some people are here only for profit. they dont care what fair coop is upto or what faircoin signifies. there were people who sold at 1250 remember 1 million dump at 1250 for 12.5BTC. So how must he be feeling today almost 300BTC lost  Grin .. I cannot see future.. may be tomorrow Enric might dump faircoin project and move onto something else. who knows how well fair coop might survive. But All i can see is present and at present I can see faircoop team is doing its best to move this forward. they have taken many hits with  dumps.. even after mintpal recovery people just dumped a lot of coin.. but every time we have recovred.

This time this is the most significant consolidation phase 100's of BTC have been sold and its still amazing that we are holding at 20K.. So lets hope for the best and the faircoin I have hoarded will be used as part of faircoin economy not sold on bitterex..

83  Economy / Speculation / Re: Wall Observer BTC/USD - Bitcoin price movement tracking & discussion on: June 05, 2015, 08:53:46 PM
We have many new players coming to bitcoin all the time in the form of retailers, traders and miners mostly.  Yes, the "miners" portion is probably slowing down a little bit but they are still coming.  I see newbies in the mining threads all the time asking questions about mining.  The new one's who come along pick up the slack of any oldies who may have left bitcoin behind.  Especially, the newbies to trading bitcoin.

We are still very early in the game for bitcoin.  It's a new technology to most; much like the internet and email was to most when it first came out.  These things take time.  So, be patient and let the blockchain work things out.

We have many venture capital groups who have invested a lot of money into the technology of the blockchain.  Many user friendly apps for financial institutions will be coming out soon and will change the way billions in the world live their daily lives.  Many here may give up on bitcoin for lack of patience.  However, I know billions on this earth who have yet to even hear of it who will gladly accept it with open arms and give it the support it needs in great numbers.  There is strength in numbers.

As people in other parts of the world come into the fold of technology with smart phones and the like, we will see a increased enthusiasm for bitcoin - the application.  As other applications are created and used on the blockchain [with a relative ease and security] news will go around about the blockchain.  Bitcoin is not the blockchain.  The blockchain is bitcoin.  The blockchain is more than just bitcoin.  The blockchain is MANY things we have yet to see, but will see in time that will change the way we do many things in the future.

So, be patient...  The future is here...  It only needs a little time to play out.  In June of 2007 (eight years ago on June 29) we had the iPhone or the term, "smart phone."  That was only 8 years ago, people. Nobody ever heard the term, "Smart phone" until eight years ago.  Eight years is only a blink of an eye.  The "drama" in the price of bitcoin fluctuation is what it is - "drama."  We haven't had eight years yet with bitcoin.

Do not fret!  Bitcoin (the app) will have it's day of recompense.  We just need to be patient and wait on the many other things the blockchain can do.  It's all about "the blockchain."  Not bitcoin!  Bitcoin, is only an application on the blockchain.  Be patient and watch how many other apps created using "the blockchain" technology changes the world.  THEN, you will see a change for the better in how the rest of the world values any other applications, such as bitcoin, using the blockchain technology.

All this talk of saying, "If the price goes below this amount, it's over."  I feel the price of bitcoin is directly related to the value of "the blockchain."  If the blockchain does well, then most any application using the blockchain will do well; as long as it's user friendly.  We are making progress in leaps and bounds with "user friendliness" ever since the blockchain and bitcoin first came out.  Give it time folks.  The blockchain and and it's apps [Including Bitcoin] will do wonders for mankind the same way the internet has.  Just give it time.

Those who give up on it will lose in the end for their lack of patience.  Six years is but a fart in the wind in view of time and how technology changes.  As more time passes, we will see great strides in the blockchain and many user friendly apps using the blockchain technology; including bitcoin.

David

One of my favorite replies so far here at the forum.

This is one of the very few sane posts  on this thread and infact in the forum. Its all about blockchain.. bitcoin is just a tiny part of it. This is just the beginning of something great just wait and watch

Hi,
I got a few thousands of faircoin at the beginnig, then forgot about them, not checking the wallet for months.
Now I restored my wallet.dat on a new pc.
My faircons are disappered, and there is not even an address to which they have been sent. What does it mean?
Can anybody help me?
thanks

At some point in time we introduced a special block (using a hardfork) and we’ve reclaimed presumably lost coins from the initial distribution. You can read back on this on bitcointalk. Fortunately you can reclaim them.
Send an email to support [at] fair-coin.org and we'd be happy to assist you in recovering your lost coins Smiley

Wow
Thanks mate.
Now I start to believe this is really a fair coin!

and with that belief you will not sell them immediately and hold on to them  Grin

at least they can't dump a second time  Grin

if there's a sustained buy pressure in getfaircoin the price will constantly rise again.

