142  Economy / Computer hardware / Re: [WTB] Corsair Cables from PSU to Miner on: February 17, 2015, 04:49:25 AM
I'm pretty sure I have what you want.  Will check when I get home.

I would have like 10,000 of your babies for like one of those cables!

Please do check to see if you've got 8pin to 2x PCI-E for Corsair CX series? Very much need one or two. Are you local? I'm 20148 and willing to meet or pay express ship.

thanks!

Here's what I've got.  4X 8pin(PSU side) to 6/8 pin PCIe(one PCIe connector per cable, 2 pin separate connector so you can use it as 6 in or 8 pin), 2X 6 pin(PSU side) quad-molex, 1X 6 pin(PSU side) dual-molex, 2X 6 pin(PSU side) quad SATA.

So that would give you a total of 4 6/8 pin PCIe connections, 10 molex, 8 SATA.

And the Corsair branded nylon bag that they came in originally.

They came from an HX850 that I RMAed a while back, Corsair didn't want the cables, just the PSU, and I kept them cause I figured they may come in handy one day (I'm kind of a cable hoarder lol).

$25+shipping to wherever and they're yours.

Let me know if you need some pics to confirm compatibility.

Yes, some photos would be excellent, please.

This is the PCIe side with the optional 2 pin to make it an 8 pin connector.

Here's all of them including the bag:

If I get payment soon I can get them on their way tomorrow, I prefer BTC/LTC.  Will need exact address for shipping quote and will need to know what speed of shipping you want.

This is a very tempting offer! And only $25, are you sure? I was thinking a bit more, like $40 and buyer pays shipping. Would you take that deal? If so, that's good news.** Because while that's a nice mess of cables you've got, not even one of the cables I need is there. It is like a collection of what I don't need/already have.

Member adaseb has what I need and posted a pic, maybe he'll sell it to me! Going to PM him.

** If $40 sounded good, that would make a good starting bid here:

Huh?  Not sure if you're being sarcastic or what here?  Why would you want to pay me more than I'm asking?

You said you needed PCIe cables, right?   There's four of them that came from an HX series PSU, just as you'd asked for.  Not sure how that's everything that you don't need.

Unless this is a snarky/sarcastic way of saying that you can only use cables with 2 PCIe connectors per cable.  If that's the case sorry, I just thought that you needed PCIe connections for a Corsair.  I don't have a mental map of every single cable that I own, I just remembered that I had some left over from a Corsair HX series PSU, which was what you'd specifically mentioned.  I did describe them accurately when I said "one PCIe connector per cable, 2 pin separate connector so you can use it as 6 in or 8 pin".

Forget it then, I guess.

Yeah, I was being a dick. I hit delete on that and thought I had deleted it. Because it was awful dickish.

I apologize.

What I thought would be a simple task has proven most difficult. To my credit I did specify "Basically an 8 pin adapter with 2x PCI-E connectors on the other end. Looks like:" and qualified that as running an S5 with single 750, which has the two 8pins I've always used to run SX Antminers. There are a number of six pin SATA & Peripheral slots on the PSU, but unless I've been missing something those are not to be used.

I did think your price was high! Anyway, my bad, didn't mean to be a dick to somebody trying to help. My plan is to pickup a couple of the cable and keep my eye out for a Kenny Powers edition 1300W + and use that to run two C5's.

Apology accepted.  I took a quick look on eBay and saw them selling for $15 per cable, figured $25 was pretty reasonable for 4 plus some others that may come in handy if you had a bare PSU with missing cabling. Maybe not.  Oh well.

Thank you, I appreciate that. Again... my fault and I do thank you for actually taking a look and trying to help.

Remember... no good deed goes unpunished!

146  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: [Review] Bitmain Antminer S5 on: February 16, 2015, 06:47:58 PM
The 660W is certainly due to the 80 Plus Bronze PSU. I've got 2 S5 and each were only using 580W at the wall using a EVGA 1300W Supernova 80 Plus Gold  PSU. I've now combined 2 S5 to 1 controller card and the 2 combined only pull 1170W at the wall, both running on the EVGA PSU.

