Hm. Not sure what to think of this one.

Mooncoin dev here, I am still around.
I had to deal with back surgery after a herniated disc. I'm not going to share the details because "haters gonna hate" and all of that. It was not a pleasant experience.
We'll update this weekend.
Sorry to hear about your back. I know people who've had similar operations; I hope you're not in too much pain! Long term there is still a potential future for Mooncoin. As I've mentioned several times in this thread, and as @ProfessorY has alluded to, the future of crypto is absolutely massive. We're still at a stage equivalent to smartphones in 2006 or early 2007 -- they existed, but few people had them (in terms of percent of the population). Then they took off into mass adoption and the number of people using them and the amount of money in the market grew exponentially. Something similar will happen with crypto, except I think it'll happen faster and reach a MUCH bigger market than smartphones have so far - in part because crypto is a solution to major problems found especially often in developing countries. You'll see a LOT more competing "brands" and even the small players will be worth at least a cent or two each, which could pay off handsomely for those of us holding. And the difficulty is so insanely low again - I made an additional 60,000 while I was sleeping last night just running one PC with a single graphics card getting about 300Kh/s. I think the Coinpayments thread is still accepting votes for a little longer. Vote for it if you haven't: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=397540.480and of course you can still request it on Cryptsy - it looks like he's finishing up upgrades before adding new coins https://cryptsy.freshdesk.com/support/discussions/topics/49478/

Buying at 1 satoshi, ANYthing that's done to raise awareness = pretty large profits. You can make 1000% returns if it could climb back to just 10 satoshis. Hell, if it reached the low price level doge is at right now, you'd be making 25x ROI. This should be a no-brainer.
And it's totally do-able. This coin needs a facelift (new look and feel), better web site, and a community behind it.
At this low price, this coin should be one of the most obvious investment vehicles in crypto. But an absent dev doesn't exactly inspire confidence. Yes I know you had to deal with a lot of trolls. So what. That's what happens when you launch a coin.
If this is in any way a legit effort and not a get rich quick scam, then accept the help people are offering and make this coin into something.
Seriously. People need to focus on the longer term and not just pump and dump. The coins that are still around in a few months will be trading higher because the entire market will have grown. Even the small ones will much more valuable as more people get onboard with crypto and more fiat flows into Bitcoin & the altcoins. This is just the tip of the iceberg, the earliest phases of mass adoption. As I've said before, an important part of this is letting people use Moon as a currency. CoinPayments.net is looking for votes on which altcoins to add to their payment processing system here: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=397540They are likely to take the top 5 or so, so get in there and vote for Moon. Doesn't have to be #1 to succeed!

Hopefully there will be a working Mac wallet soon - I ended up installing the Windows version in a VM and have received payments from both pools I've been using.
IcyHash paid me so fast after I pasted in the address I had the money before the page refreshed! Heh.

where is doge coin ?
They already accept Doge. This survey is to pick new ones like Moon.

Shit. I'm running Mavericks, but it doesn't look like an OS version problem. Was hoping at least one mac guy here had a working wallet... I've already got some shares picked with nowhere to put them.
Yeah, it's the same for me on a Mac running Mountain Lion - haven't tried it on my secondary Mac that has Mavericks, but yeah, don't think it's version-specific. The error message makes it seem like it's missing an image file.

FYI guys, Mooncoin is still in the running on the Coinpayments.net survey - they're not just picking one, but the top few. (Lottocoin is not really in the lead anymore because they were bribing people to vote) Anyone who hasn't voted should vote for Mooncoin here:https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=397540.80Mooncoin is really doing well in the survey when you consider the dev hasn't been doing anything to market it! And remember, you can still add your voice to get it on Cryptsy here if you haven't yet: https://cryptsy.freshdesk.com/support/discussions/topics/49478/

Anyone get a working Mac wallet? The working wallet link posted recently only seems to have a Windows version.
|
|
|
The first problem was a very poorly written query that overloaded the database. The second problem was the max open files limit was reached so new connections were not being accepted. Both are now corrected. I just spent the past 3 hours working like hell to fix it and you're accusing me of scamming coins. That's really upsetting considering the level of work I have put into this.
Anyway, what can I do for you to make this right in your eyes?
Spork985 PMed me to work with me to get it working and was definitely trying to help, so I'll back him up on this. It's working fine for me.

Well, I take that back. Icyhash isn't letting me connect anymore. Try again. We just rebooted the stratum server Nope. Have tried multiple times; none of my PCs connect, but instead go immediately to a backup server.

Icyhash is working for me, but the Mac wallet crashes when I try loading it. Missing image? Why is dogecoin not listed even though it's doing better than quite some of the coins listed?
They already accept Doge, so there's no need to vote it in. It's interesting how well Mooncoin is doing despite having NO marketing going on to push it like some of the others.

Mooncoin is still getting requests on Cryptsy and is still in the running on the Coinpayments.net survey. Anyone who hasn't voted should vote for Mooncoin here: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=397540.80Add your voice to get it on Cryptsy here if you haven't yet: https://cryptsy.freshdesk.com/support/discussions/topics/49478/Bitcoin is back on its way up over $1,000 and there will be MUCH greater interest in all of the currencies as we move into the first quarter of this year. Even the inexpensive coins will trade higher later this year as the market and awareness grows. More people will buy and trade than will mine, so as long as we keep it alive it can be profitable in the long run even if it's never a big coin. Get it in use through Coinpayments.net and elsewhere and Moon can continue.

it's better to run the program from the command line
Better is subjective. It's much less convenient, and it pretty much eliminates the possibility of getting it set up this way for friends and family who are not very tech-savvy. There must be a reason the Automator trick doesn't work -- I've set it up in a matter of seconds for about a dozen other wallets.

Well, the diff is at 18 now. Let it go under 10 and the people start mining again as hell. I am still waiting for the second lift off which will happen. Not today, not tomorrow, but it will happen.
How and when does difficulty decreases can someone explain With most (or all) cryptos difficulty increases when more people mine and decreases as fewer people mine (more or less competition basically). The idea is to have the coins discovered at a consistent rate, so it slows or speeds up/becomes more or less difficult to keep the speed consistent.

Mooncoin CAN go higher but only if people stop listening to all the trolls bashing it. I personally feel like the coin was attacked with haters undercutting the value by 5 sat each sell order. I saw multiple sell orders of only ONE mooncoin attempting to drive that price and scare people away.
1 Mooncoin @ 0.00000009 1 Mooncoin @ 0.00000008 1 Mooncoin @ 0.00000007 1 Mooncoin @ 0.00000006
obviously there was only one reason someone would do this. My only concern is will Cryptsy even consider it now? The only thing we had to back moon was the immense trade volume but now its gone. What else does moon offer?
Mooncoin is still getting requests on Cryptsy and is still in the running on the Coinpayments.net survey. Anyone who hasn't voted should vote for Mooncoin here:
https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=397540.80People need to stop panicking and focus on what you can do - vote, post on Facebook, Twitter, YouTube, etc. Bitcoin is back on its way up over $1,000 again and there will be rapidly more and more interest in the currencies. Get it in use through Coinpayments.net and elsewhere and it will continue. Even the inexpensive coins will trade higher later this year as the market and awareness grows. More people will buy and trade than will mine. Earthcoin is trading in the same price range as Moon and it's about to go onto Cryptsy - Moon could too if people keep supporting it. Add your voice to get it on Cryptsy here if you haven't yet:
