1  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [DGC] Digitalcoin 3.0 | Multi-algorithm, Improved Blockchain Storage | RELEASED! on: January 21, 2016, 12:33:12 AM
Morning folks.

I've decided to bring DGC to favorite crypto related website. The coin is now live on CRYPTOPIA.

Since DGC was my first Coin ever ( i've mined some blocks solo years ago ), it's my contribution now to do something good to the community.

DGC can be traded on 7 base markets.

DGC/DOTDGC/BTCDGC/LTCDGC/DOGEDGC/FTC, DGC/POPDGC/UNO

Besides of many features, like Block Explorer, MineShaft and Forum is a MarketPlace avaiable. There all Coins can be used to buy or sell items.

CRYPTOPIA is beeing active develpoed since the first day and has a nice and continuous growing community.

Btw, listing cryptsy coins is really cheap at the moment, and possible without the regular voting hassle, due to their special offer to list those coins for just 10% of the regular listing price Wink

Check it out.

Regards.

2  Economy / Scam Accusations / Re: CRYPTSY stopping withdraw locking accounts without notifying users! Class Action on: January 17, 2016, 08:47:51 PM
Okay, it seems cryptsy has lost the majority of user funds on end of July 2014.

( In my opinion, it could be a simple mistake by managing the btc cold wallet. ... splitting the amounts to different addresses and losing the private keys... After recognizing this mistake they started to move and sell altcoins to recover the btc wallet. Who knows what really happened... but it would explain why they haven't called the police and also why the "stolen" BTC are untouched.)

Now next thing would be, they need some kind of strategy, that makes that user don't try to withdraw the majority of funds, to keep up the normal operation of the site.

I assume that's why cryptsy implemented a "Look-Box feature" and released it three months later, in the beginning of November 2014.

Let's see what they wrote about the "Cryptsy Lockbox":

Quote

Cryptsy Lockbox & Improved Currency Converter Tool

Greetings Cryptsy Users,

Two new features have been released today that I wanted to tell you about.

Cryptsy Lockbox:

Cryptsy has always tried to be the leader in developing a safe and secure environment for trading.   Today we have released Cryptsy Lockbox.   Cryptsy lockbox allows you to store funds you hold on your account more securely.   When you move funds to a lockbox, those coins will not be availalbe for trade or withdrawal.   The lockbox is a time-lock system, you can set the time lock for 1 hour, 6 hours, 12 hours, or 24 hours.   When a lockbox release request is made and approved from one of the email accounts set for the lockbox, the system will notify you every hour of a pending release via email and optional SMS alerts.   If somehow you find you didn’t make the request, you can cancel it by clicking a link in the email.  Once the allotted time has passed since the request was approved, you lockbox funds will be restored to your Cryptsy balance and will be available for trade or withdrawal.

You can access the lockbox from your Cryptsy balances page.

Who should use lockbox:

- Users to are not going to be trading for awhile due to vacation or another reason should store their funds in the lockbox.   If you don’t plan on trading or withdrawing those coins for awhile, then store them.

- Users who store large amounts of coin on their local computer.   The majority of hacks that we have seen in the past have occurred on the end users computer.   If your computer is compromised, stolen, or damaged your local wallets are at risk.   Cryptsy takes great measures to ensure our wallets and keys are stored safe and securely and make backups of our wallets to very secure locations often.

- Services who hold funds in their own wallets.   If you run a service that stores funds in your own wallets, and do not want to worry about the security of your wallets, then you can store them into a Cryptsy Lockbox for safekeeping.

New Improved Currency Converter:

The new currency converter is back and better than ever.   You can find the currency converter under the tools menu at Cryptsy.  Using the converter you can convert any currency into any other currency, including USD if you are verified.   You can specify either the sending amount and we will convert to show you the receiving amount, or you can specify the receiving amount and we will show you how much to send.

Soon we will be enhancing the converter tool even more by allowing you to send funds to an address to complete the conversion process, as well as providing these tools via the API.   We feel this tool will be essential in the creation of merchant payment tools that use any currency traded at Cryptsy.