Twin S5 using same controller. Modded Delta fans. 120CFM and 148CFM. The temps are 5C cooler with the box fan blowing on them, which also helps circulate the air in my crawl space. Combined the twin S5's are getting 0.508W/GH.
http://www.411px.com/twinS5-withFan.jpg

http://www.411px.com/miners1.jpg
http://www.411px.com/miners2.jpg

The 2 SP20 are running on a Rosewill 1300W 80 Plus Gold. They get about 0.54W/GH

In your shoes I'd get a piece of plywood or similar about 16"x16". Place the on the big miner then stand your S5's up. I've read they can be stacked that way but it does negatively affect cooling.

You may want to look for stainless steel racks as they are open and usually adjustable. If you separated all that gear the airflow from your fan would be more efficient.
147  Economy / Computer hardware / Re: [WTB] Corsair CX Series - 8 pin to 2x (6+2) PCI-E Cable HELP! on: February 16, 2015, 02:03:41 AM

Pretty sure that's the one. Wish they had multiple photos as they don't show the PSU connect. The other issue is when you go to purchase one all the vendors are out of stock.

I do think these are the correct cables. Can anyone confirm? Attempting to get 4x PCI-E connects from 2 slots on CX750M.

ideas help appreciated. as well as good recos and where to buy. Still trying to craft the perfect fan replacements. Want quiet and cool. Also kinda want an LED (blue, purple, or vegas rgbp} with different sequencing, likely hang a pull fan out back with LEDs. Still not 100% on final fan setup. Pics to your setups / advice welcomed.

Well phrased. Even the word bet was in italics.

Thanks, appreciate that.

Now, I'm trying to cash out all these pats on the back and "clever" comments. No cash or coin as of yet.

Apparently, you can bet and if you lose get out of it by saying it was a clever bet. Headed to Vegas to play blackjack. If I win I get paid. And when I lose I'll say "that was a clever hand!" as I take my chips back.

Sells for 25k + at dealership !

Saw a 2007 with 80k miles for 25,999 at the dealer, "pre owned certified"

PLUS they end up financing it, they end up making over 30k!

That car certified by the used car lot, or certified by the manufacturer?
It is high mileage for a manufacturer certification and coverage.

Need bitcoin fast is like the lamest excuse for not accepting escrow.

Do you people actually think someone is going to just send you bitcoin with NO WAY to do anything but cry when the item never shows up?

Who the fuck would do that?HuhHuhHuhHuhHuhHuh

Anyone who sends bitcoin for that watch without escrow is a world class idiot. Needing bitcoin fast? Need your ass down to a pawn shop where he'll tell you to take your fake watch and GTFO.  Then sell your real items for cashish.

I'll buy one of the corsairs, at a later time. If no one buys it, I'll buy it at a later time.

I'm tryin to buy 'em
He won't reply, hmm
Corsair PSU for me,
Zero reply I feel like a flea,
It is peanut butter jelly time.

I'd like to purchase the units, as I've stated in PM's and in discussion, but OP was taken by Jaws like shark. He's been kinda down in the dumps since being eaten almost whole by a shark.

155  Economy / Computer hardware / [WTB] Corsair CX Series - 8 pin to 2x (6+2) PCI-E Cable HELP! on: February 14, 2015, 10:47:49 AM
Hey All!

Looking for some of the OEM pieces (or better) for my CX750M's. These will be powering C5's so I need 4x PCI-E, two per hashing board. Somehow I've managed to misplace / send as bonus a few of these, thought I had more.

Would like to pickup 2 or 3 of them. They are black in color and work with CX and HX series. Basically an 8 pin adapter with 2x PCI-E connectors on the other end. Looks like:

I'd like to pickup 3-4 of them, or suggestions on what is latest/greatest/best deal.