There wont be pressure if the price is not decreased I think

What is the amount of faircoin reclaim from the initial distribution the last few weeks?

Just follow the money: https://chain.fair-coin.org/address/fRecovr5RiYKSh9hAJYR1jmTMapWMnBxRm
We've returned approx 300K-FairCoin in May, we've received about 25 support tickets in that same month.

that's a lot of fair coin.  I am not too worried about the price though.

Finally we see some selling pressure at 30K satoshis
88  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][FAIR] Faircoin Dev team launch Faircoin 2.0 White paper. PoC on: May 25, 2015, 09:58:22 PM
Thanks to the dumper I snagged 6BTC around 20K SAT. That was my wall which was broken last. But I think this is healthy.
89  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][FAIR] FairCoop launch Fairmarket Alpha testing version on: May 20, 2015, 07:03:12 PM
Im not sure that the growth is very healthy either... Faircoin need more buy support on the bid side. Can getfaircoin put some bid instead of always buying the ask when in need of faircoin? I mean, there is no need to grow the marketcap that fast. Any remedy for this situation?

How do you know that i am not doing that ?   Grin

The problem is that buys in getfaircoin are more faster than sells to our bids, so we need to do both in order to not became without existances...

I agree with Sebastian here. I also like the growth of faircoin but I think Getfaircoin should create more buy walls. Buy wall is just 20BTC which is thin.  I can easily go to getfaircoin buy 3K Euros worth of coins put a sell wall at 20% higher and make profit. I hope you are not taking any loss.
Or you can avg the number of coins you can get for that amount and send coins accordingly just put a disclaimer on getfaircoin that price is not constant.
90  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][FAIR] FairCoop launch Fairmarket Alpha testing version on: May 20, 2015, 02:50:57 PM
i have a question.
if some day ,there have no sell order on bitrrex any more.or not enough sell on bitrrex
or if there have 100000 FAIR buys in getfaircoin .  but there only have 20000 FAIR sells in bitrrex.
then what will happen ?

That is never going to happen. Even you will sell at a price ... I don't know what price that might be when 1FAIR = 1Euro or 1FAIR == 200Euro.. but believe me you will sell it at some price Smiley
91  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][FAIR] FairCoop launch Fairmarket Alpha testing version on: May 20, 2015, 02:29:25 PM
Okay, seriously: why is this coin $2M?

Go to coinmarketcap.. Check ths graph of this coin.. compare it to ANY other coin.... you will find something you have never seen before... a constant growth for the past year.. if that dosen't satisfy you do some reading on fair.coop  Cheesy
92  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][FAIR] FairCoop launch Fairmarket Alpha testing version on: May 19, 2015, 05:50:22 PM
I haven't followed FairCoin for some time now and just updated my wallet for the first time in over a year. I noticed that all of my FAIR is now gone from my wallet and was sent to the "FairCoin Recovery Fund" without my knowledge back in February. What's going on?

I'd say read up on the frontpage and visit fair.coop; much has happened in the last 12 months.

Regarding the lost coins; we've announced this through various channels, including this forum. So also read up and contact support@fair-coin.org for the procedure to reclaim your lost coins.

yes, and again, see my reply yesterday to the same question:
https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=702675.msg11410962#msg11410962

(seems that people are discovering astonished faircoin between first 20 in coinmarketcap.com and remembering about their coins)

....and in one year in fact already a lot of things happened as drakandar comments.

You can read in the first page or choose for example this literary version ->  https://www.vice.com/read/be-the-bank-you-want-to-see-in-the-world-0000626-v22n4

now even 1000 coins are worth .2BTC so people are obviously "remembering" their  old coins and want them back lol  Grin

Hello everyone,

I would like to make a point here, Faircoop and Faircoin is the REVOLUTION, is the fight against banks as Lucio did back in the day .. but now is digital.

What would be the point of buying fairs on the low and selling on the high just to make some cash?

