61  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Service Discussion (Altcoins) / Re: How much did you earn in bounty for 2018? on: October 26, 2018, 08:50:08 PM
2017 was the year for bounties I guess, haven't really anything yet as I'm relatively new. Have a few tokens acquired from a few bounties, but they've not amount to anything significant because of the current market condition. I believe once the market bounces back, they'll be worth something
62  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: HOW PROJECTS CAN MAINTAIN THE VALUE OF THEIR TOKENS AFTER EXCHANGE LISTING on: October 26, 2018, 12:06:40 PM
Good day guys, we all have noticed that so many projects tend to loose high value of their token after they have listed in exchanges. One of the cause is the way bounty hunters will want to dump their tokens and move over to the other available project.
There is a remedy to this and here is my suggestion.

- I Advice projects to pay bounty hunters with Ethereum or Bitcoin and by so doing, they retain the value of their token after they must have listed in an exchange or exchanges.

if any bounty hunter is interested in the project, they can use the ETH or BTC reward they got from the project and purchase the tokens.

Guys what is your opinion on this?

Thank you

Bounty hunters aren't the sole cause of the dump tokens experience upon. Remember these ICOs also give huge bonuses to private investors and VCs, some of these tokens have no lock-in periods by these ICOs and as such they dump these tokens at the exchange too.

So projects, can maintain the value of their tokens after exchange listing by doing the following;

1. Have lock-in periods for bonuses ab initio. Should be 6 months to 1 year post listing.
2. Projects should continue with marketing of the project and ensuring it remains in public view. What we've noticed is that a lot of projects simply ignore the marketing angle after their ICO and expect the community to do it for them, which in my opinion is wrong.

63  Economy / Economics / Re: Tell us about your experience on: October 26, 2018, 11:34:40 AM
For a newbie, you should engage in bounty campaigns before investing in any altcoin. You need to learn more. You should read about blockchain technology around this time, look for articles that relate to future market predictions and read them. It will be really helpful to you.

This is a classic example of hopping on a topic with a reply without reading a single line! It's even surprising the mods haven't deleted the comment as it's no where near the subject..

With regards to the topic, crypto has been profitable to me since I got knowledge of it with most of the gains made from position trading, which I learned from my mentor. I've made a couple from bounties as well. Overall, crypto has exposed me to whole new realm, the tech, the intrigues, the anonymity, all of it have culminated into a good experience thus far
64  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Why many projects are dead on: October 26, 2018, 11:14:01 AM
That should be expected as it is a natural principle. Most projects are dead because of poor management by the team members because they lack the expertise in crypto and failed to seek for counsel from experts. Also, projects with no backing product or tangible ideology behind is likely to go down the drain as it will lose the interest of potential investors.

A lot of these projects had no business in the crypto space in the first place. The scam devs had no plans to further their course. They simply took advantage of the liquidity in the market and the hyoe the crypto space was enjoying at the time to make money out of the system. Truth is, a good project will remain nonetheless, weather it's a bears season or worse. I've lost little money to such scam projects
65  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: ICO coming soon. Would you like to be the very first to know about it? on: October 24, 2018, 08:17:30 PM
At this stage of the market conditions, for your ICO to get a shot at gaining any attention, the idea must be genius and with real use case.
66  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: The State of Crypto World on: October 24, 2018, 02:31:35 PM
The crypto space is rather unhealthy at the moment. ICOs are getting extended because they're not able to get the desired level of investments from the public. No buzz/hype around a project days to their ICO. Bounty programs also getting extended or terminated midway after weeks of work. As a bounty hunter, I begin to get worried about the project and once these signs begin to manifest.

In the last 5 months, I'm yet to earn a penny from bounties. This is either because the team is delaying payments for fear of bounty hunters dumping them at the exchange and crashing the token price, or bounty got terminated, or an exit scam. This is the current state of the crypto space and it indeed take the brave and patient to remain.
It's your fault to consider bounty as the main job, my answer is find your real job and then you will be fine. So many people have been creating an emotional thread like this one but this is totally useless because you will change nothing with this. Do a lot of research and find your another job dude.

