The only thing I've needed to change for Vertcoin is thread concurrency. These seem to be the optimal ones for the cards I've tried so far:
R9 290: 24550
7950: 19712
5850: 5120

I am sorry I meant I was gpu mining.. at 1.7MHz and was working fine.. cgminer says 1.7Mhz but pools only regustering 7KHz

at slower speed as for other scrypt coins but this must be is the reason it think

I had stock 290s pulling 260-270 watts on 95-99% load.

Seasonic 1250 can go hold at  least 1500 watts.

Adding a secondary PSU wouldnt hurt to spread out one of the cards, no additional motherboard and cpu draw if using a dummY plug for the 24pin atx.

BTC has had forks. Diamond has 1min block times and difficulty adjustments every block and has forked as well (And PalmDetroit fixed it). They happen and if so we will deal with them.

Obviously we have differing opinions but i think we can both agree every approach has it's pros and cons.  We chose what we thought was best for our coin and our concept.
