261  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] microCoin MRC - Scrypt-Jane - nFactor - launching Jan 4th 2014! on: January 04, 2014, 11:27:55 AM
Looks like  a Quick quick coin clone or velocity coin clone..... but this time no POS to keep the chain healthy after the big rewards vanish.

So really nothing new and an inferior coin to the ones just launched a couple of days ago.

= no point coin again.

Actually, microCoin originates from TIX, which comes from Copperbars. I'm not sure if VelocityCoin uses the changed nfactor, either. And POS can be implemented later on, but at the moment it's not relevant.

will there be a pool up and running ready for launch?
No. We don't trust the wallet or source code to anyone before launch. Anyone is welcome to create a pool after launch. The nFactor period will last long enough for even smaller miners to catch up even if it takes 1 or 2 days for a pool to go up. We will contact pool owners after launch and set bounties accordingly as we mine microCoins, too.

No giveway?
There will be giveaways after the coin launches. Since there is no premine, the dev team will have to earn microCoins by mining and buying just like everyone else.

will this coin have POS
Not as of now. POS minting could possibly be introduced later, though.

I just realized that the coin logo only shows in my local web. Uploaded it elsewhere now. Can you see it now?

Why was the 0.1 BTC reward taken out of the first post, and all the posts with suggestions deleted?

A bit low.
Are you sure you're in the right thread?
267  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] microCoin MCR - Scrypt-Jane - nFactor - launching Jan 4th 2014! on: January 03, 2014, 11:53:35 PM
I don't understand who the fuck want coins with total supply more than 200m it's so aids...
Well, it is called microCoin so I think it's appropriate. Either this or decimal amounts.
268  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] microCoin MCR - Scrypt-Jane - nFactor - launching Jan 4th 2014! on: January 03, 2014, 09:13:08 PM
First reward halving at 32,000,000,000 MCR ?? i don't understand frist block this reward? is not just for some people
It means that when the first block reward halving happens at block 80 000, the moneysupply will be at approximately 32,000,000,000 MCR. I'll remove that, since it seems to be unnecessary information and confusing.
269  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] microCoin MCR - Scrypt-Jane - nFactor - launching Jan 4th 2014! on: January 03, 2014, 09:05:52 PM
How much premine?
Forgot to include that. There is completely zero premine. Edited the OP and now it should say that under max moneysupply.

About microCoin
microCoin uses scrypt-jane POW mining with modified nFactor.
With the modified nFactor the coin will keep decreasing in GPU mining power
GPU mining power will slowly decrease and GPU mining will become a lot slower than it was during the start.
This period of mining overall helps close the gap between CPU and GPU mining, resulting in more profitable and fair mining rewards for CPU miners also.
GPU mining will still always be faster than CPU mining, but the modified nFactor will give microCoin more long-term scarcity and value.
microCoin aims to be a deflationary currency for investors. The microCoin dev team will set bounties and seek to make services for microCoin.
microCoin can equally be used as a long-term trading instrument for investors as well as a currency for shops, games and any other services.
The settings given at launch are most likely not the final specifications, since they can and most likely will be changed with a hardfork later on to add or change values.
microCoin will always be open to suggestions and will be modified based on popular requests.
All changes will be notified long beforehand and the safety of investors is always a primary concern.

nFactor change dates:

General specs:

Algorithm: Scrypt-Jane Proof-Of-Work with modified nFactor
Block Time: 32 seconds
Max moneysupply: 100,000,000,000 MRC
No Premine

Block Rewards:

Blocks 1-10,000 - 0.0001 MRC (To set difficulty and test network)
Blocks 10,000-160,000 - Block reward is the same as block number. (For fair launch)
Example: Block number 10,000 = 10,000MRC, Block number 160,000 = 160,000MRC
Blocks 160,000 - 310,000 - Block reward descending by one for each block. (For deflation)
Example: Block number 160,000 = 160,000MRC, Block number 160,001 = 159,999MRC and so on.
310,000+ Block rewards counts down by 0.01 until the block reward is 1000.
When the block reward is 1000, it will stay as that.

The correct settings for your  miner are: --scrypt --Nfmin 4 --Nfmax 30 --StartT 1389028879 --queue 0 --scan-time 2 --expiry 4

Example solo mining script:
microcoinminer.exe -o 127.0.0.1 -u user -p x --scrypt --Nfmin 4 --Nfmax 30 --StartT 1389028879 --queue 0 --scan-time 2 --expiry 4
(See solo.bat in miner folder)

Easy CPU mining:
Open wallet, go to command console and type: setgenerate true -1

Wallet settings:
microcoin.conf example:
rpcport=3232
rpcuser=user
rpcpassword=x
rpcallowip=*
server=1
listen=1
addnode=84.251.34.142:3232

The wallet folder also has a microcoin.conf file and a copy_conf_file.bat.
Make changes to the .conf and run copy_conf_file.bat and it will copy that .conf file into the Appdata microCoin folder.

271  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Which exchanges should I look at using? on: January 03, 2014, 05:27:35 PM
Don't use MtGox if you ever want to get your money out in USD. BTC-E Is currently the best trading site for daytrading especially. If you're looking for a good altcoin exchange there is none. BTC-E has a very small variety of coins but great volume. Cryptsy has good volume and lots of coins but the site is very laggy and uncomfortable to use. You might lose money due to trade or transfer lag. I know lots of people have.

You'll eventually get your money. It'll probably take a month or two if it goes like usual mtgox withdraws.
Gox is such a scam.

Maybe you could try changing to another bank. Most banks don't have ridiculous fees like that