Thanks!
156  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin, How Long Will It Last? on: February 14, 2015, 09:09:57 AM
Bitcoin analysts says that Bitcoin price will have an imminent slump in days to come.
I see these kinds of posts on a regular basis, and I have to wonder whether any of the posters actually believe it, or are just trolling/pumping/dumping.

On the remote possibility that you actually believe what you're posting, let me point out that if any "analyst" could accurately predict that the price was going to go up or down, they would become very rich very quick.  The price is what the price is, and reflects the sum total of all expectations of rise/fall.

An imminent slump in days to come? I read that as "might be time to buy some bitcoin soon".

I've always thought that the media shit-talking about bitcoin was as much a delay tactic as anything. Until the companies and banks that rule this country they all need to make sure there is a big seat at the trough before saying it is a good thing. Same deal with medical / recreational MJ, the naysayers were simply figuring out how to invest in it and profit around the country. Who here is ready for the first chain dispensaries? Not me, cause I don't do drugs... only weed. Smiley

Personally, anytime btc is under or around 200 it is a buy. Then it inevitably rolls up to $250+ and at 260+ it is a sell. Short sighted, but I'm going to let btc from my mining efforts stack up. If I keep at it and stay dilligent I should be able to mine a whole coin (via pools) by August, 2015. Whoop whoop!
157  Economy / Computer hardware / Re: [SELLING] 10 Antminer Batch 3 S5 Units USA Seller on: February 14, 2015, 06:13:16 AM
Aren't these things $370 USD BRAND NEW from BITMAIN at the moment?

I believe you still have to pay shipping on top of that price?

If that's the case then having them $400 in the US where that price includes shipping and the units are still brand new in box seems pretty reasonable.

Pretty reasonable? You mean like listing items for sale then not logging in for a week?

bummer
158  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: Antminer S5 Fan Mods - Little Help? on: February 13, 2015, 10:08:31 PM
Looks like 120mm JetFlo fan is one way to go.

There are many suitable fans...

https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=919018.msg10095261#msg10095261

I'm with two of Gembird DC120SF-12AS3 fans now (120x120x38 mm, 3000 rpm, 124.74 CFM). They are very cheap.  Roll Eyes

That is one hell of a write up! Thank you!

How about the Corsair fans? Any other options? And please, if it is a straight swap that would be ideal. Simply remove old fan, screw in new fan, connect stock connectors, let it rip.

thanks!
159  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: Antminer S5 Fan Mods - Little Help? on: February 13, 2015, 02:23:37 AM
Seems like a limited amount of information out there on this one. Is there a thread or two here someone might point me to?

Looks like 120mm JetFlo fan is one way to go. Using Corsair CX750M's would like a simple swap, if I need splitters to power then via molex can do. Saw a video (no info given), just a once over of the setup with a db meter a few feet away. Looks like a swap of the JetFlo fan for the stock fan, then they added a shrouded fan out back.

Another item/solution I'm hoping to find... a "cold air intake" for the miners. I've got all the cold air you could want by cracking a window. Somebody have a slick window stop with a small intake hose and fan? Kind of stretching this one, but you never know.

thanks

link to the jet flow?  does it move

150cfm?

your window idea interests me.

I could cut a wooden board  width of the window.  use a dryer vent duct air goes right to the s-5

http://www.homedepot.com/p/Master-Flow-6-in-Air-Tite-Take-Off-ATTO6/100143514
http://www.homedepot.com/p/Master-Flow-6-in-x-25-ft-Insulated-Flexible-Duct-R6-Silver-Jacket-F6IFD6X300/100396935

You've got the idea. I figure near freezing air coming in the front (miner faces window) and out the back comes the heat for my apartment.

I think the trick will be having a single board with 3 individual intakes, or one large intake with a feeder shroud. As much as I like mining, I like fooling around with the gear.
