541  Bitcoin / Project Development / Re: BAMT - Easy persistent USB key based linux for dedicated miners/mining farms on: May 02, 2012, 12:35:20 AM
Can anyone here tell me how to overclock past the 840mhz limit in ATIcontrolpanel overdrive?

On my windows machine, i can use msi afterburner to go beyond 900mhz.  Im BAMT i am limited to the default 840Mhz in the overdrive control.  I did try making the setting higher in the bamt.conf file, but this seemed to have no real effect on the clocks after restarting the session.

Any tips or help is greatly appreciated to help me squeeze out that last 30 MH/s!  Smiley

What card(s) are you running?
542  Bitcoin / Project Development / Re: BDK Donation Drive for Western High School Band Dep't on: May 02, 2012, 12:07:59 AM
Donation address?  Sounds like a good idea.
Waiting on director whether or not I can do this and how he wants to proceed. Was hoping to get some thoughts - specifically, if people would prefer sending coins directly to the band department if they effectively sold the BTC to receive USD using Bit-Pay, or if they'd rather take the risk of a third-party (me) collecting BTC donations and spending the BTC on items from within the BTC community which the band program needs.

I also threw out that I'd be willing to "buy" the BTC donated and donate USD to the band department at no fee. Or, I could manually handle donations, selling BTC donations for USD through Gox, having the USD go to my bank account, then sending the band dep't what I received (.5-.6% fee from Gox + $.25 for each withdrawal from Dwolla, which is significantly cheaper than Bit-Pay, which I believe charges 2.99%, but that'd be a faster and more direct way for the dep't to receive the donations).

I certainly approve of supporting the Bitcoin community whenever possible, but unless the band program desperately needs expensive GPUs or dedicated servers, you might be hard-pressed to find what they need here; the only Bitcoin-accepting musical instrument shop AFAIK is in Germany. (http://www.realmusicshop.de/en/index?x7ef4c=9e613266daf84ccb6af0ab3ec41d70bc) The most important aspect here IMO is supporting the band program in the most effective way possible. If we can do that and also support the Bitcoin economy, by all means do so, but I don't think it makes sense to support the Bitcoin community at the expense of the band program getting what it needs.

Server is fine, the issues is connection speed and bandwidth.

It's something I'm working on.

Righty-o. Best of luck!

Anyone else getting a 504 gateway timeout?

EDIT: Managed to get in, just slow. Maybe it's on my end.

EDIT2: Seems to be back to normal.

I get the nginx 504 error off and on. Seems to randomly happen
Much better site now tho ftw except said errors

504 has to due with server timeouts; maybe the server is overloaded. (I'm no expert though)

It's absolutely gorgeous!!  A+!

Bootstrap works wonders, doesn't it?
Yes it does.  There are enough Bitcoin sites using it that flow so well that I have started to go "hmmmm, I think the next website I do will use twitter bootstrap".  It's almost not worth it to try and re-invent the wheel.

When is it ever worth re-inventing the wheel, although bootstrap isn't the wheel it's a lot better than what a lot of websites have, a great starting point and I think for financial websites it suits quite well.

I agree entirely. Clean, efficient, aesthetically pleasing, easy to implement, and free. What more could you ask for?

I'll donate a coin or two.

Ditto.

I find things all a bit spaced out. It makes the tables in the portfolio and market views a bit hard to read. Is it possible to get rid of some of that white space?

I'm still getting a 502 error... is it working for you?
550  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: QuickBitcoin, new bitcoin vendor on: May 01, 2012, 06:26:33 AM
From TOS:
Quote
If you place a chargeback or dispute a charge for any order that you placed and received (accidentally or intentionally), there will be a $150.00 research fee charged to your account upon our receiving the chargeback to cover our investigative expenses to prove that you did make the purchase.

And what if you were wrong? We pay $150 if you make an accounting error?

11.9% + $10 fees for CC/PayPal? 4.8% fees for Dwolla? Not trying to demean, but what are you offering that warrants those kind of charges?
551  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: [ANN] GLBSE has a new look! on: May 01, 2012, 06:12:48 AM
Eh, having issues, sorry for the delay.

Best of luck. Tell us if there's anything we can do to help.

Does anyone else find it rather ironic that BFL signs their posts with "Good Luck"?
Well ..... although 'luck' isn't something that can affect the future, looking at your history of hashing is only looking at your 'luck' and nothing more.
i.e. did you get more than expected or less than expected or pretty close to expected.
That is of course meaningless in any term other than how many BTC you gained, since it has NO effect on what you will gain in the future.
But again - it is looking at your 'luck'.
The irony I saw was more in regards to the content of their posts; i.e. "good luck" that we'll implement this feature, or "good luck" that your unit will come soon. Wink

502 error for the site right now. (Sorry if you already know about this, just making sure)

Having trouble enabling two-factor auth. Had it enabled on 2.0, keeps telling me my auth code is incorrect. (It worked fine in 2.0)

i ordered some from that seller before, had to send two back last time, one had a banshee for a fan and the other was doa.

I half expected it to be someone from these forums.

Eh, I doubt it. They could have sold those cards for ~20 USD more here, not even including Ebay fees.
he ended up getting $108 per + shipping as far as I can tell. he declined the offer for $95...

3 5850s went for ~$150 each on here a few days ago.

Anyone willing to send a referral my way?

I'm a fairly small-scale miner and investor looking to diversify my holdings. I've been continually impressed by Pirate's enterprises and business conduct and would like to open an account at BTCST. I joined these forums (and Bitcoin) back last summer, took a few months hiatus due to life, and came back in December. If any further information would help, I'd be glad to provide it.

Thanks,
BinaryMage

...did you read the thread? :\

The whole 43 pages? No, did I miss something? Certainly read the OP.

Edit: Removed, my bad. Apparently the OP and first few pages weren't enough.
