Few more days till the end of IPO.

People are still doubtful, that this could be a scam.

Is there a way or information that you can give to assure them that this is not a scam? I have been promoting this Alcurex and i received messages that the 50% profit is too good to be true.

In my opinion, if we can remove the doubts that this is a scam, a lot of people will invest in this coin and support this exchange.

I lost 112 BTC in Mtgox. I could understand their feeling to doubt the exchanges from now on.

It's highly likely that this is a scam, what company in their right mind sells off 50% of the shares before even starting up? This, tied with the fact that they have a profitability calculator should sound alarm bells.

I also like how they've recently set the default on the estimated monthly profits to five times more than what it used to be. Just because they're going to implement leverage doesn't necessarily mean a 5-10x increase in profits, not everyone's going to use it. It feels like a petty attempt to try and get as much BTC as possible before the 10th March.

Also, i'm pretty sure that they're only implementing leverage with the forex markets, so there's a high chance that they'll never reach the company value to even implement leverage.

Please use your brains people, don't invest more than you can afford to lose.

It's actually 25% and not 50%. Please read the OP properly.

OP... we own 25% but getting 50%, it's the same...?
quote: "leaving the site with 50% of all shares. 25% in public ownership and 25% in our ownership. This in practice when sharing profits shares it 50% to us and 50% to other shareholders."
but when will you claim the other 50%? When you claim it after launch it is 75% for you and 25% for the public.

Not exactly, because we will still have 25% shares that we can sell years from now. We want to have some shares that we can sell far in the future, but we still want our offer to actually be profitable for those who invest in us.

I guess there is no cost efficient to prove anything as this point. But their business is good. If they miss this IPO oh well, i will be selling them shares at a premium prices.

Do we actually get 50% of the profit as dividend? What about the development and improvement?

Yes, public shareholders get 50% of the profit alcurEX exchange makes. The IPO funds, our personal funds and the 50% profit alcurEX gets to keeps will be used for maintaining and developing the company and exchange.

The IPO has been extended to March 10th due to the addition of alcurEX leverage, which will potentially increase revenue by 5-10x

yes my favorite feature!!! I will definitely own shares of this Alcurex.

ALso, i remember people in the past have been complaining that they could not short btc. Once we get fiat into the system, do you think we could apply shorting of BTC?

I will be buying back the shares of those people who changes their mind. at 90%.

Glad that you like it.

Leverage will be available on fiat markets once they are added, so yes, shorting of BTC will be possible once fiat markets are available.

Hello,
How do we know you'll not simply leave the website to die once you've got the investments?

There is much more for us to gain by having an exchange to develop, expand and earn steady revenue from.

We are also the developers of microCoin, which we have been actively developing for almost 2 months and alcurEX is part of its development also.

Our plans are much more long-term focused than short-term.

What motivated your decision to switch from Belize to Estonia?  What problems/opportunities arose?  Also, do you have any sort of projections for monthly profit in the near or short term?  If we were to follow in the footsteps of poloniex, with a daily trading volume of 193 btc, that comes out to a monthly revenue of 11.58 btc at a 0.2% trading fee.  Is this in the ballpark of what you expect?

Also, just my input:  I have a feeling users are willing to tolerate higher trading fees if they are given the opportunity to participate in the profit in some way, like mcxNow does with its fee shares and interests on deposits (which I think are a fantastic idea).  I think maybe something along these lines is in your guys' plan with the other 25% of public shares?

Sorry for the delay. We have been busy with microCoin and the new alcurEX leverage.
http://alcurex.info/alcurex-leverage/

Due to Finnish regulation we will need a real employee who handles the flow of money within the country the company is officially located.

With this in mind we would much prefer having employees located in Estonia as it is very close to Finland, is protected by EU legislation and is still relatively loose in regulation.

Company revenue would still be tax-free as long as the money stays within the company's accounts. Employee pays are of course taxed accordingly.

