business and why does he think that balloons would be better for his business image. I could even suggest a name change if it is not appropriate for his business, but that kind of advice and commitment is not cheap)
If you are truly interested in looking at my portfolio, here you go. http://gogodr.deviantart.com/gallery/47226040
I have some logos I have designed before in there. I also do 3D modeling which you can see if you browse deeper in my deviant art.
436  Bitcoin / Project Development / Re: Help with Javascript and Github Pages on: March 11, 2014, 11:07:31 PM
I'd go with gogodr's solution, it'll be the simplest for you - BUT ONLY IF you just request public ticker data, you should in NO CASE send private user-data (passwords ect...) through 3rd-party proxy-services.
If you want to read more about JSONP and how to evade the cross-domain issue for JSON-requests, you can take a look here: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/JSONP (or google for JSONP)
Thanks to gogodr, that should work just fine, and of course I'll only be using it for non-private information.

The only other thing to be careful of is that you're now putting yourself in the hands of whateverorigin: they could send back false or even malicious data. Not that I have any reason to suspect that they would, but it's just something to think about.

If you whant to make a site that would display API data from multiple exchanges and display it to the user use php better!

He could still be using PHP; he just wants the client to load the information instead of doing it on the server.
if that ever were to happen, they have their whole project open sourced. Anyone can take the source and make his own whateverorigin.
There are a couple of limitations though. you cant POST or GET parameters using whateverorigin.
437  Economy / Services / Re: Logo contest on: March 11, 2014, 11:01:19 PM
There are some very talented designers on the forum, and not one of them have submitted anything  Undecided
I would suggest increasing the bounty and extend the deadline.

So by saying that here you mean that none of us who have participated in this is worthy enough or talented enough Huh alright how about we see some of your work then Huh?

like its been said ' its easier to be said then to be done'

choose your words correctly the next time.

I can say it. Not a single entry on this "contest" can be considered a logo, and absolutely no entry in here meets any professional standard on the making of the product.

say, if I'm confident enough of my maze I want to be able to make a maze with a 0.1 BTC bounty and 0.001 fee

daww.. someone solved my maze. Gratz whoever did it Cheesy

Gogo Maze
bounty:1841.7µ฿
fee:120.25µ฿
29 tries until solved
Total Earned Fees: 3487.25µ฿
439  Bitcoin / Project Development / Re: [BETA] btctombs.com - Solve or create interactive mazes to win or earn Bitcoin on: March 10, 2014, 04:48:06 PM
yeah, but setting the example:
I feel that my maze is really challenging and giving it a better bounty should be a good incentive for people to give it a try or more tries making me earn more fees.
I think the current bounty is ok for plain mazes with no complex mechanisms or clever logic tricks, but it should be a minimum set and not a fixed amount. it shouldn't be hard to implement it.
To properly set a bounty of a maze you should make an algorithm that explores all the possible moves and solutions and evaluate how many paths bring you to losing and how many to win and the branches in the path.
It is a quite complex algorithm, so I think you might be better by letting the creator set the bounty.

its just a suggestion though.
440  Bitcoin / Project Development / Re: [BETA] btctombs.com - Solve or create interactive mazes to win or earn Bitcoin on: March 10, 2014, 03:15:05 PM
Just a little feedback, I think we should be able to set the treasure size and have your current amount be the minimum treasure for the maze.
I made my maze like a mini puzzle game so it should be extra difficult. I feel that the treasure is too little.

Name: Gogo Maze
Treasure Size: 1613.23µ฿
Fee: 120.25µ฿
# Tries: 9
Total earned Fees: 1082.25µ฿
