83  Bitcoin / Mining support / HELP - LKETC miner SD card software ???? How to write files/name folder ??? on: August 15, 2016, 05:10:34 AM
Hi All

I had a LKETC miner with newer V2 board which suddenly stopped working ?

The raspberry pi unit was not connecting so i tried an SD card from a working unit.

It connected to this card with no problems.

I then formatted the card i could not connect to and copied all files on the card to the new formatted card BUT it still would not connect ??

Anyone got any ideas, am i doing something wrong ?

Has ANYONE got the files or correct way to write them to the SD card ??

Cheers

It is strange mate, the RM1000 is a SIMPLE no go, not working, i have a RM750w and several EVGA's plus others over the years without ANY probs with pin shorting,,,,That;s not really an issue. It's faulty.

RM1000 fan not working all the time, fan working only when it is necessary to be cooled.
You can use B.B.B. from S5 miner with your S7.

S3 do not have B.B.B. and S2 B.B.B.  is without memory and  only works from SD card.

Only have an S2 and S3, not that i would take it apart, it looks like it just sits on the main s7 unit, the RM1000 has never been put undo load.

What i can not fathom is that the S7 will not even 'talk' light up etc...I have done a LOT of research and it has 2 main components, the I/O module and the BB board (black pcb board)that the ethernet cable plugs directly into (plus hashing blades)

I do have an S2 (plus an s3+ and several dragon miners) and they have a BB board (basically a raspberry pi) which i COULD try on it, but don't won't to do that as it may 'fry' it and cause problems with Ebay returns.

The seller has been brilliant and very understanding plus we have had a good chat about mining etc so i do really feel sorry for him.....

Video here of S2 and you will see the black BB board being removed, holds a micro SD card for details (much like a raspberry pi that uses a standard sd card.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dM4gRCexyQk

I started mining when it was a PAIN with GPU's (who remembers trying to get 6 GPU's of one MB..lol), several PSU's etc so i KNOW what i'm doing, i joined here a few months after i started mining in 2013 so have experience, being asked is the power plugged all the way into the PSU and not knowing how to connect it is laughable i'm sorry.

Cheers

Hi All, Hi bilabonic

Its the seller of this S7 BTC miner here.
The unit is (should/was/tested) working well, hope the video walk through was followed to ensure it is all connect up properly.
the usual pin 3+4 on PSU (850w and RM1000w one) should be in place, do ensure it is in place, and not peeled back, or pin fallen out.

walk through of my setup(testing) pre-shipping.
https://youtu.be/byicTWp7r1g

my S7 setup, pre shipping again, -all about power supplies connections
https://youtu.be/urkXA2ShCd4

Bear in mind the RM1000 has the modular cables, in case they are not plugged in properly?
Have them meter-tested post power on, to ensure they are correctly plugged.

I am scratching my head here, not sure what the issue you're experiencing there to be honest.
Do you mind posting here photos and video-walk-through of your setup by any chance as well?

that would help set any assumptions away and get us all on the same page there.

cheers

Looking at video https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=urkXA2ShCd4&feature=youtu.be at 22 seconds looks like molex to PCIe?  For S7's I would never use this adapter as it just is not the same power as PCIe cable.  And most molex to PCIe are not meant for the watt's were talking about.  Also in video you mention that it was hot with smaller PSU what specifically was hot and how hot are we talking about?

So not sure with adapter/hot miner might have had a hard life.   It is sounding like controller has a problem which you might order due to time to get.  But when running are you still using that molex to PCIe adapter?

Hi it is a VERY simple setup mate, pretty impossible to get it wrong is it 100% correct, the RM1000 does NOT work....Plus just using the smaller 850w PSU, which does work  WILL not even power the ethernet/I/O board !!!!

Looks like i will have to return through Ebay returns policy...
87  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: HELP - Have a Antminer S7, not leds on controller board on: August 11, 2016, 12:23:49 PM
Leave the hash boards unplugged and just power the controller/IO board.
Do the lights on the LAN jack start up with the green one (network active) blinking?
Does the little blue light next to it eventually light?

If no, methinks controller is probably bricked or dead.
You said the fans work and red LED's on the IO board light so I'd think it is probably OK. The bank of green LED's (not lit I assume) shows coms activity.

NOTHING except the tiny red leds near the boards, no green comms led, no red led and no fans power up, using an 850w psu which powers up fine by shorting correct pins....
88  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: HELP - Have a Antminer S7, not leds on controller board on: August 10, 2016, 06:10:25 PM
Yes the controller can be powered up by itself to see if it is dead or alive. Just leave the hash boards all unplugged.

As for parts, if you take a quick look through Bitmains site starting at the Support tab > Service, you eventually find https://shop.bitmain.com/product.htm?parts=parts

Thanks for reply, just wondering if i need the black BB board or the I/O board, the 3 small red leds on the I/O light up ok....
89  Bitcoin / Hardware / HELP - Have a Antminer S7, not leds on controller board on: August 10, 2016, 03:20:30 PM
Hi all

I and presuming the controller board on my S7, the green and red Led's DO NOT come on ?

PSU's are fine, i have an 800w powering one bank of 3 and the controller board and an 1300w EVGA powering the other six, fans work and the 'little' leds (3 off near the end of the white ribbons are ON)....

Anyone got any ideas, network cable is fine as i have several of LKETC miners.....

Can you just purchase the controller board ? Will the controller board just power up of the 800w (without the 6 blade connection)

Cheers

Hi All

HELP - CAN NOT DELETE/REMOVE REDUNDANT WORKERS Huh?

