I have prepared another attempt to stop the monopol mining of EAC.
What is the plan?
Phase 1: If you applied my patch, please delete it and go back to the official EAC wallet (release 1.3.4) and wait for sync.
Phase 2: I will make a hidden branch of the blockchain. As soon as it gain a sufficiently big advantage in the cumulative difficulty, I will conect it to the network and the original branch (mined by attackers) will be orphaned. Then everyone can start mining on arbitrary public mining pool (e.g. Prohashing).
Phase 3: Checkpoints will be added to stabilize new blockchain.
Phase 4: Upgrade protocol version to disconect attackers from the network.

And can I still use my old wallet.dat to get my coins back? yw, the wallet.dat is located at C:\Documents and Settings\Administrator\Application Data\EarthCoin You have to replace Administrator with your login user on windows. note that the "Application Data" directory is normaly hidden so you have to set "Show hidden files and folders" in your folder options. And yes you have to replace the wallet.dat file with your old one to get acces to your coins in your old wallet. |

I don´t know which wallet you have there, but my Earthcoin wallet version 1.3.2 is syncing very well. The latest block is 1.414.135. All fine. There's huge volume in btc38, 7416519727 EAC in the last 24h. But the issue with the wallets seem to still be on, although it's kinda fishy that you can trade, but not get a new deposit address. Maybe someone should contact Linki ( https://github.com/linki). Earthcoin still has the trade volume and interest from the community, it shouldn't be abandoned. That's good news Aaron finally a new wallet is in sight, I managed to compile earthcoind.exe 1.3.2 on windows a while ago but had no time yet to take the next steps. The binary is also quite large 71mb instead of arround 6mb. |

I realy like your ideas about the donations account I think it would be a good development for earthcoin. Of course such things should be completely transparant on the site to give trust. In the beginning of eac there was a premine (for the development of EAC if I remember correctly) there was so much discussion about that. It never became clear where it has gone, probably sold. As for the change in algo are there any risks or cons and how does the change go into work can you give more insight in doing that, should every eac miner stop mining script with the old client at once or can the different algo's run next to each other for a while? And a hurray for myself I compiled earthcoind.exe |

I've been looking for a dying coin to pick up...I think this would be a nice one. There appears to be people still mining and market cap still shows trading around $4000 per day. I have some ideas but, it will take time as I'm extremely busy. I would like to hear from others also. I now own earthcoin.us and can host the site on one of my personal servers. For now, keep mining and trading. Aaron
