Hi community!
Please help me yo understand what am i doing wrong.
I decided to lower powereat of my rig. Before everything CM 14.7 shows something like 90W GPU power consumption. Totoal about 360 on 4 GPUs rig. Okey. Wattmeter show 620 Watt at the wall. 1st WTF. After a lot of work and experiments i managed to lower core and memory waltages to about 850 , lowered mem clock and etc. Now CM shows 55-57 watt per GPU , it suits info that shows HWinfo about GPU chip power ( so lets say in miner should be "GPU chip power consumption"). BUT...... WTF at the wattmerer i see almost the same 600 Watt , in miner i see "Total GPUs power consumption: 225 Watts"
Where Am i wrong ?
Best Regards.
you should not expect to see proper power consumption numbers from software especially on AMD. sorry, didin said cards type - rx 470 4g. Isnt it a little to big power consumption for only 4 cards and other suff ? i suppose 4*90=360+60 the rest+*1.1 PSU not efficiensy = 430 Watt. It seems something wrong going on NEVER take software voltage value on RX. The only true value is at wall. 600W for 4 cards, it's a little high. Your estimated 90w is wrong, 110-120w is more "acceptable" on ETH. So 120*4+60 *1.1 give 594w ... Check if your voltage is correctly applied.

So, in date of 19/07 you've mined 6000 blocks, right ? Now chain is at block 127xx, so you have 50% of the coins, and probably more if you have continued mining ...

Your watts are just impossible with these voltages, if we are talking about ETH
That is more like 92 + 50 watts = 140w or around 170w or so, remember that many apps dont show the true used power. The 92w is just the core watts. The rx 580 uses a lot more than the rx 480 at same voltage, rx 480 around 68w - 75w at 900mv, rx 580 85w - 95w 900mv. Strange. Same model for 480 and 580 ? Talking about partial power has no sense. Just power at wall is a true value.

I proceed like this, I don't know if it's okay but I can have quite stable results. Example with one Sapphire Rx570 Nitro 4 gb Hynix, vga bios coming with 2 different chip strap, Elpida and Hynix but my card is equipped only with Hynix H5GC4H24AJ. I tested a lot of strap but memory limit without error is in range 2045 - 2050 mhz, acceptable mem error until 2070 mhz more than 2070 i can not go without thousand of error. Overclock and undervolt from Phoenix Miner or with OverdriveNT with the same result. Ref parameter is set to 30. 1100 - 2050 [900 - 900] 30.65 86w 1110 - 2050 [900 - 900] 30.7 86w 1120 - 2050 [900 - 900] 30.8 86w 1130 - 2050 [900 - 900] 30.95 86w 1140 - 2050 [900 - 900] 31.3 86w 1150 - 2050 [925 - 900] 31.55 90w 1160 - 2050 [925 - 900] 31.6 92w 1170 - 2050 [925 - 900] 31.65 92w 1180 - 2050 [925 - 900] 31.65 92w Clock > 1160 with ref 30 dont give me more hs so i set to 1150 - 2050 [ 925 - 900 ] for ~ 90w and go stable for days without error. I can go down with core to ~915mv but after some time go to 0 h/s and restart. Some question: - for cvddc i made test with increase of 10mv each step, but effective cvddc in hwinfo is always a few mv less, exist a precise way to increase or decrease the core voltage? 6 mv step or 8 mv step or other?
- plus or minus mv to memory affect memory error?
Your watts are just impossible with these voltages, if we are talking about ETH

I always set core and mem voltage at the same value. If not, the higher voltage is applied on both. And always starting at 900 and then adjusting per card.

Well, that's a bad news

Now, the voltage.
i have 3 RX 570's nitro+ 8gb
1º 1150/2250 831-837mv core/ 1000mv mem 31.4mh/s 2º 1150/2190 831-837mv core/ 1000mv mem 30,8mh/s 3º 1150/2125 831-837mv core/ 1000mv mem 30,3mh/s
They were stable for months at this settings. I tested for two days all of my cards before going into the mining rig. i programmed the bios in all of them and i tweaked as much as possible the voltages except for memory. ETH is a pretty intensive algo with the memory, and i prefered to forget about having problems with undervolting. I suppose your undervolt saves you some money.
my 2x6 mining rig are off. and they will continue to be off for a large period of time. I will only turn them on if i can get 100$ profit per month or more after electricity bill, which i think will not happen this year. At current prices , and the very expensive cost per kW i would be losing around 15 $ for month with bills of around 350€ or a bit more in summer due to fans having to work hard in my room to deal with heat, specially where i live.
So....yeah...mining is not worth for me.
Are you sure applying different voltages have an effect ? What about power at wall ? In my case, applying differents voltages between core and mem had no effect, the higher voltage was always applied on both. Confirmed with power at wall. Not retested recently, i'm always applying same voltage on core and mem.

Yeah that will be awesome having soon support for 5700XT cards I will get my 5700XT only around 20-21 july, but will try to investigate some things before that date. ouch ! Mine is on the way and will get it monday

Hi, how pricing works ? If in 1 month a rig is 50% on hiveos for standard mining and 50% other time on Windows, paying time on hiveos is one complete month ? Or pricing is only for running hiveos time ? Thanks

Hi,
I tried to bring back my RX580 (Red devil 8gb Samsung) to the original bios in order to use claymore 14.7 with rxboost and the strap function. (I use windows 10)
My problem is that every time I try to set-up the core voltage in claymore (I use -mvdcc 850) , the system crash almost immediately. (blank screen).
If I don't use the -mvdcc command, it is working and I get 10% more mh/s but I use 25% more watt than before so it is not very good.
I have tried to change the core voltage in MS afterburner (Core voltage -100) but it doesn't have any effect on my power consumption….(like if it was not working).
Anyone can help me please?
Thank you!
mvddc is memory voltage, not core. I don't know why but you must always use -cvddc AND -mvddc with the same value on RX

XRN already exists, Saronite ...

Yeah that will be awesome having soon support for 5700XT cards

He probably just want to steal some mining rigs or asics ...

Yes I'm checking this card, but I need a few days to see what hashrate it can achieve.
Good news !

Ordered one 5700XT for testing. Devs you have some days for update your miners

2*850w psu is overkill for 900w of gpu ! just buy less power models and take some good dual pcie cables if it's your point.
I'm running 12 RX 570 on a Fintech without any problem. Don't know about Nvidia.