Funny how you jumped into conclusion that I do not have another job and focus solely on bounties for survival. You need to really slow down man. I had a life before venturing into crypto and certainly have a life outside of it.

68  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: SEC tightens the noose on ICO-funded startups on: October 23, 2018, 01:20:12 PM
The media claims this regulation will increase growth. We could see the opposite with ICOs now being restricted from selling tokens to lower income demographics. Essentially what the SEC has done here is limit ICOs from being sold to the poor, which is one of the main initiatives that fueled its growth in the 1st place.

I think this a good thing. The majority of people who spend money on ICOs1 are from poorer demographics and/or the developing world. These people are easier to take advantage of, which is exactly what 99% of ICOs are aiming to do. I have little time or sympathy for these people who willingly throw their money away on such obvious scams, but at the same time, all they are doing is making scammers richer and making themselves poorer. ICOs make the whole of crypto look like a scam to the outside world - the sooner we can clamp down on all these scam ICOs, the better.

1 - I refuse to use the term investor - to invest in something there actually has to be something to invest in, not just a sham website like most ICOs.

I like the role the SEC is playing to put these guys under checks. It will force mostly serious projects to reach out to the SEC before their ICO, thus presenting a real team, and opening their books to the SEC. This will limit the number of exit scams we have out there in the space. The fear of the SEC coming after them should they flout the rules of the regulations governing them will put them under checks.

The only downside to this is that low income earners like me will be edged out from investing in ICOs as it'll be a tad difficult to make it into the list as an accredited investor.
69  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Safety of your private key on: October 23, 2018, 11:38:04 AM
Perfect.

You don't have to give your private key even to your mentor. If your wallet has funds then don't just simply give it to anyone and trust them with your money that's not how you keep your private keys safe. You have trust to him because he taught you? no that's not enough, your money is your money and you have to keep it.

Most of people say beware of phishing but phishing is a large area to be discussed and it includes lots of other security things that a person should now.
First of all we should have a clean PC with no keylogger or any other software that can steal the clipboard (the place where copy-paste is stored)
Secondly use wallets as much as offline and use trusted websites if you choose online wallets or so.

This is very vital, using PC's with no keylogger or software that enables stealing the clipboard where copy-paste function is stored on the PC is one vital safety precaution that a lot of people tend to ignore. Is there a way to find out and even purge the PC of this malware please?
70  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: What is your future plans with altcoins? on: October 23, 2018, 11:21:13 AM
For me, it's a combination of different strategies...

1. Accumulate a lot of alts I really like and have been following. Over the period I've bought some NEO, ZRX, and STORIQA.
2. I've been trying my hands on trading using just a certain percentage of my active portfolio. Gotten pockets of profits and just a few losses. But I'm staying at it.
3. I'm also hodling some coins from airdrops and bounty payments. Some of them have really dropped in price, and I'm not sure of their recovery time and how soon it would be.
71  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Service Discussion (Altcoins) / Re: Help on bounty on: October 22, 2018, 08:27:34 PM
Hi guys
I wonder why i usually don't recive my coin from the bounty and i always do it in right way
Usually i don't get any thing and i don't have a big balance
And i need to help if you can

You're most certainly doing something wrong. A lot of people don't read the rules and they hop on bounties and start working. Sometimes instructions on a particular bounty demands you don't mention ICO, some require you include hashtags that are crypto related. These are clear instructions and a lot of people flout them. For such people, chances are they won't receive the desired stakes and they would have worked for nothing.

Secondly, also check that someone isn't impersonating you on the bounties you participate in. We constantly find situations where bounty hunters complain in telegram groups that they're being impersonated by some scammers who are trying to get stakes for the work they did. This happens in mostly in bounties where KYC isn't required to claim tokens earned.
72  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Do we really need a bullrun? on: October 22, 2018, 12:45:24 PM
I agree with you that a bullrun isn't a good thing when it turns into a bubble and subsequent crash. We need sustained steady growth and adoption, not a mindless pump and dump fueled by FOMO.

