Good to see you're into this as well! We have revived a couple of coins already and are working on interesting new concepts.

Would be cool if you would join us!

You can find our topic here: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=576714.260;topicseen

Our irc channel is #coinrevival

Join force for WAS. What can be better? We need to be on a good exchange.

The response from Bittrex.com was that they get 100's of requests to add new coins and can only add 1 or 2 a week.  Their process involves tweeting to them explaining what the coin is, why it's great, and why Bittrex is great.

I've honestly never used Bittrex, and don't want to BS them.  So, let me throw this out to you guys...  Why is Bittrex great?  Why is it the right place to re-launch WAS?

I'd say BT is a fast exchange, US based and they've been helping the community with many swaps.

I've got a Pool up for you guys, lets see how it works:

https://was.suprnova.cc

It has been some time since the last SHA256 Coin, I think that was DIEM or so.. But it should work quite well, i've set initial diff to 512 which is a bit high, it will auto-adapt after 60 seconds and step down if you're not submitting shares fast enough, so please be patient if you are not seeing submitted shares instantly.

Its 1 % fee, has all the Standard-Suprnova-Quirks like DDoS protection and it even rings me out of bed if the pool goes down in the middle of the night Smiley

Have fun ! Smiley

oc

All right. Thanks for doing that and can you please update the Payout Threshold to at least 1mil? 250 is going to be super quick with the 25k block.

Again, your coins are safe, and your hash power can be redirected to the ispace.co.uk pool.  No major issues, just an inconvenience.

Both iSpace and RamCloud are down. There is one working pool @ http://sha.mine-pool.net/was but I've haven't any luck getting a respond from them.

No, I don't want to win by cheating, not my style Grin

How about I add 200k to the prize pot & we'll make it for the person (NOT staff!) who makes the ten thousandth post?

Nah, still 499  Wink

I think we'd benefit from PoW algo change + PoS. We could also go with anon features, that would attract a lot of people, but I'm not quite sure if that's a good way to go...

crymzyn, about that Linux wallet you spoke about, any news? Already sent you a PM, as requested.

POS is the hype of the last couple months, look at Mint/Zeit/ECC. I think increase the reward and reduce the total coins is better, but it's up to the community  Cheesy
1168  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] TopCoin [TOP] ★ Crypto Learning Center coming soon! ★ Practical toolset! on: June 23, 2014, 04:53:24 PM
@topdude: how much coins are now max?

About 26billion.

We will debug and then fork it before the end of this minting period (in about 6 weeks), probably with higher final block rewards, like 100 / 1000 or maybe random.

I feel that the 1 coin blocks and low hash was what was causing its demise.

We can all decide how it should be forked like adjusting rewards, changing algo, or what ever you people want. so be sure post your suggestions and ideas here.

Some people have already suggested some type of burn system, or buyback to lower the amount of coins, not sure if that would acheive anything positive or how it can be done but it will be good to debate it. Cool

Even with 26 billion, it will stay between Karma and Panda at 2-3 sat at best. What if we do a 5/1 reduction to bring it to Dev and Jackpot level at 17-24 Sat? It'll be the first coin with that huge level of reduction, isn't it?
1169  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][WAS] - WeAreSatoshi SHA256 Coin - Relaunched by Coin Revival team on: June 23, 2014, 02:28:43 PM
Great to see a big come back.
Mine it for couple months then dead end. But now will look for another brighter furture.

Hopefully we can spread the word.

The faucet is paying out nicely and there are plenty Smiley

Going to go start mining. I love the name and the concept! Think Ill rent a couple TH tonight. The last couple times Ive rented miners has turned out pretty well.

Difficulty jumped up to 12K, it might be better to rent 1TH and spread longer instead of 2TH for a few days.

How will you prove the charity donations?

I just checked this address WXCHjJYUpPzFhWXXuZjUyQ76hTXpCcJeeG using the new block explorer and everything's still there. I guess MrBrew (The original Dev) never sold any due to its price.

Way to go and great job guys. What you've done in one day would take months for others. The block explorer is awesome. I can't wait to mine the new pool since most of the current ones are dead.

Just received 20 mil more WAS for the faucet. It is up now at http://explore.was.club/faucet.php

Should get another 20 so I sent all the WAS that I promised.

Cool, I'll start work on it now. The address is WhYWfWnJHjYL22YWrjQhM1cuBA8KoUZaJ3 (this will be the cold wallet for the faucet, just so a lot of coins aren't on the server so people don't try to hack it.)

Sent 10mils WAS. Please confirm and I'll send the rest tomorrow.

Messaged both Bluetrade and Bittrex for consideration.

Thanks, I got it. How much do you figure it should pay out per person? It could also be random from X to Y amount too.

Can we randomize from 100 to 5000? I'll send 50 mils so that will be enough for 12-15k transactions.

Just sent 683,204 to that address to help you start it.

I'll send a bunch but most likely really late tonight since I'm 13 weeks behind on my new wallet.

New block explorer is up now at http://explore.was.club/
I'll be glad to add a faucet to it if someone is willing to donate the initial giveaway funds.

All right MrData- Please post an address and I'll send some WAS.  Wink

Check this thread out - Coin Revival Group:

https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=659410.0;topicseen

This what I was saying earlier. However they are not accepting any new coins to work on.

This is a different group not associate to The revival foundation? http://cryptocoinrevival.com

I salute you on your good intermediary skills and taking the initiative here

While we are doing our analysis and prep work, can I get everyone that is interested in this coin to tell me a few things?  It will help me to get a good picture of the community, and more importantly see who is active.

First, what each of you think need to be done to make this coin successful?

Second, what attracted you to the coin to start with?

First of all I think it needs to stay as an SHA coin due to its name, the big question is that will it attract enough miners to sustain the network when it reaches 1000 coins per block? POS might not be a bad idea but then not many POS coins are doing well anyway.

We need multiple phases:

Phase I.
1. New Win/Mac/Linux wallets with HB patch.
2. Logo revamp/tweak. The current logo is nice, just needs a bit tweaking to make it more fancy
2. Android and IOS wallets (now with Apple's blessing)
3. Additional Block explorer, Rich list
4. Dedicated Faucet

Phase II.
1. Some sort of outreach or charity initiatives
2. Online wallet generator, additional game sites
3. Get listed on decent exchanges, WAS is not on any mainstream exchanges (Got delisted from Europex a couple days ago, Cryptoaltex and CryptoRush are dead)

Phase III.
1. Coinpayment and the likes
2. Coinkite and other dedicated merchant services
3. Online shops that accept WAS

I like this coin because it was not a P&D to begin with and all the instant mined coins have been given away to charity. It's really fast and solid for a coin.
