Yes many ico's are scams they build a fake website and taking advantage their knowledge in crypto to scam people who don't know very well in crypto so peoples are scam. Nowadays it's hard to get a legit ico to join but research is the key.

I asked Ilfar as well, do you also have any good reputable  sites for research?
3  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: 80% of ICOs are Scams on: April 12, 2018, 04:36:37 PM
Those people who have more or less understanding of project evaluations can easily avoid scammers. The other thing is that most people are still naive and continue to believe the loud promises.

Ilfar do you have any links for checking ICO ratings? ..preferably sites with really good reputation:)

The securities exchange commission. This is the agency that could bring down nearly every ico project in the future. This is a very pacifistic view point but I'm trying to play devils advocate. If you go off the Howie test which is the test of choice for the SEC pretty much all ICO's are securities.

I've read several articles on this exact issue.  The SEC definitely had their eyes on ico projects since 2016... I held onto this link. Curious what your thoughts are

Ethereum is a centralized ico coin which is less popular than bitcoin, so buy btc  Tongue

I've been learning so much just within this blog alone and it looks like a centralized ico coin has more use in todays market.. so it's a good reason to have a little more ETH next to your BTC;)

Ever heard of Yobit? Yobit.net is the right place to find the listings of potential coins and their value and market volume so you'll be able to make informed decisions as to which one to invest in.

Thanks for this one! I've been looking for just the thing:)
7  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: 80% of ICOs are Scams on: April 12, 2018, 12:48:24 PM
Sadly researchers did not make any research on how to identify the legit projects with 99% accuracy or in fact I will put my stakes in may ICO that has 70% of chance for its success in the future. I mean that would be dream come true if there is any analysis that goes like that way, what do we have to loose if we are already loosing thosuand like that.

Also good news is we do have 20% of ICO that are in good position while 8% sure shot ICO which can make it upto the exchangers. Hm, I thought the era of ICO is already finished but there is still ray of hope mate. !

I think we're entering a whole new era RIGHT NOW. I'm newer than most here but what I've read and determined as fact, utility tokens and if you saw the April 10th, 2018 report on Golem - Wow + a ton of new players in the game like Zeex really blew me away, exactly what I've been waiting for:)
8  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Is now a good time to buy Eth? on: April 12, 2018, 12:26:09 PM
You should not wait to buying ETH now should be the best decision for any investor to take because ETH still has the potential to rise,so anyone who invested in it will surely make profit.
The pump that is going on these couple of days looks a little fake. you may want to not invest for a little while.

Interesting what you wrote there - the pump being a little fake? What do you mean by this? It looks like theres always a spike before things level out a bit, unless I'm seeing it all wrong)
9  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Is now a good time to buy Eth? on: April 12, 2018, 12:23:49 PM
Newbie here... I've been thinking about buying my first crypto. I think I want to buy ETH, but wondering if I missed the boat already?

Primarily I'm choosing ETH because I think there are less foreseeable limitations than BTC, and it seems like ETH is basically accepted everywhere BTC is. Plus its cheaper  Grin

Is now a good time to buy it? Should I wait?
Ethereum is on the decline. thus Ethereum will be a fairly affordable price. with such a price provides a pretty good profit opportunity going forward. my estimate of Ethereum would be a pretty expensive price.
Decline is one way to put it. My friend called it a "healthy pullback" but look at it now!! It's up and up! (plus Golem is live, still reading on this, have you?)
10  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Convince me to buy BTC and not ETH. on: April 12, 2018, 12:04:47 PM
I'm pretty new to this, and after researching a bit, I feel like ETH is going places and has far fewer barriers to expansion that BTC. I want to buy and hold some coins, and as of now i'm leaning towards ETH. but I can't ignore the fact that bitcoin seems like top dog still... so convince me to buy BTC instead of eth. Give a reason besides "first movers advantage" Tongue

I think bitcoin is still the best, and ethereum is under bitcoin, and the popularity of bitcoin is still the best. But if you have your choice, you can buy according to your belief.
After the April 10th report on Golem, you have to admit that the "first mover" aka BTC has to compete harder
11  Other / Beginners & Help / Ethereum light wallets on: April 01, 2018, 02:26:36 PM
Hi all, I watched youtube video about the different kinds of wallets, and he described a "light wallet" that interact directly with the network (as oppose to a wallet like MEW that interacts with the network through one of their nodes.) The guy in the video said there are options like this for BTC but not yet for ETH... but the video was several months old, so I was wondering if there was a new wallet out that I can use.

