I think the dev is either lazy or deluded or incompetent.
Of course, the real threat to network security is arguably NiceHash, where it is possible to rent enough hashpower to execute a 51% attack on the smaller coins that use a common algo. Since NiceHash is unlikely to go away any time soon, and their location in Slovenia makes them all but untouchable, prudent coin devs should be figuring out how to mitigate such an attack vector now, rather than waiting for it to happen... Again.
Worst case scenario would be to rush to make some changes in code which we did not tested. Please understand, Developers are extremly busy with testing this anounced changes. Also new white paper about how we are going to protect Zen from 51% attack will be soon published, and those are priorities. No matter from where this hashrate come from, I think it is better to solve this problem urgently in best manners, so we can protect all investors, exchanges and partners.

hey guys
Do you think Super Nodes will come at the same time as the latest release or we will see it after?
Meanwhile bitmain and its ASICs will happily harvest Zencash unfairly.... This is corroiding zenchash nowadays unfortunatly.... yup, even after the Asics for SIA, XMR and ETH, the ZEN devs managed to not be ready. Hilarious ... I think you are exaggerating now. Please read this: https://blog.zencash.com/mandatory-upgrade-zen-2-0-14-super-nodes/

Can you tell us some more about the fork specifics, are you guys switching to zhash like most of other equihash coins or you are doing something else?Or you are keeping it a secret so asics manufactors dont have a head start on you?

hey guys
Do you think Super Nodes will come at the same time as the latest release or we will see it after?
i think they will release it at the same time since they already are planing an update. i think the update would have them both Hardfork will occur 3th , possibly 4th week of July. We will have big change to the consensus division of block rewards, new class of nodes will be introduced - Super nodes. Read more here: https://zencash.com/assets/files/Zen-Application-Platform-Whitepaper.pdf => To get smooth start with supernodes - which will go live in q4 of this year, => benefits for staking 500 zen necessary for a Super Node will star after the fork. So better prepare your coins..

Thank you again for your detailed answer. I'm looking forward to hear good news on bi-weekly update this Wednesday.
Tomorrow is biweekly update! We're making a special announcement this Wednesday June 13 at 1 PM EDT community call ▶️ https://www.youtube.com/c/ZenCash/live

Using the zencash nodes as a kind of notarization service that layers POS on top of the POW seems to be something good to make.
Also I like this idea, but it up to developers team, to bring final decisions..

Thoughts on the Rise of Equihash-capable ASICs and 51% Attacks against Equihash Blockchains
The double-spend part is extremely interesting here because in the case of the ZenCash attack, the attacker knew exactly where to hit by seemingly targeting an exchange which had set by default a low amount of confirmations before validating transfers. This enabled the attacker to double-spend funds in a comfortable enough lapse of time, while taking advantage either of their decisive edge (proprietary ASICs / rented hashpower / combination of both). At the time of writing, the cost to perform a 51% attack on ZenCash for example was estimated at cca 7800 USD/hour. Considering the theft averaged approx 500,000 USD (if not more) at the rate when the attack took place, we can see that this is still a lucrative activity very much worth the effort (from an attacker’s perspective, of course). https://www.kamshin.com/2018/06/thoughts-on-the-rise-of-equihash-capable-asics-and-51-attacks-against-equihash-blockchains/

ZenCash Partners With Infopulse to Build a Treasury Voting System
According to the announcement, ZenCash has a functional, proof of concept prototype of the treasury model that is currently undergoing stress testing with different loads of voters ranging from 1,000-100,000 prospective active voters.
Other R&D projects that Infopulse is helping ZenCash with include:
Scaling protocol simulations ZenHide domain fronting ZenPub distributed file storage

Robert is doing an awesome job recently to introduce Zencash on Youtube. He is doing a lot of interviews-introductions and as well conferences. And with over 50 team members working to promote zencash, the platform has a good presence online but also offline I think/hope hardfork will push up the price, at least, back to $40. It will happen for sure, no matter if fork or no fork Yeah just some nerves around the 51% attack probably, plus up to 2 hardforks over the next couple months. Change can make people a bit nervous. However, all the changes are positive in my opinion, so definitely think it will bounce back. Also aside from the hardforks, there is so much going on with zenpub, messenger and a whole bunch of other products. Really it is a great long term project. As you said those are positive vibes, and those changes will affect all not only the price. We are moving forwards, improving this project and there is no need to be nervous. Every project have its ups and downs.

I heard that hardfork for implementation of Supernode has been postponed til 3rd week of July. Is this official announcement?
hardfork might help changing the ability to deal with serious unexpected 51% Replay Attacks in the future. It is really a good choice of ZenCash team to fight against greedy bad guys, who tend to find a way to exploit crypto networks. Hardfork will occur 3th , possibly 4th week of July. 1) We will have big change to the consensus division of block rewards, new class of nodes will be introduced - Super nodes. Read more here: https://zencash.com/assets/files/Zen-Application-Platform-Whitepaper.pdfTo get smooth start with supernodes - which will go live in q4 of this year, benefits for staking 500 zen necessary for a Super Node will star after the fork. 2)It's still not clear what direction we will take we are studying all possibilities. Three solutions on the table currently are to : 1. Require block hash pointers to n > 1 blocks whenever there are parallel blocks reported on the network. 2. Introduce a penalty metric for delayed block reporting (with a complementary option to dynamically adjust difficulty based on the penalty metric), 3. To use our node system as a sort of notarization service that effectively layers proof-of-stake on top of the current proof-of-work.
