I'm thinking of a ₩ symbol in the middle of a realistic looking coin with some sort of WAS message in the background and #WeAreSatoshi around the coin. I can't do the curve text but here's the idea for you to build upon.

Where is that troll that thinks mintcoin going to 1000 sats SOON when you need him.

You meant him? https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?action=profile;u=110152

We do need mint to go to 1000 sats though  Cheesy

1125  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][WAS] - WeAreSatoshi SHA256 Coin - Now trading (WAS/BTC) at RockyTrade.net! on: July 03, 2014, 01:42:57 AM
I'll update the OP to include the bounty / coin redesign contest thread.

I've also gone ahead and closed the poll.  So, what we've learned is that although the majority supports all of these changes, there is a subset of folks that are against it.  I acknowledge and appreciate that not everyone is going to be satisfied.

What I'd like to do is simply keep moving forward.  WAS v1 is being forked to support the coin swap, so worst case scenario, the v1 supporters are welcome to keep the old fork running.  It has been updated and is in a good position to simply run for the foreseeable future with no developer intervention.  Someone will need to 1) run pools or facilitate mining 2) do general PR / recruit exchanges.

Is everyone on board with this?  When MrData is ready, are we ready to release the WAS v2 client?

Yup yup hooray. Will the wallet look like Silk's?  Wink

I create a new thread for the Logo redesign bounty to get more exposure. Feel free to let me know if you guys want to change anything and link it to your OP. Thanks,

1127  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Marketplace (Altcoins) / Artists Needed / 0.1 BTC Bounty Offered For Winning Design - WeAreSatoshi on: July 02, 2014, 03:26:48 PM
Wanted a New Logo Design for WAS (WeAreSatoshi)

The community's voting for the best one and the winner will receive the bounty of 0.1 BTC

Hi All- As you know WeAreSatoshi is being relaunched by a Coin Revival Team and I want to make a contribution to make it better with the release of the new wallet and updated services.

WeAreSatoshi Coin was created to remind everyone that each of us can make a difference in the world.  Since its launch the original developer made it a priority to donate coins to charity and work with others to overall make a positive impact.

The main thread is here: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=661588.0

Here are the requirements and it can be changed at anytime.

1. The coin will be used for charity, facilitate trade, in stores and to buy gold / silver, etc.
2. Gold, Silver, Bronx, White or Black - Anything you want and be creative and support the message of the coin (WeAreSatoshi)
3. The Revival Team receives the original artwork (PSD or in the original format of your program)
4. The Revival Team has the rights to use and modify it any way they see fit

Here's an interesting calculation to consider.  The current value of a single WAS is 0.00000000007 BTC, less trade fees for converting WAS / DOGE then DOGE / BTC...  Assuming that things remain constant, the 1 / 1000 reduction will place the new value at 7 satoshis.

You could debate how PoS will impact the value of the coin, but I think it would likely increase in value because folks will be holding instead of selling.

So the smart one will jump up and down holding a dollar bill instead of the $1,000.00 check  Huh

we need a paper wallet generator. how or where to make that happen .

ACN will release it after the new wallet build

I'm surprise to see a No vote. Here's why you should consider when put down a vote

You're killing the coin if the current team walks away:

1. No active dev- MrBrew gave up and express no desire to continue working on the coin
2. No reliable pool, the current official pool will go away and supernova might walk away with little to no miners.
3. No exchange. RockyTrade will remove WAS from it due to little to no activity. There's no activity in BTC market, same with Europex, they re-added it back to Doge due to recent interest spike of this movement
4. No block explorer, no rich list

Dead WAS

Looks like Europex has re-enabled WAS but with a Doge pair:

https://www.europex.eu/#!coin/doge/was

We are now on two exchanges. Wink

I'd like to sponsor for a logo redesign contest. Should i just start a new thread in the other board? Any objections? You guys will have to give me some verbiage and vote for the best one.

You can use this thread for it. Unless you want control over the title and OP. If that is the case, I'll link our OP to your thread.

OK- This thread works fine. I'll put out 0.1 BTC for a logo redesign contest. One single chosen winner takes it all and has to have something to show our message, could be Gold, Silver, Bronx or Black. Be creative and willing to give up intellectual right to our team to use in website/marketing and the likes. Feel free to add/modify the requirements.

Is it possible to make WAS2 with 0 premine, BUT depending on how much you had in you old wallet, permanently give higher POS for new coins?
For example. If someone just starts mining he has 10% per year. If you had 100mil WAS in your old wallet you'll get 20% and so on? SHA256 of cause.
Can this be done?

I don't think that would be possible, at least not in any kind of reasonable and secure manner. Since coins are all just tied to an address and not an overall identity there wouldn't be a good way to control who gets the higher percent and who doesn't so it would probably be exploited.