For reference, this is my first wallet ever, I just want an easy place to store a few Ether. Advice appreciated.

To persuade a person to make a choice in one direction or another is pointless and not necessary. Asking a question he already knows the answer to him initially, but asks only for the purpose to make sure his choice is correct, so I'm sure you have already decided Wink

very keen of  you, sir Smiley You may be right. I want to buy ETH... but it seems like everyone is so crazy for bitcoin I wondered if I missed something!
13  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Convince me to buy BTC and not ETH. on: April 01, 2018, 01:31:38 PM
Why do we need to convince you if you like a coin then make an investment, Surely we can say that the price of ETH is pretty down right now but I am pretty sure that it is a good thing to buy right now because we are so sure that it can recover from a certain down fall, And if you got a few bucks to spare why not invest with both, As you can see bitcoin is the king of all crypto and if bitcoin drop so are well known Altcoins and vice versa when bitcoin surge up so are other Altcoins from this assumption and analysis we can see that bitcoin is more important from any other coins.

Very true that btc is the most important coin. I just wonder can it stay that way forever? I mean, I'm so new I need to do a load more research. I was hoping to just get a push in the right direction with this post.
14  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: 80% of ICOs are Scams on: April 01, 2018, 01:25:03 PM
This is why ICOs are getting banned on social media platforms and ads. It is just a shame that even good and legit ICOs are getting affected by these scammers. They are destroying a good platform for new businesses. That is why I agree if ICO gets regulated to at least restrain some scammers. I know scammers cannot be stopped from doing ICO scams but at least it can be lessened.

I agree with you sir!! now i'm interested to know how will ICOs get regulated?? Doesn't regulation require centralization? where can I go to get news about this?
15  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: 80% of ICOs are Scams on: April 01, 2018, 01:16:41 PM
if a scam is a whitepaper that will never happen you can assume 90% are scams or greater regardless of their intentions. The teams are unrealistic at best or outright scammers at worst. I would say eventually investors will be terrified to go near anything that is not almost complete.

Yeah I totally agree. Do you think that regulations are coming? I mean do you think eventually it will work like the venture capital world works? It would be hard for a scam business to get investors... how is this different I wonder.

Thank you, good sir Smiley

Yes they are, and they are making mess at the crypto market, people are confused and governments are worried.

So true. All my friends now think that "crypto currency is a scam" and I can't even
17  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Worried about Merits? I'm here to help. on: April 01, 2018, 10:06:25 AM
I'll do my best!! I will just contribute to the community and hopefully in a few years I'll be able to level up Smiley

I need to expand my education first! Unless you have any suggestions for a new newbie to write helpful things. Maybe I could create a guide for other newbies??

Anyway, thx for the explanation!
18  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Girls in crypto? Guys and Girls weigh in. on: April 01, 2018, 09:41:14 AM
I think this is an awesome idea.

I think that it can feel intimidating when you're a newbie and a girl... It's easy to feel like the "dumb blonde" especially when there are PIGS like the guy posting before me. He may be the problem we need to fix.

That and also it would be helpful to see more experts and vloggers on youtube who are ladies. If people stop thinking it's a boys game, it'll stop being a boys game.

Idk if it would be demeaning, but it could be cool to see "guides for girls" and more girl chats.

Love this post anyway...
19  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: What ICO's to look into? on: March 30, 2018, 12:49:19 PM
Frasindo it's a promising project I think. They backed by real assets and already have a live office on Jakarta partners with UBER, Grab too. You can get profit by holding the token. After that take a look at truegame, Seriously they project its very promising. Just do own your research on getting the best result. Good luck and sorry for my bad English, Thanks!

Thank you, your english is great!!! I've heard of Truegame actually... I need to look into it. Where are you from may I ask?
20  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: What ICO's to look into? on: March 30, 2018, 12:47:30 PM
Please post what ICO you think is hot and WHY. In your own words, summarize why it's legit and a good one to watch/buy in 2018.

take a look at the ON LIVE ICO, they're revolutionising both the video broadcast and remote consultations markets. The ICO is lasting for around 2 more weeks, so you still have good chance to get a decent bonus on your investment.

Otherwise I would recommend you also Safein ICO that is about to start in few days and I personally really like Coinmetro. Good luck with your investments.

Thank you I will look into these. Did you hear about safein ICO on the ON LIVE ICO place you mentioned?