Happy Trading!

So! Everone should use the look-box, it's much safer that the own wallet!

In other words: "do not withdraw your coins".

3  Economy / Scam Accusations / Re: CRYPTSY stopping withdraw locking accounts without notifying users! Class Action on: January 02, 2016, 10:21:24 PM
Just a example of what i've found in the cryptsy chat today.
BtW, on a earlier version for cryptsy the chat was visible for everyone who is not registered or logged in on the site.
To read the chat today, people must open a account. New users who check out the site are not aware about the current problems!
Do they hide their problems this way, especially for new users? Because the exchange rates (which are manipulated in my opinion, due to the current withdrawal problems) promise a lot of profitable arbitrage opportunities and seems very interesting for Trader.

A conclusion of my thoughts:
It seems that guy in blue with the crown (Admin) can't provide exact information about the problems (since months).
But he tells the users that they can try to upgrade to Tier 2, to withdraw coins.
In other words, he ask in the name of the company to provide personal data! But does he provide a proof that this works better?

Tier 2 needs:
- Upload Government Issued Photo ID
- Upload Government Issued ID + Face & Paper
- Upload Copy of A Utility Bill
The main idea behind tier 2 is to make fiat transactions available!
Tier 1 does not allow fiat transactions and is for bigger limits of montly cropto transactions, than tier 0. Tier 0 need no data, Tier1 real name and address.

So why is he asking for additional data if someone don't want trade fiat? In other words it means tell us more about you, but we can't promise that you get your coins faster. Lol, maybe next week he recommends, call your fist child cryptsy and upload the birth certificate, that could help to get your withdrawal processed.

BtW, how did that guy got a crown? Seems he does not know what a wallet address is... Wallet addresses are visable to the public, like license plate on a car. Everyone can see it and recognize the car, even without having the keys to access to it. (Or does he mean the keys to the secret that shows what's really going on?? )

Fianlly it seems to me that cryptsy acts not fair and honest. They play with the fear of users.

and according to the thoughts of my last post...
https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=1173703.msg13420253#msg13420253
Isn't it obvious?
They changed the fee structure and created problems that many people want withdraw funds.
Somehow i think this mass panic, that cryptsy could end like MtGox, creates a lot of profits on fees. Much bigger at the moment, compared with a normal operation, where users withdraw only sometimes. At the moment many people try to move their coins, in fear of a total loss.
Further, greedy people try to arbitrage, due to the pumped altcoin prices. They search for routes to let coins circulate. And cryptsy takes now 0.5% fee on those trades! (The double of what they took before they made the changes)

If i am right with all my guessing about this all. Then cryptsy did a clever move maybe. This situation seems calculated but it is not fair, not honest and not very much appreciated.
And i understand why they don't announce the problems to the public. Also i understand in the same way what causes this lack of information in general.

Think i should stop now. It's a sad story that makes me angry.
Maybe i finish with a hand full of question, because i see that cryptsy staff writes here sometimes. Maybe someone likes to respond.

Do you guy recover additional withdrawal/network fees in the case that a user was told to process very tiny transactions?
Just imagine that i buy a bunch of DOGE for like 50 BTC on other exchanges to dump them at cryptsy... let's say i get a profit of 10 % due to this trade. Then i create 550 transactions of 0.1 BTC to send my BTC back to my wallet, because a guy in the chat said it could work.
The sum of the network withdraw fee will be 0.55 BTC, but it should be 0.001 BTC according the fee structure on a single Tx.
A additional fee of 0.5% is deducted from the whole amount, because cryptsy charges a trading fees on withdrawals. It's okay in my opinion. But it should be a bit less or 0.0% instead as long as the service does not work perfect and withdrawals are processed delayed. Correct?
Or is it okay to charge money for a not working service?

Why not halting markets and put coins into maintenance when you guys expect problems with withdrawals? Especially when the issues are on your end and not made by the coin/network?
It seems more efficient to me, instead of answering hundreds or thousands of support tickets and trolling the users in the chat box.