I have the same thoughts. I have been tempted to sell sometimes. The only reason for not selling is not only the constantly rising price ( anyways you cannot predict future price of any crypto) but also the good work being done by Faircoop team. I was in for profit initially but not anymore. This is different than rest of crypto. Real people are buying it

Funny this silent here today...

I am happy to feel that everyone that has been confident with the faircoin dev team and with faircoop is winning  Cheesy

btw, this is one of the wonderful spaces for artists and perfomance in europe  http://www.pa-f.net/   Now, Faircoin partner

Once I got a message from you last year about what the plan is I personally didn't believe it that this much is going to happen to Faircoin. But somehow I didn't sell a single faircoin till date.
So much effort has gone into Faircoin since 1 Yr . There are a lot of skeptics in cyrpto and rightly so! But I believe you/dev team is upto something big. Everyone believes in this and so do I.
All the best... only regret is I didnt buy more lol  Grin Grin

Fairmarket alpha testing version launched on World Fair Trade Day

Fairmarket is FairCoop’s online market, where all the products and services offered by members of this cooperative can be found. A key project in the new global economic ecosystem we want to build is being born.
It works under the concept of an “open cooperative”; that is to say, everyone can easily be a member of FairCoop. As a seller, simply by using this tool, building your e-shop  and providing your goods and services, you take part in the process and therefore you participate as a member of it.
The first alpha testing version of the Fairmarket has been published today, as the world celebrates World Fair Trade Day http://wfto.com/events/world-fair-trade-day-2015 With Fairmarket, FairCoop is contributing to an inclusive worldwide festival of events celebrating Fair Trade as a tangible contribution to the fight against poverty and exploitation, climate change, and the economic crisis that has the greatest impact on the world’s most vulnerable populations.
This is an open testing phase, not fully operational, where we need your participation and suggestions to improve the platform and fix bugs.
So, Fairmarket is now under collective construction, and you can already join, propose ideas and get involved.
Alongside this launch, FairCoop is also presenting the first batch of Bounties. 300,000 Faircoin will be redistributed through 15 projects choosen as priorities by the FairCoop community. Read them, and if you think that you could get involved, add yourself as a candidate and become part of the process!

Fairmarket will be launched in three phases. For now, we are in the alpha phase.

In this phase seller registration is already open and you can start setting up your shop, uploading your products and services and promoting yourself.
The next phase, the beta phase, will be when the market opens for trading, but it will still be lacking many of the features that are currently planned.
The third phase will be the fully productive one, when FairCoop will present to the postcapitalist world a full–featured marketplace to build the network economy that all of us deserve.

Now to begin, we need to build a strong Fairmarket community and you can get involved to make this possible.

Join the Fairmarket here: http://market.fair.coop

And join this forum to build Fairmarket together:  https://fair.coop/groups/faircoop-community/fairmarket/forum/

Congrats Enric!! All your/coop's Hard work is paying off! Also we hit 10000 for the first time!! Grin

60 week ago, There were 50M coins, and now have 51.5M.
I'm don't understand. at this rate, in 100 years there will be lots and lots of coins, then the value can't grow...
true?

dont worry, if this coin is still relevant in 100 years. even 20 years. I think we can all retire.

We can retire when 1FAC = 1$ and thats not too far away :p
97  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][FAIR] FairCoop launch Donations rush 100000 FAIR to 100 first collectives on: April 23, 2015, 08:06:26 PM
I think it was just a price correction and no DUMP. someone just sold 6-7 BTC. He might have needed it for some other coin or something. Otherwise why will they Dump if they know price is going to be higher if they just bought it. That person must be pissed off as price increased by almost 30-40 pct after that dump  Grin

Got home from the dentist last week still dizzy from the valium, spilled water all over my macbook, was certain i had backed up all my wallets. Had not. 26000 faircoin gone with  the wind, or rather water. Sad(

Luckily I had managed to write down my bitcoin seed at least, so theres some solace. But not the ending to a four hour operation I was hoping for.

Great to see the activity has gone up greatly though!

Thats terrible. but cant you recover from the hard disk.. I am sure you must have tried though

i dont think price is going up due to a pump just now. It feels like general adoption, smart people investing in good working tech with huge potential. The pumps will come and go, higher highs but also higher floors as the one month chart clearly reflects. Crave is now on a solid foundation and its nice to see a coin going up on merit  Smiley