This makes a lot of sense. Even though a bull run has it's pros and cons, steady growth is what we need actually, growth occasioned by adoptions, positive news, etc. Investors who are watching from the outside will actually be weary of a price surge that looks more or less like a pump. This is because pumps are usually accompanied by a dump and a lot of these guys are more concerned about stability of the price of BTC.
73  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Blockchain online training ✅ on: October 22, 2018, 11:34:09 AM
You have two negative trusts, and going by the optics around here, it would be difficult for you get people who are willing to do business with you. Secondly, coming from a newbie account, I wondering what wealth of know you must have gathered, enough to impact such knowledge on others. You should submit yourself to learning first, then you can aim to train others.
74  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: What Does It Mean To "Spam" In Bounty Campaigns? on: October 21, 2018, 09:13:12 PM
Someone actually quoted the entire lengthy post just to post a incoherent one-liner. I feel like calling the cops on him Grin.

To the issue at hand, I feel the bounty manager did not clearly spell out what they meant by spam. He may have posted unique posts albeit less than 5 minutes interval, which some people with busy schedules in the real world do, so long as they're not of low quality. I think he deserves to be paid by the bounty manager as no part in the rules stated the timing apart for each post
75  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Service Discussion (Altcoins) / Re: Is KYC For Bounty Hunters Good? Lets Share Our Views! on: October 21, 2018, 08:44:26 PM
The recurrent fear of one's documents ending up in the wrong hands is the fear of many and the reason a lot bounty hunters stay away from bounties that require KYC to claim tokens. For some, it's better to lose once stakes and tokens to cheats, than losing one's identity to fraudsters who will use it for nefarious activities and the damages caused can take a lot of time to repair.
76  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Ripple shows growns lately with 12% today on: October 20, 2018, 03:36:37 PM
in my opinion, now it's a good price to buy xrp, because I also hope xrp prices will rise until the end of this year Wink Grin

Don't bank on it my friend my friend. As it's been said already, Ripple is good for swing trades as a trader an this is what I've been seeing on different channels I belong to. For the price rising till the end of the year, that's merely speculative.
77  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Postponing ICO, a sign of negative market? on: October 20, 2018, 10:48:24 AM
Just recently PROFEDE has decided to postpone it's ICO.
https://profede.com/#problem
What are it's implecations? Do you have a similar experience with this one?

There's absolutely nothing happening in the crypto world that should come off to anyone as a surprise anymore, more like we've seen it all. Projects postponing their ICOs, extending their bounties, ICOs failing and investors getting refunds, etc. All these are a reflection of the condition of the market at the moment, a lot of people are laid back when it comes to investing in projects now. So, this informs why some projects postpone their ICO, as they're afraid they may not hit soft cap
78  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: what to trust now? on: October 19, 2018, 09:46:34 PM
I tend to trust my judgement most while using the only site I trust, icodrops, as a guide. I also read through the whitepaper, and this could me as along as 2 weeks, before making a decision. While at it, I ensure the project ticks all the right boxes in terms of criteria for choosing a project.
79  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Effects of Market Conditions on: October 19, 2018, 09:40:22 PM
The current market uncertainty really worries me, BTC is very deep correction, it's like a spinning wheel and now all crypto or stocks are experiencing market sluggishness. Expert speculation was tested but the market is only predictable and not entirely true, and I still feel pessimistic for the end of this year, but hopefully it will improve again.

Once read someone bought his first Bitcoin at $30 and it crashed right to $2 shortly after. But he still did hodl and he became better for it. Checking the history of Bitcoin shows that the current market conditions isn't new at all. There's no certainty in almost any market, because that will make it a perfect market which in the real world is not existent.
80  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Ico and sec regulations on: October 18, 2018, 02:13:11 PM
So how the ico sales and buying will look like after sec will regulate the ico.

What will be changed for investor if the new system will be  for the ico-s ?

I'll be derailing this thread a bit, and I apologize in advance. You're a Newbie or let's say demoted Jr. Member, but you have 4 negative trusts already. This is actually very worrisome and you should find ways to fix your reputation on here.

About the subject in discuss,  I believe regulations will actually sanitize the crypto space and shape the quality of ICOs that launch on the space. Scam projects will be scared as they need to get certain permits to run an ICO. Ultimately, it will be the gain of investors like you and I as it would limit the losses incurred from investing in shady projects. It will also build confidence in the space and more institutional investors will pick interest.