Yes Spoetnik, i remember that time...
And it was one of the highest withdrawal fees for BTC that i have ever seen on a exchange!
Also i remember earlier there was a bit different site layout with a logo, if i am right it was something with a heart and the words: "We love Bitcoin".
... LoL

@CoinFriend
I have pointed out a bunch of times in the past couple years that Cryptsy bundles those small transfers.
Get it ?
1 transfer fee for them..

hmmm interesting. i have not researched it. But if it's so, then your point would confirm my guesses additionally.
6  Economy / Scam Accusations / Re: CRYPTSY stopping withdraw locking accounts without notifying users! Class Action on: January 01, 2016, 08:45:58 PM
I watch the communication on the cryptsy chat sometimes...
Also read this thread sometimes too. Btw, great comments and pictures that are posted here by Gleb Smiley

It's interesting what all the people write here and there.

I see that admins on Cryptsy write that smaller amounts work better for withdrawals than bigger amounts. And some users confirm this.
Admins ask the users about a cancellation of pending withdrawals to help them somehow. This way users can withdrawal again, by using smaller amounts.
People say less than 0.1 BTC should work better.

Now my a calculation:
A single BTC withdrawal at cryptsy costs: "Withdraw Fee (0.00100000 + 0.50% BTC)"

Lets assume someone want withdraw 1.5 BTC:
It costs 0.001 BTC + 0.0075 BTC
And makes 1.4915 BTC at the end.

If someone withdraw 15 times 0.1 BTC, because it could work better.
It costs 15 * 0.001 BTC + 0.0075 BTC
And is 1.4775 BTC at the end.

Means sending 1.5 BTC in small amounts costs 0.013 BTC more than a single transaction.

As far as i know. The standard wd fee on the BTC network is 0.0001 BTC! But it could be a bit higher if the input is made from dust...
Here are the transactions fees visible that cryptsy pays to the network...
 https://www.walletexplorer.com/wallet/Cryptsy.com

( Lets assume 100 users send each 1.5 BTC in fractions. This could generate ~ 1 BTC extra profit for cryptsy, in my opinion )

The next thing is.
Cryptsy changed the fee structure a while ago and takes fees only on withdrawals now.

Due to the delayed BTC, LTC and other withdrawals at the last weeks/months, people use altcoins to get the funds away from there... This activity pumps the altcoin prices on Cryptsy above trading prices of all other sites.

The fee for altcoin withdrawals is like the example above. (Network fee + 0.5%)
Cryptsy can sell the collected altcoin fees into the pumped markets on their own exchange and gets some additional profits in BTC.

Since a while I ask myself. Does all this happen due to the next block reward halving and the speculation that the BTC / $ exchange rate could raise? Is it staging? And why is the communication so bad, between cryptsy staff and BigVern. Why are users not informed about the problems by a public message on the site?

Finally i don't believe in their tech issues. In my opinion they profit much more from their withdrawal issues at the moment than without them. And i assume that all problems will be solved in the future, when they "collected" enough BTC.

... just my thoughts.

TrollCoin users are still waiting to withdraw their old Trolls for the coin swap, what's going on Saddam? Old Troll chain is moving, we are keeping nodes online, making sure the chain moves, and have supplied you with node ips, what's going on?

your luck that i read prefered old and archived threads... lol, but not everyone does it.

i would advise, open a support ticket on the site and report them your active nodes.

cryptopias staff is always happy to assist Smiley

If you have questions, I am more than happy to answer what I can, just remember I am not an executive at the site so I won't know answers pertaining to stuff like that. I go on sites like blab to try to keep customers informed of what is going on - same reason I am putting out a weekly newsletter starting this week for customers. I feel communication has lacked in the past and want to step that game up.

So you're going to do "law enforcement" and PR now?

Can you please start by showing a message ON THE CRYPTSY SITE ITSELF, something to the effect "our wallets are fucked, please don't deposit until we unfuck them and by the way your withdrawal request is #10267 in the queue being manually processed at a rate of 87 requests per day."