Not sure what is going on but when i go on the WORKERS page and select 'edit', the tab to delete the worker is not 'highlighted' or selectable....

I can only just select 'cancel'  Huh Huh

Anyone, i have 3 workers removed from the pool but they are just showing as (red ! - OFF)..

Cheers

Hi bilabonic,

the tab to delete the worker is going to be highlighted 24 hours after you stop mining with your miner. Therefore please just be patient and wait 24 hours.

Thanks for reply.

Wow...after everything there are still people mining Slush ?!?

This is called "an inertia".

I used to mine on P2Pool BUT had no remote access or any way of monitoring my miners, some Dragon/LKETC miners just stop for some reason and need restarting. I did leave an old netbook on the local network with Teamviewer installed but it got nicked...lol

I only use Slush for it's great interface, even though i only get around just over 0.1 BTC every 2 days at 17.6Th.

95  Bitcoin / Pools / Re: [40+ PH] SlushPool (slushpool.com); World's First Mining Pool on: April 30, 2016, 07:18:07 PM

I have noticed that in the last 12 days that my payout at every 2 days is now always 0.0079xxxx, before that it was ALWAYS 0.009xxxxx.

I am running at about 17.6TH.

Please elaborate, those numbers make absolutely zero sense. 100% luck you should be making ~0.09856 every two days, down from ~0.11264 every 2 days due to difficulty change on Apr 14.

I will have to answer that question in detail later as 6 of my miners (6Th) went offline and i have only turned them back on about 1.5 hours ago.

BUT usually when i connect back to the pool the scoring hashrate usually matches the miners hashrate BUT they are ALL but one running at 0.16 Huh? I have not altered ANY details !!!!!

One of the miners is showing a scoring hashrate of over 6Th Huh? The machines are all 1Th.......

NEVER  came across this before.....

The scoring hashrate on the main dashboard is correct (17.5Th) BUT the individual miner hashrate is not ??

Any ideas ??
Sounds like those 6 miners are all pointed to the same worker name.

That could be it, i added th tag DADS_ to the worker name on the workers page of the pool BUT this was last week.

I have not altered any of the miner details though....

I will remove the DADS_ prefix reference and add it to LABELS section for reference.

Thanks

looks ike the webfront is being updated theres also a Hash Rate Proof not sure if its new but i havent seen it before
Hash Rate Proof

hash Rate Proof
What is Hash Rate Proof?

Hash Rate Proof is a method developed by Slush pool with the aim to prove that total hash rate of the pool declared by pool operator is accurate.
Why is such Proof useful?

Until recently independent third party verification of hash rate which the pool has been publishing was not possible. Bitcoin miners have had to trust the pool operator to be honest. But we have decided to be even more transparent and start to publish more comprehensive data. Such transparency and more comprehensive data-set will allow everyone to answer following questions and do some interesting data investigations as well.

Have you ever wondered if the hash rate of the pool is accurate and pool does not cheat the miners on payouts?
Did you experienced "Bad Luck" period with the pool and questioned the pool operator's honesty?
Would you like to check the pool "luck" on different difficulty levels?
Are you interested in quite exact distribution of BIP voting (which we plan to release in near future)?
    and more to come

more can be found here

Well it's still showing 46 Years 4 Months........lol

It's still finding blocks ??

Is there a BETTER pool that has a good interface as i need to remotely monitor miners as most are remote from me and need resetting at times.

Cheers

46 Years 4 Months !!!!!!!!

It's usually 48 hours.....

Nothing else has altered, all miners running and hashrate showing stable on pool stats page Huh

100  Bitcoin / Pools / Re: ADVICE PLEASE - P2P pool payout 'difference' ???? on: February 23, 2016, 06:48:10 PM
Hi All

I currently have about 16Th and mine on p2p pools using this as a guide for best node -

http://nodes.p2pool.co/

The top Node ALWAYS comes out as Elizium pool for me whenever i do i scan using it BUT when i look at other pools and they list -

'Payouts if a block were found NOW:'

I get HIGHER payouts on other nodes stated in the list of payout addresses ?

They are showing as -

Elzium -                                  Mean:  -0.311BTC (Graph, not list)
http://xt.warp2pool.eu:9332/static/        -0.34641829
http://cammello.agaland.it:9332/static/  -0.35065378
http://p2pool.science:9332/static/          -0.34867615

So how accurate are these ?

Do i trust the scanner or the payouts listed on each node ??

There is a difference of 0.03965378/£12/$17 at THIS MOMENT................(using Preev)

Thanks

The difference depends on how many fees they are included in a block from a node. See the "Current block value:" if higher you earn more if that node find a block.

The fees are included from bitcoind (It depends on the configuration and if bitcoind was restarted recently the fees are lower and then increase with time..).

Some nodes using restrictive configurations to have less fees, this allows to have bitcoind more faster.

When you choose a node also checks "Current block value:"

IMHO Wink

The block value DOES correspond with the payout stated on each node !!!

The higher the Block Value the the payout.......

Not sure to swap node priority again now to - ?

1 - http://cammello.agaland.it:9332/static/     - Payout: 0.3721171 / Current block value: 25.35813989
2 - http://p2pool.science:9332/static/             - Payout: 0.3706548/  Current block value: 25.26078153
3 - http://xt.warp2pool.eu:9332/static/           - Payout: 0.36951606/ Current block value: 25.17836745
4 - http://elizium.name/userstats.html            - Payout: 0.329/Current block value: 25.01625234

 Huh Huh Huh

Thanks for reply  Smiley
