Hi man this is AMD Navi timings soft in telegramm chanel - https://t.me/newsminers RX5700 - 60mh a ETH

Isn't this unstable with lots of rejects?
182  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: [POLL] What are miners plans-April ETH 4GB DAG ASIC drop dead & July ProgPow on: February 29, 2020, 10:38:39 PM
I'm I correct in thinking with PROGPOW 4GB cards will not work for eth?
183  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Best mid-range GPU for mining? on: February 27, 2020, 04:01:54 PM
I think that the 5500 XT or 5600 XT is the gold standard based on mining power and price. However I would suggest used Rx Vegas as another best alternative.Make sure to buy cards with Gddr6 memory and at least 6Gb in size although 8Gb is the safe option.Try to find deals in the forum here,in Ebay,Amazon or Craiglist.

Is their a progpow miner for the rx 5000 series?  I have a lot of RX 5700s and love them but if they are going top continue to be profitable we need a progpow miner.
184  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Number 9! Ninth altcoin thread. Back to the moon Baby! on: February 27, 2020, 03:14:05 AM
Well looks like im ready to dump my rx 5700 rig if eth switches algos. atm rx 5700 is really good at ethash and not much else.

Rx 5700 are great at c31 and I bet they will develop a good progpal miner for them.  100 watts and 1.15 gps on c31 is great very efficient.
185  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Buy GPU now or wait till new ones are out?? on: February 26, 2020, 11:43:39 PM
Mining coins and buying coins have two different types of risk.

With gpu's if the market goes to hell you can sell them at a small loss if you buy smart.  If you have decent electrical cost mining produces income everyday.

Buying coins theirs zero overhead and if you time it right your upside is huge.  But you have to wait out long periods of no income.  Also the potential loss is large unless you think you can trade, lol.

Eth is changing to PROG, any plans on adding prog?
187  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Number 9! Ninth altcoin thread. Back to the moon Baby! on: February 22, 2020, 10:53:03 PM
Cool, anyone knowif prog will run on RX 5700s?
188  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Radeon vii / RTX 2080 Super.? on: February 14, 2020, 01:50:07 AM
I agree the AMD RX 400 and 500 are a pain in the ass, but my 40 AMD cards are still hashing eth 3 years and still going.  You should look at the RX 5700's Ive bought 15 open box so far for around 280 - 330.  They can make a over a dollar a day on eth, Grin 31 and 60 cents on zcoin.  That's better then a 2060 and $100 cheaper.

Anything special about the 2060 KO other then price?
189  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Number 9! Ninth altcoin thread. Back to the moon Baby! on: February 13, 2020, 07:29:02 PM
Yes I also like where the market is headed and I am glad I didn't sell all my GPUs yet. Seems like the profits right now with 10c power are "ok", not the greatest but if you got tons of GPUs then it might be worth while.

I was actually rebuilding my rigs back in June 2019 when the alt markets were rallying again and basically less than 1 month later the profits were shot down and been pretty bad since then. Would be nice if we could stay at least >$350 for the next few months or so. Because the difficulty obviously will keep rising and people will keep scouping up cheap RX gpus on Craigslist to mine and the difficulty will keep rising every day until the profits vanish.

If we get >$1000 ETH or ProgPOW then obviously the profits will be great once again however I am not sure we can reach that number. Hopefully we break the 2019 high for ETH this time around and head into the +$500 area for ETH and other alts like XMR.

Yup... we are in similar boats.  My power is 11 cents so just recently got in the ballpark of an acceptable "profitability-to-effort" ratio.  I also turned back on all my rigs last June... and also for just over a month lol... until prices dropped again.  Really hoping for a sustained action this time.  Not sure we will see ATH any time soon but if it could even fluctuate between $500-$600 for a while it would be well worth it.

As you point out, anything over $300 range will start to bring more and more people back into mining, which in turn bumps up the difficulty. I'm curious as to how many people like us actually help onto all/most of our gear through this 2nd downswing. Can't imagine there were that many but who knows.  I almost started selling mine off multiple times but just never did it lol.

One thing I might do this time, if we ever hit some crazy number like $500 ETH or $1000 ETH is I will just short hedge it with a margin broker like Bitfinex or Bitmex and just protect myself against any price crashes to ensure I can mine for the foreseeable future.

Can you imagine if your shorted a few hundred's of ETH at $1400 in January 2018 and just closing the position little by little as you mined it bit by bit. Instead of making $0.29/per day/per GPU you would still be making $2.75/day/gpu irregardless of the price.

