101  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [NINJA] [DRKT] DarkTron [SHA256] on: June 07, 2015, 07:54:53 PM
For the record, the chain mysteriously started working again after the ~entire~ instamine was completed. Regular miners did not get one cheap block of this shit.

we are looking into forking and we will come back with an announcement as soon as we can, forking is rather unfortunate

I'm sure you're just heartbroken.
103  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [NINJA] [DRKT] DarkTron [SHA256] on: June 07, 2015, 07:49:16 PM
this is a NINJA launch an overwhelming amount of people and hashrate got on this right from the word go, relaunching would be a waste of peoples time and money as its a hassle to reset a coin

invalid shares due to accidental mention of x11 on supernova

looking into forking

ah yes well we wouldn't want to hassle you now lol

104  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][NANAS] BananaBits - Home of the 1-Click Masternode! Scrypt NINJA on: June 06, 2015, 05:33:04 PM
Can someone explain me what is a masterenode (aka BananaTree?) and why would i want it?
Also will it eat up resources or is it just like staking?

Whenever someone stakes, if you have a masternode, a masternode is selected from all the masternodes and that masternode gets half the reward. Since there are less people with a masternode, you will get rewarded more often.
One of the extra resources that you will be using  when your masternode is selected for a block is your cpu, which will do a procedure to the block data called coin mixing. The amount of the CPU use is minute. Probably will take your CPU less than a microsecond to do the calculations. Also, from time to time, your masternode may announce to the network it is still there by sending out a ping, which again uses minimal recources. Also, you still have the 5000 coins you reserve for the masternode and can opt to get out at anytime.
Also note, that in order for the masternode to be effective, you do have to run your wallet at all times and keep an internet connection. Unlike staking, you do not get weight by going offline and returning at a later time. Right now my wallet is using less than 1% of my CPU resources and only a little over 90k of ram.

This coin is DPOS so you don't really build weight, the weight of all mature coins = 1. If you are staking you need to run your wallet 24/7 to get your full share of rewards.

hm, looks like BananaTrees are not active now ? Got a full 15 NANAS stake without halving and cant see any trees at wallet ...

It might get orphaned...last hit on my Tree was only 9 minutes ago. Maybe it's possible for some stakes to slip through, MN technology isn't close to the level of refinement that proof-of-stake has.

guys indeed its one of the expensive coin on exchange. wondering if any one wants to share their staking experience at current difficulty and weight how much 2 Greed will stake ( stake reward per day) thinking to buy 2 greeds Smiley thaks

Zero. The first round of staking is over and now that the coin supply is 1 milion you will need a larger amount of coins to be competitive if you want to stake for round 2.

Each round is 200 blocks so logically you'd need 1,000,000/200 or 5000 coins to have a good chance of catching a stake block during round 2, although having the coins staking early can improve your chances there.

I am happy to have been so wrong about GREED staking, my 5000 block went right back into stake as it should and the chain is moving along nicely now. Great work dev, can't wait for round 2!

Quote from: BananaBits
you need to make sure you have good connectivity to the network for good propagation, as the way masternodes work it is dependent on a pinging system where each banana tree announces itself periodically.

Would be helpful to have a full list of nodes then, I am seeing only 4-5 connections typically.

Someone has the first 5000 greed on stake with mature coins?

I found second big block will let you know when it mature, 3 confirmations left  Cool

Did it mature? I got #3 and it should be mature but is still frozen in my stake balance.

None have confirmed yet, its 30 confirms before you can start building age. At least in my client...

Please stop NINJA coin!
I'm tired to loose btc renting miners for those coins without nothing (no decent logo,no roadmap, nothing)

Crazy idea here, and I'm just brainstorming, but what if you just stopped renting for these copycat masternode clones?

Might be a little more effective than expecting a universe full of shitcoin devs to inexplicably bend to your will.

Reward decreases at block 950 according to the OP.

Min coin age for staking?
115  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][CRT] Cryptotarget - The most profitable alt-coin you will ever use. on: June 03, 2015, 08:30:09 PM
Printing billions of coins assuming that crypto's have a minimum price of 1 satoshi is a comically terrible plan. Remember XXL coin? Probably not, it had hundreds of billions of coins and disappeared because people would pay not even 1 litoshi for them. Remember TWERK? Also printed billions of coins, which are also not selling for ~any~ price.

The second this gets listed, 100 btc worth of coins will pile onto the 1 sat sell side instantly, and no one will ever buy into it because you'd have to be completely stupid to buy into a 100 btc sell wall.

I'm seeing 30 confirms needed on my stake block in the wallet, fwiw. Chain seems to be moving 'faster' than expected and with low amounts eventually maturing, we just might see the other side of staking on this one. Nice work dev.
117  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] The Game of [̲̅$̲̅(̲̅ιοο̲̅)̲̅$̲̅] GREED [̲̅$̲̅(̲̅ιοο̲̅)̲̅$̲̅] on: June 01, 2015, 06:52:32 PM
You should have left it closed until block 10995 or so to ensure you have all your weight available.
118  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] The Game of [̲̅$̲̅(̲̅ιοο̲̅)̲̅$̲̅] GREED [̲̅$̲̅(̲̅ιοο̲̅)̲̅$̲̅] on: June 01, 2015, 06:42:06 PM
I was thinking I'd try to play this coin's dumb staking to my advantage but I'm just gonna lay it out for everyone. This can only play out one of two ways:

1) The chain freezes because the 4 hr maturity is based on blocks, not clock time, as was speculated earlier in the thread
2) If the chain does work, the first 2-3 people to have matured stake blocks will get almost all of the remaining POS blocks to themselves, as they will instantly control 97% of the matured coins. This advantage will never be lost as staking progresses, those 2-3 people will forever have 75%+ of the $GREED supply, unless people are actually dumb enough to buy the coins off them in exchange.

For this distribution to work the initial number of coins would have to be like 1000-2000, otherwise there is no way to get to the other side of the staking round without one person having their stakes mature and gaining almost complete control of the staking thereafter.

edit: I like this coin, I like the idea of the distribution method, but as delivered technically it's just a dice roll for controlling interest of the chain by getting the first matured stakes.
119  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] The Game of [̲̅$̲̅(̲̅ιοο̲̅)̲̅$̲̅] GREED [̲̅$̲̅(̲̅ιοο̲̅)̲̅$̲̅] on: June 01, 2015, 06:18:31 PM
Because of high POS diff, it will take several hours per block from here on out. If new coins don't mature as advertised the chain will freeze completely somewhere around block 11075.
120  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] The Game of [̲̅$̲̅(̲̅ιοο̲̅)̲̅$̲̅] GREED [̲̅$̲̅(̲̅ιοο̲̅)̲̅$̲̅] on: June 01, 2015, 05:46:07 PM
There's also the issue where if the coins aren't maturing within ~100 blocks,  the chain will freeze again because there won't be enough stake-able inputs to get us to the other side of block 11200.