Yes, an update page is something we are actually currently working on, with daily updates informing customers of any issues etc. I am brand new to this PR position although I have always been active in community. I will be making some changes I hope all of you approve of and enjoy. Thank you.

yo Horus, blah blah blah...

I am waiting more than a day for a RDD withdrawal now!
And there is no update page! Nor a single info about the withdrawal issues, since days!

Yesterday, after my requested transaction went stuck, i looked in the chat and asked the men in blue where were i can get information about the issues.

JShock said, he has announced it, again (in the chat).

He said BTC, LTC and BTCD are affected.

I asked, why are the issues not on the tweets at the first page. It's well known, since days already!

They all could have a easier life, instead of repeating the same excuses all the time in the chat box.

And i've asked them, or does such a statement could affect this ostensible "technical issues" by a negative way maybe?

The tweets and the smiley by BigVern seems not very honest. I could assume there are no problems at the moment...

Then Nordmann told me: Please stop FUD!

And one moment later i was banned from the chat...

So finally i was not able to tell someone that RDD withdrawals not work, like the other coins !

Further i am not sure which one of the chat rules i've hurt!
http://wiki.cryptsy.com/chatrules

I think a ticket i will not release about my issue! Why should i ?

They are aware of the problems in general! And they don't allow honest qestions in the chat box too!

Damn, Cryptsy must have hundreds of tickets with withdrawal issues already...

Further, i don't like that users, who post the ticket number in the chat box, are helped first or preferred. It really looks like that!

Cryptsy! Please check the RDD transactions and your wallet, and process all stuck withdrawals!

Gimme my coins, i want play Dotto at CRYPTOPIA.

Thanks.

I'm Roger Ver, long-time Bitcoin advocate and investor. Today, I'm at the Cryptsy world headquarters in Delray Beach, FL. I had a nice chat with Cryptsy CEO, Paul Vernon, about their current situation. He showed me multiple bank statements, as well as letters from banks and lawyers. I'm sure that all the current withdrawal delays problems at Cryptsy are being caused by the traditional banking system, not because of a lack of liquidity at Cryptsy. The traditional banking partners that Cryptsy needs to work with are not able to keep up with the demands of the growing Bitcoin economy. The dozens of people that make up the Cryptsy team are hard at work establishing additional banking partners, that eventually will make dealing with Cryptsy easier for all their customers around the world. For now, I hope that everyone will continue working on Bitcoin projects that will help make the world a better place.

11  Economy / Scam Accusations / Re: Warning Cryptopia !!! No payout on: November 17, 2015, 03:07:28 AM
what is this thread about?

if i remember right, there was a coin that nobody is able to receive!

Btw, CRYPTOPIA has put the wallet in maintenance since the day they are aware about the issue with the chain.
Whats the problem now? Nobody can withdraw a coin when a wallet is maintenance mode!
Should CRYPTOPIA put all coins in maintenance, because there could be a issue some day in the future?

Now someone says it is easy to fix a coin!

And the fact you don't know how easy it is to fix coins you shouldn't even be allowed to speak. You know this.

But does it happen? Is it so easy? Really?
Why does nobody fix it then since weeks and helps this guy to receive his money?
I can't do it. I have do not have the knowledge. Further is it not my responsibility, or of someone from CRYPTOPIA.

The people like "jagrapolite5" who now complain against the site with a lot of dumb words. (Because of a ban in the chat box there!)

They fight now for their own ego firstly. For the own satisfaction only!

They misuse this thread for trolling. They do not help someone!

But they think they are the best and popular human in the world of crypto and know everything.

It is so ridiculous how they talk bad about other people. It's not nice btw and does not show of a good character!

It's sad!

I would say, some things go to far already! They should think about he things they saying.
And Admins should ban them from their forum and sites!