Only issue with this is if it goes actually POS and you can't mine it or it reduces the issuance again. So the price you can control but not the difficulty or the miner supply.

I'm going to do the same thing, only problem is you have to pay interest and it can be very steep.  I was long 10 BTC and had to pay $240 a day in interest.  Its not always that high but if your on the right side of the trade and making a lot of $ your going to pay interest.

Tempting to buy more Z11s but they are pretty old now, I wounder if they have any more powerful equihash ASICs in the works?
191  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Radeon vii / RTX 2080 Super.? on: February 13, 2020, 07:10:40 PM
Why not the RX 5700?  It can mine eth, c31, c29, MTP and its cheap compared to the rtx series.  New generations of  cards are coming soon also.
192  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Radeon vii / RTX 2080 Super.? on: February 12, 2020, 06:43:36 PM
I had 12 Radeon VII, had to RMA 9.  They fail easy, i would buy rx 5700.
193  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: ETH going ETH2.0, any news for ETC? on: February 11, 2020, 01:45:23 AM
AMD RX 400 and 500 are dead.  I don't think a lot of people mine eth with Nvidia cards.
AAMOF, i do

Some crazy bastards i know have ONLY mined ETH from day one with their Nvidia cards. Years now
i have a buddy i just saw last week that does that, such is his choice.
Its arguable that if he held to a nice ATH then sold, he definitely made a killer profit. And didnt have to jump around like us "active" miners
As his rig has also been hands free for years now, he literally forgets its in his basement for months on end
(its so covered in dust idk how it even runs anymore lol, you cant even tell what cards are in it (their EVGA1070's))

@OP. i agree with Adaseb, i wouldnt worry too much right NOW as ETH tends to never make deadlines Tongue
Mining is centralized mostly now between low power cost locations, and FPGAs
Once ETH goes PoS, the 3 million(?) cards needing something else to mine will Tsunami all PoW coins, ETC included
willl this crush them?or pump some of them? only time will tell! Smiley

Yes i think there is going to be some flooding effect. At least for now ETH difficulty has crashed to around 2T now, not sure what happened but good news. I also see ETC difficulty took similar path:
https://bitinfocharts.com/comparison/difficulty-eth-etc.html

Eth deactivated the difficulty bomb
194  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Can GPU Mining be proffitable in 2020? on: February 10, 2020, 01:56:06 PM
Try new feature - mortgaged mining. More risk, but much more profit, than regular mining. BFC coin is pretty nice atm.

lol, too much risk.  You have to buy lots of coins and you are stuck in a poor preforming coin.  Also it takes 3-4 days to release your mortgaged coins, good luck trying to sell quickly.
195  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: ETH going ETH2.0, any news for ETC? on: February 09, 2020, 11:35:43 PM
AMD RX 400 and 500 are dead.  I don't think a lot of people mine eth with Nvidia cards.
196  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: What will be your biggest fears and risks to setup mining farm. on: February 09, 2020, 05:33:02 PM
I've been mining at home in a detached garage since the beginning of 2017, 120 gpus, a couple ASICs and some FPGAs on a 100 amp 240 line.  For me its all about overhead which is electrical cost I have 6 cent power and its ok.  If I wanted to mine to make a living I would have to rent adding to cost and I would want cheaper power.  If you wanted to make a decent full time living the operation would have to be very big and expensive to start.  Currently I do not see much gear worth buying, BTC having and waiting for new 5nm chips from bitmain and new fmaily of GPUs coming from AMD and NVIDIA.

Doesn't the Sgtrongu miner have lots of problems.
198  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: ASK - Which one do you think more durable and profitable? (CPU or GPU) on: February 04, 2020, 06:33:18 PM
My 120 gpus have been running for 3 years, only maintenance is fan and riser replacement.
199  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Number 9! Ninth altcoin thread. Back to the moon Baby! on: January 31, 2020, 08:24:17 PM
I have 6 cent power 100 amp 240 line and still can't find anything exciting to build or buy.  I want to buy a btc asic but with the having I'm not sure its a good idea.  I keep running my 120 gpus and most are 3 years old waiting for a good opportunity.  I do have 12 5700s that are doing very well but with the NVIDIA 3000 series this year I'm not too hot on buying anymore gpus.  i've been buying BTC instead.
200  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Issues mining eth with smos and claymores 15 on: January 30, 2020, 10:50:03 PM
I have a bunch of 4gb cards mining using smos and phoenix miner.  I try changing the riser.