I would be the one doing the coin swap. I'm the original founder of CoinPayments.net if that builds any trust with you. The coin swap can go on indefinitely or there can be a 3-6 month limit or something. If there is a time limit and depending on how many coins are left they could be:
1) Destroyed
2) Given to the faucet to give away
3) Used for bounties/services
4) Other/some combination of the above

I think we need to limit the swap because there will be no hash on the old network to secure the old coins. The unclaimed coins should be split in half to be destroyed and the other half go toward faucet and bounties.

Edit: Also as for financial incentive I don't know about AmericanComputerNerd but I don't own any WAS; so it's not like I'm getting some big payday from this; I'm doing it for the fun and the experience and because people came to our thread and requested it.

The only WAS I'm holding is from pool fees, that will go to cover domain registration and on-going hosting costs when I am able to sell them.  Running a pool isn't free, unfortunately.  I try to break even...

I'm also holding 58 Million WAS from MrBrew, that are supposed to go to a good cause.  The only reason I have these is because someone else was concerned about them being in circulation.  As a community we will need to decide what to do with these at some point.

Ah hah- I caught you lying. You're also holding the faucet coins  Grin Jokes aside, both MrData and ACN have not any incentives so far and they've been doing an amazing job. In BCT alone, we have 9 pages in 1 week, that's something vs 22 pages in 4 months with most of them go "is this coin dead?"
1136  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][WAS] - WeAreSatoshi SHA256 Coin - Now trading (WAS/BTC) at RockyTrade.net! on: July 01, 2014, 04:07:34 PM
I am For change man....   i just don't think up and changing everything all at once algo and all will really help...   is all i am getting at..   not no change, but what change...   all i am concerned about not that its changing but how..   i think just a reduction in the money supply would be a good start  how much  i dunno  but changing the algorithm is a bit drastic...      That is all Wink

You can't just change the supply without rewrite the code and while we're at it, why not go for the better code? See what I mean?
1137  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][WAS] - WeAreSatoshi SHA256 Coin - Now trading (WAS/BTC) at RockyTrade.net! on: July 01, 2014, 03:46:19 PM
I am for Making Things better  I want to make sure you guys understand.    i do not believe we need an algo change.  how about this  add algos with sha256d,   the developers of rucoin figured it out...   that would be an upgrade that im sure would gain attention.   rucoin died well barely holding on because of it's closed source...    i don't blame em for not giving it out...  best client i have ever used  built in chat/exchange/multi algos  and aux mining....

OK- So we're heading somewhere. Here's the beauty of it, if you have a bunch of WAS (since you're been mining for a while) you don't have to do anything. You'll gain more WAS than mining since we're staking 15% in the first 3 months and it's way easier just to unlock the wallet and receive coins. The new algo is way better with updated codes for staking than SHA's code base and it's more secure to prevent 51% attach.
1138  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][WAS] - WeAreSatoshi SHA256 Coin - Now trading (WAS/BTC) at RockyTrade.net! on: July 01, 2014, 03:19:00 PM
sorry about my language...    I just get upset when 2 - 3 people think they can make the decisions, think they know whats best for the whole.   a crappy poll on this lame forum is not enough to gain a consensus of what the WAS community wants to do. half the people that deal with WAS  probbally cant even vote on the poll..  i can't because  i'm not the troll people think i am, i do not lurk these forums. I know I am not the only one, so please be fair about it.  all i ask    p.s.  if i could vote,  it would be for a no because of biased opinions  thanks...   there are probably users who don't even speak English, but  this poll on this forum is enough....

Apology accepted. I understand the need for general consensus and I ask ACN and the team to extend the vote for another day. If you want to help, please PM all users in the original thread which is not very many. We got here because some truly believe in the message behind the coin and I'm one of them. We have SuperNova as a 3rd party pool just because I PM'ed the pool owner and asked for another pool to balance the hash-rate and you're mining there. So a little work goes a long way. Let's join force to make the coin better. Cheers!
1139  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][WAS] - WeAreSatoshi SHA256 Coin - Now trading (WAS/BTC) at RockyTrade.net! on: July 01, 2014, 03:00:05 PM
Don't let the single troll get to you. We're just getting started...

oh im a fucking troll now because i have an opinion that differs from yours   lmfao   general consensus my ass     gtfo losers

Just think about it. What will WAS do without the revival? What will WAS do if we keep the SHA algo? Crypto is about changing and we are all adults, no need to act like little uneducated kids at least with the language anyways.
1140  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][WAS] - WeAreSatoshi SHA256 Coin - Now trading (WAS/BTC) at RockyTrade.net! on: July 01, 2014, 02:44:05 PM
...

The way I see it, we still have the general consensus.  You are in the minority.

We picked up a coin that had been abandoned, after members of the community reached out to us. Everything was positive until yesterday evening / this morning.

If this is not what the community wants, I am prepared to walk.  I'm not going to get rich off of this coin, this is a hobby.

Don't let the single troll get to you. We're just getting started...