Poloniex is a good example for profit estimates, but with the addition of alcurEX leverage the revenue could increase by 5-10x.

This estimate comes from the assumption that people who use the leverage will most likely make more fast trades for small profit.

And because people can now trade with a higher capital than what they actually have the exchange and its shareholders will earn fee profits as if the volume was 5-10x larger.

We also expect this function to bring more investors to the site as many exchanges do not have such a function.

Another Idea is to allow people to lend coins to other people with interest. This loaned coins will be used for margins. ofcourse there will be a margin call when the position is losing.
I really like that idea.  That happens on the forums already so there will be plenty of people willing to use it (including me).
We will add features like this. We are already in the process of creating the first expansions to alcurEX. Active development on them will start once the exchange is launched.
72  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] microCoin MRC - alcurEX - Scrypt-Jane - nFactor - Mandatory wallet update! on: February 21, 2014, 01:44:45 PM
Hello,

I did send some microcoins from poloniex to my wallet (previous version) some hours ago (address 188SMWANo2RykHo1DqGuwHuQTC8fbeQMU).

After realizing about the "out of sync" message for some hours I looked for info on this thread and downloaded the new client but the coins have not arrived.

Transaction was 8dcf4d393ec6465ef640bb9f437c1904e4b5f89b9b56e5efc04e9d59842d4f6c

Is there anything i can do?

Thanks,
Poloniex is still using the old wallet. I have sent them an email and PM on this matter and they will probably update their wallets as soon as they notice. The transactions are probably fine, you just need to wait for them to update their wallet.

Should be. I can't say for sure, but there shouldn't be any reason why it won't go through. You just have to give it a little time. You can always try "repairwallet" command if you're not getting any confirmations.

No need to solo mine. Pool is working again:
mrc.blocksolved.com

Everything seems to be back to normal now. I have sent PMs and email to all pool and exchange owners.

Everyone update to the latest wallet and do not make any transactions until the network is fully established and pools are running
76  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] microCoin MRC - alcurEX - Scrypt-Jane - nFactor - Mandatory wallet update! on: February 21, 2014, 11:57:53 AM
So it's good now to mine again on pools? And to update the wallet do i need to make a backup of wallet? or just copy the new wallet?
You should be able to just run the new client. It's always best to take a full backup of your AppData/Roaming/microcoin wallet, though.

We have found block #124,000 by solomining and the blockchain seems to be working fine. Please update to the latest wallet.

So problem is fixed?
Possibly. We need miners to go to blocksolved pool once they finish updating to test if the fix works or not.

Please update to the latest microCoin wallet. This update is mandatory and older clients will not work anymore.

Kernel.cpp Line 20

// Hard checkpoints of stake modifiers to ensure they are deterministic
static std::map<int, unsigned int> mapStakeModifierCheckpoints =
    boost::assign::map_list_of
    ( 0, 0x0e00670bu )
   ( 124000, 0xe791f02cu )

    ;

It looks like block 124000 is looking for 0xa4251ce5b54ee576 but got 0xe791f02cu in checkpoints array.

I was also looking into this ...
My understanding is that the second checkpoint (124000) should not be set at all yet.

It was most probably in the coin MRC was cloned from, because this coin already went over block 124000. But the value is probably valid for this coin blockchain, not for MRC.

Anyone can confirm ?

EDIT1: anyway, it clearly is not required also because proof-of-stake is not enabled yet in MRC ... it should kick in only after one full year (60*60*24*365 seconds, as stated in main.cpp)

EDIT2: the 124000 value does not come from the PPC code (they have other checkpoints for the proof of stake, but not this one). From which coin was MRC cloned ? This value most probably comes from that ancestor.

MRC comes from TIX. We have found the proof-of-stake checkpoint and removed it. We now face the problem of testing if the problem is fixed or not. This should create a hardfork, but fortunately the fork the older client is on should never be able to go past block 123,999.

Does anyone have any suggestions? We are considering putting the wallet for download and getting pools to use it and see if it works.
