greed.. mi sono sempre interrogato sull'avidita' non so stabilire se sia buona o meno, potrei dire (secondo me) dipende.. dipende se diventa fine a se stesso o se ci sta un obiettivo piu grande dietro fine a se stessa l'avidita' e' inutile La mia personale avidità è sempre stata il mezzo per arrivare poi a concludere qualcosa di grande, un modo per realizzare dei sogni. Chi spende tutto ciò che guadagna cerca la soddisfazione immediata, la scarica di adrenalina dell'acquisto compulsivo, per rimanere però poi sempre nelle stesse condizioni. Se invece l'avidità è fine a se stessa, se lo scopo è quello di accumulare senza limite ne ragione allora oltre che inutile può diventare un problema. |

Credo che l'avidità sia una di quelle cose che spingono bitcoin...personalmente fu l'avidità, la smania di guadagnare che mi fece conoscere e acquistare btc la prima volta, dandomi poi l'opportunità di trovarmi in un mondo che non credevo possibile. Ho scoperto tante cose grazie a quell'iniziale moto di avidità, mi ha spinto in luoghi magici. |

Perhaps it would be useful to set a time lock to prevent someone from spending your coins before you want. Could the attacker come to know it and get around this obstacle?
If he has the private key, he can simply sign another transaction without locktime and broadcast that one instead.. ? I don't know of any wallets that lock "adresses" or private keys rather, from spending funds, as that's just not possible, AFAIK. (Since the attacker could simply export the private key into his own wallet & broadcast.) What I thought was a way to freeze a specific tx, not the private key, in the OP's case blocking the 1 btc transaction he made from being spent. I don't know if it's possible or if it ever will be, I'm willing to learn. |

Would he have avoided theft by doing so? Encryption doesn't help if the thief knows the private key already. yeah that's what I thought, it's obvious. I made some paper wallet too but not on walletgenerator.net, with the intention of keeping them 10 years. I would not bear such a loss easily. Perhaps it would be useful to set a time lock to prevent someone from spending your coins before you want. Could the attacker come to know it and get around this obstacle? |

Non ci crederete  , ho fatto un ultimo disperato tentativo con tutti i pin che avrei potuto usare e finalmente l'ho trovato! Non ho idea del perché scelsi un pin impossibile da ricordare ma ce l'ho fatta! Comunque farò tesoro dei vostri consigli qualora dovesse capitare a qualcun'altro (io non farò mai più un errore del genere). Ora mi sa che lo scambio per un milione di satoshi, o aspetto il dopo halving che è tra un paio di settimane, che dite voi? |

Aspetterò la prossima bull run e allora mi converrà provare magari! Va be non è un grosso problema perchè quel LTC lo pagai veramente poco, però mi girano comunque. E si non so quale fosse la posizione della parola mancante, il che rende la cosa più difficile. Il pin serve perchè a quanto ho capito è una sorta di multisig con le 12 parole + il pin. Comunque una volta trovate le parole il pin lo potrei cambiare. Spero che il sito regga qualche anno ancora  |

Hi everyone, sorry if it's not the right section but I made a stupid mistake that is, I sent from a paper wallet 1 LTC to my address on block.io, the problem is that I didn't remember that on this beautiful site, beyond the password to log in you are asked for a pin when you have to do transactions, I don't even remember having created that pin but ok.
I can change the pin as long as I have the 12 magic words, I tried but to my surprise that (stupid I am) I only wrote 11 of them.
So my question is: is there any way to recover the missing word?

Ciao a tutti, ho fatto un errore stupido ossia, ho inviato da un paper wallet 1 LTC ad un mio indirizzo su block.io, il problema è che non mi ricordavo che su questo benedetto sito, oltre la password per accedere ti viene chiesto un pin quando devi fare transazioni, io non mi ricordo neanche di averlo creato quel pin ma vabè.
Il pin lo posso cambiare a patto di avere le 12 paroline magiche, ci ho provato ma con sorpresa noto che (stupido che sono) ne ho scritte solo 11.
Quindi il mio quesito è: c'è qualche modo per recuperare la parola mancante?
Ricompenserò chiunque riesca a farmi riavere i miei fondi.

You can set maxuploadtarget=n in either bitcoin.conf or as a desktop menu parameter. That will limit uploaded data to n MB per 24 hours

Looks like lots of node are trying to sync via your node imo, I don't think it's strange. Anyway it's fine if you don't want them to use all of your upload bandwidth.
It's not that I don't want to give them all my bandwidth, it's that I'd like to understand why so many similar nodes connect and ask for so much data. |

Strange, my hard guess is: Ping request will just display the delay of the connection between you and the peers... so if they are from China and you're from US ( with 1mbps upload bandwith), 1000+ms is pretty normal specially if the other party's connection is too slow. ( could be wrong) Usually my ping on bitnodes is 40-50 ms and I've always seen the peers connected to me under 100 ms. |

The block chain is 200 GB, so asking for 5 GB per day doesn't seem unreasonable.
Yes I know but my internet it's a bottleneck in that way, my upload is 100kb/s. Since my bandwidth is limited, I would at least know if I give it to "honest" nodes. |

Hello everyone, I have a satoshi 0.17.1 node and for a few days a lot of chinese IPs with satoshi 0.16.1 are connecting to me, all in synchronization so they are using all my upload bandwidth.
I've noticed that they all have a very high ping and once connected, my ping goes to 1000 and more both looking at bitnodes and for other new peers.
I have 1 Mbps upload with my adsl, and I've sent them more than 5 GB per day in the past week.
So today I started banning, and in 6 hours I banned more than 150, all near addresses such as 223.245.201.219 and 223.245.201.117 or others that share almost all the numbers except the final part, or even random addresses but with the same features.
All with the same behavior, which are synchronizing and all from China. They're all with bloom and witness.
Any idea of what can it be? Is it legitimate?

Why is the only I see connected via 127.0.0.1? Instead all the others I see go through my public IP.
Some ideas?
Is it possibly just the difference between incoming/outgoing connections?  Looking at my node... all the Outbound connections show the "via aaa.bbb.ccc.ddd:8333" line (where aaa.bbb.ccc.ddd is my public IP)... whereas the inbound connections all appear to show as "via 127.0.0.1:8333". No I don't think so, because yes outbound connections show the "via xxx.xxx.xxx:8333" that is my pubblic IP, but also most of the inbound show the same except these peers running bitcoinj and another one that has as user agent /btc-seeder:0.0001/ (idk what it is). Those I've seen so far at least |

127.0.0.1 when I’ve used it is the internal hoatname of your server. Ban it if it’s bugging you and see if anything happens ... What harm can it do? Yes, the simplest thing to do was to ban him. And I did it  |
