381  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: 8th Alt coin thread. Or what to do now that asics are all over the place. on: February 01, 2019, 01:05:51 AM
Nice, I may have to get some 2070s.

It seems like the rtx series is better at some of the newer algos power / hash wise.  My 2080 gets over 7 on grin and 25 on progpow.
382  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Gpu Mining only on: January 30, 2019, 06:11:24 PM
Still mining with 70 gpus and .049 kwh electricity.  I'm going to buy a few gpus but I'm debating which ones, 1000 series vs 2000 series.  1000 series are very cheap but 2000 series should hold their value longer.  I have a 100 amp 240 volt line run to my garage and I plan on maxing it our with mining equipment, but its not much fun right now we need a rally or new coins to mine.  Even with cheap electricity ROI is very long.

$11,000 for $1,000 a month it would take 11 months to break even if your profit stays the same.  Chances seem pretty low it will keep earning 1k a month.
384  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: new RTX 2060 on: January 19, 2019, 11:22:58 PM
I think this card is better at progpow then a 1070 plus it will retain its value longer then a 1000 series card.

Fork has been delayed, lol.

What about Bitcoiin2Gen (B2G)?  I think it has a small dag file.
387  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: What Is Was Like MINING Cryptocurrency Full-Time For A Year + Mining Outlook on: January 13, 2019, 11:32:12 PM
I bought all the equipment I could find at a bargain price in 2018 taking a gamble on the future.  Hope it pays off, I think it will.

What did you buy, I'm looking and debating between 1000 series and 2000 series.  Nadia 1000 series still ok power / hash wise but in a couple years the resale value on 1000 series will be pretty low.   But 2000 series  looks better for ProgPow.  Hard to spend money on anything right now but I have .049 power so I can run and be profitable for a while.
388  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: new mining rig suggestion on: January 11, 2019, 08:01:43 PM
I think new miners focus too heavily on upfront cost as compared to how long it will take to pay off the gpu from mining.  You also need to consider resale value.  If you can afford high-end gpus they are often a better buy if you take into account resale value.  The 1080ti, despite being a pretty old card, is still an in-demand card on the secondary market because you can get 2080 levels of performance on most games for less money.

So I suggest the following calculation.  Calculate the payoff period for the lowest end gpus you're considering (e.g. 580/1060).  These likely have low or negligible (scrap/spare parts) resale value.  Then calculate how much you would earn in that time from a higher end gpu, and add 50% of the price of the higher-end gpu to those earnings (50% being the likely resale value).  I bet the higher end gpu ends up a better buy.

For example:

RX580 purchased new currently takes about 5.4 years to pay off by mining eth.

RTX2080 purchased new will earn roughly $410 in 5.4 years by mining eth.  Selling to a gamer for half price ($400) leaves you with an extra $10.

People who bought 1080ti's for mining are generally doing pretty well.  They can mine on them as long as they're profitable or sell them for a reasonable return.  But there isn't a strong secondary market for 480/580.

You also need to account for the fact that higher-end cards are typically more versatile and powerful for mining other algorithms (especially higher-end nvidia cards).  For example, the RTX2080 can mine e.g. x16r or timetravel or progpow very well.  At current prices, you could pay off a 2080 in a little over three years by mining alternative algorithms.  That's a lot better than the rx580's 5.4 year timeframe.

I'm starting to look at it is way.  I started 2 years ago and bought all my cards right before the boom and I'm surprised at how much value my Navidia cards retained.  I assumed after a crash they would be almost worthless.  I'm looking at replacing my cards, with .049 electrical cost and high resale the risk isn't as big as one would think.  I'm trying to calculate which 2000 series card has the best potential.  Best bang for your buck seems like the 2060 or 2070 but 2080 or 2080 ti might retain more resale value.
389  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Gigabyte GTX 1060 fans: so bad! on: January 09, 2019, 04:39:39 PM
I just take off the fans and glue a fan powered by a molex connection.  The fans cost about $5 at the most, I've had gpus running like this for 2 years.
390  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: ProgPow ASIC? on: January 09, 2019, 04:23:51 PM
Not sure why coins don't have a policy of changing the algo if ASICs are made.  XMR seems to do it and it works seems like laziness on the devs part.
391  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Efudd's Z9/Mini Firmware is now available: v2.1 / Dev Fees Disabled till 12/01! on: November 28, 2018, 11:56:37 PM
I installed 2.1 and I don't have an option to upload a licences file.

The system page says:
Efudd's Z9 Series Firmware v2.1
No dev-fee until 12/01/2018!

But under upgrade no option to upload a license file.

P.S. My Z9 is running faster now then your old firm ware with no clock changes.

Been trading for 20 years and the best time to buy is with extremely high negativity.  I'm not saying its the bottom, but the more negativity we get the better.  The more news reports about doom and the more pole give up the better.  Also holds true for tops, BTC 500,000 or i'll cut off my dick, lol.
393  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: The fate of the Miners on: November 25, 2018, 09:12:25 PM
Need to see a massive dump on huge volume followed by a huge rise on high volume.  This has worked for my trading over the past 20 myears in stockd and comoities.

I’m mining on .049 cent eketricty but it still sucks no fun right now.  Better off buying coin right now, I’m waiting like a vulture for blood to flow before I buy.  Very high negyivety is must with most people giving up when they can’t see a recovery.
394  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: [Awesome Miner] - Powerful Windows GUI to manage and monitor up to 10000 miners on: November 19, 2018, 03:22:47 AM
I can't run crypto dredge or T-Rex on any of my 10 rigs with remote agent.  All of sudden they stopped working, windows defender is turned off and no ant virus.  My main pc that runs awesome miner can run them but none of my remote agent rigs.

A tip, do not use intensity -i 21 for example, it usually gives problems if you indicate intensity. Lower the core of the OC a little.

I suppose you will have activated t-rex on each Rig in your profit profile.

Disable antivirus and firewall in all rigs.

when i run t-rex is says can't start miner, unable to get number of CUDA devices, is nidia driver installed?

I reinstall driver and its still not working

I updated to the latest driver and its working again!

397  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: HasHaltcoin [Blackminer F1] - Bittawm Trust Review on: November 14, 2018, 07:24:15 PM
We have released a New bitstream “algo1” to F1 users. blackminer team are working hard to develop more and more bitstreams for F1 users, and do the best to make users get well returns

i'm looking at my miner and I can't find algo1 to setup as a pool for my miner?
398  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: is it still profitable? How many rigs do the big boys still have... on: November 14, 2018, 02:18:21 AM
What are you guys paying in electricity?  You have to have low overhead in this market to last.  I lucked out and pay $.049 a KWH.
399  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: HasHaltcoin [Blackminer F1] - Bittawm Trust Review on: November 11, 2018, 07:12:34 PM
I assume these are Chinese based?  Paying the hosting fee seems  better then paying the Trump tax.