This will be my last statement on this.

oh wow... how is craptopia still not shut down ?!?!  shittopia and c-scam worst scam sites around period in all of cryptoland... this is speaking from experience, as far as legalities... rofl fucktopia is so done they dont even know it... so to whoever trades there be careful guy!

lol, what nice words ey.

every time when i look at the online users on CRAPTOPIA i see Jagrapolite5 there.
( everyone can check this by pointing the mouse over "online users" in the chatbox )

She is or was online on CRYPTOPIA even today! Now she is wondering that the site still exists!
LOL, really?

I could upload a screenshot with server time, to prove it. But why should i do those efforts?

The discussion is already dumb enough. It should stop on some point.
Are we kids or adults already?

Those posts are stupid trolling only. This way of communication will arrive noting at the end. It does not help someone or change something!

But it shows somehow how a lot of people act in the world of cryptocurrency.
... Not much better than the people in the world of the fiat money!
13  Economy / Scam Accusations / Re: Warning Cryptopia !!! No payout on: November 15, 2015, 05:04:29 PM

All I want is them to delist "dead" coins. Will be quiet, when it's done!

.....

Hi folks,
just want clarify something.

Now, there is a big difference! You never mentioned that you call CRYPTOPIA a scam site, because CRYPTOPIA don't delist this or other coins.
Nor i have not seen this point in all your conversations earlier. Further the topic of this thread not sounds like this.

I just saw that you must be aware about the blockchain issues very early!

But instead of telling this in the support tickets and let CRYPTOPIA know about the problems with the coin. You asked if there is any progress on this issue and you complained that the mining and withdrawals of PR not work. (BtW, i can read all the tickets, since i am a member of the CRYPOTPIA team)

Further, you deleted all this posts on the PR thread on bitcointalk. ( But they are interesting to read )

So this is, how it ends!

Prototanium clinically dead! No transaction possible, no mining, no exchange!  Huh Sad Sad

Goodbye Prototanium, goodbye Unobtanium.

Nice to meet you!

Also I have over 63.000 Prototanium, now useless, who has this amount?

I did that only, cause I hoped, I could add some more value to Unobtanium some day! (Now I know it would have been better to develop my own coin!)

source: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=1140354.msg12736917#msg12736917

Your acting seems not very fair now. And it is not honest against the whole crypto community.

Seems more like greed before responsibility!

(Thanks to the user who quoted all his posts, btw)

And about the comments from turtlehurricane i can only say. It's funny to read his imagination and view about the things.
LOL,
He could try himself as a story teller and write short storys about crypto and his experience.
This would be a more honest work in comparison with the trust ratings for example, which i read on his account here.

Finally, as a happy investor in CRYPTOPIA i can say at this point, many thanks to you both for all your advertising efforts Smiley

14  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: Announcing Songcoin - Invest in Music on: July 28, 2015, 06:22:58 PM

I just donated 25k SONG to the faucet on Cryptopia.

Is there a way to make the payout higher - say 5 or 10 SONG?  .00125 SONG is not worth even pressing the button.  LOL

The faucet feature was released on sunday and it's a lot of work to find a optimal value for 150 coins...

But sure, the payout is changeable. Simply release a support ticket and tell them your wish and that you have donated.
(support button is in the drop down menue which is located at the right side of your username. the arrow!)

Also, check out the chat/trollbox! The admins added there a "Tip feature". By this a user can send coins as a Tip to one or multiple users which are active in the chatbox. Maybe this is also a option to present SONG somehow...
15  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: Announcing Songcoin - Invest in Music on: July 28, 2015, 04:12:46 PM

Hey, just want say,

nice to read that it's going forward with this coin!

On the occasion of my delight i've donated 1111 SONG to CRYPTOPIA's faucet.

Faucets are a new feature on the website.

And it shows that it's going forward with CRYPTOIA too!

Also i heard, much more features and upgrades will follow in near future.

In my opinion the site provides much more opportunities than a simple coin exchange, because it is not an exchange only.

For example, there is a marketplace!

Maybe some Musician or Artist want sell old/used instuments, technic or CD's for crypto, especially for SONG...

Further, this could be an alternative for the founder of SONG, to get the premine back, which he sells at the moment to support the existence of SONG. [1]

CRYPTOPIA provides different ways to get, use and support cryptocurrency, than only by trading one coin against a different.

There is a piece for everyone on that place. So let people know about it, use it and be creative!

Cheers,
CoinFriend / CoinUser @ CRYPTOPIA

So why is the pre-mine shrinking by 100k SONG every few days?

Thanks HD given all the associated controversy I'm selling it to help pay for the mining.

Then I'm hoping to buy back in as well as accumulate coins back with the mining.  So far I've mined about 10,000 on the way to the re-target point.

Figure this is the best thing to do.

@ BitJohn

Why do you need so long to update a wallet?
For example AsiaCoin... The wallet on bter seems okay.
We maintain hundreds of wallets and have many coins. Coin developers make assumptions like they can push a hard fork with an hours notice. Or they make a change that affects how a coin works in general. These things take time. When a coin averages 0.01 BTC volume, and it needs a time intensive wallet upgrade its going to take longer than a high volume coin since the majority of customers will be affected by the high volume coin outage. Best explanation I have.

Recommendation being make sure developers keep Mullick informed well ahead of time on changes you make.

Quote from the AsiaCoin Thread !

Is there a information somewhere when cryptsy plans to finish the wallet maintenance?
anybody knows when ''update'' at cryptsy started (with freezing asiacoin inputs/outputs)

after receiving reply from mullick on April 11 that ''update should be not longer than minutes'' - this ''update'' very strange

How do you think what price of bitcoin will be in nearest future?  Wink

The nearest future I will assume weeks to month and I am bullish so will speculate it will be around 280-300. Of course anything can happen and would not be surprised for it to be 220-230 within a week of it touching 280-300. Some pennies to be made if you are watching and ready.

LOL, what are you speculate? 280-300 what? 220-230 what? There are so many currencys litecoin, dogecoin ... some people use also fiat currency like dollar, euro, ruble, yen or whatever.

Somehow i think the price of bitcoin will rise in future, in near future not so much like in far future. A peak could be possible at the time of the next block reward halving Wink
But it will reach not such a high price like the last time as this event happens.

Shame you are a bit of a donut, read properly and maybe you can understand that was kinder simple maan. We will go to 280-300 then 220-230 after a week I hope you understand and use your brain to what the currency is dear oh dear. It is yen of course! No no wait... doge is what it was I remember now, btc will be 300 doge within the month and I am feeling bullish get it? zzzZZZZ

Hey, really not sure. Do you mean % of the actual value?

i have not calculated it till now but i am pritty sure that upto 18th august it will reach 430$ as my pridection is strong and i am not saying it peoples say that...well if it is then i am sure it will reach 420$ and i am gonna sell all my coins on that day for sure

That's a good prediction, i believe this could be possible Wink

wow, this thread is literally exploded since i last wrote and watched here. If i have enough time i will read this all.
But first, some answers for "hilariousandco":

What evidence do you have that links him to Quickseller exactly (assuming that's who you're referring to)? Quickseller was knowledgeable of the rules here and that guy clearly isn't because a) he doesn't seem to be aware that you only need to make 1 post per fortnight and not spam quickly to make 14, and 2) Quickseller always made decent posts and didn't 'farm' them this way.

It's not my work to search and show evidences!
That someone knows the rules means not that he also break rules!
about a) The accounts i talk about do 14 post on the same day. between the posting days are minimum 14 days to meet the roules about the "activity" raise. He know the rules!
I believe, it doesn't work for me, that i have to made only one post per 14 days to get 14 activity points!
about 2) The account "Quickseller" made only decent posts, that right. But that doesn't mean the person behind Quickseller post in the same way from other accounts. A person with more than one account plays mostly theater with other users.
Thinking that those people doesn't change the writing is hilarious!
I saw people before who write big letters only or only few word if the use different accounts, to hide the identity.

You can own/create/farm/buy/sell/lend as many accounts as you wish, just as long as you make decent posts/contributions from them.

Sorry, i searched the rules and remembered wrong. Your right.
