has it occurred to you that you just might have the wrong guy and are just trying to sic a bunch of e-thugs on the wrong person?
That guy tried to impersonate richie more than once. I was aproached by him twice with diferent usernames. Selling me the story that he “richie" had a pump group and is trying to get btc out of you guys. Beware... yes we've all seen these scammers who hang out on IRC. what I am saying is the e-detective work of people is notoriously sloppy and its more likely that he finds an innocent person than the real scammer, who is probably well hidden. so best to just ignore them instead of going on witch-hunts.

Worrying about preventing a 50% attack on a small SHA chain is pointless, theres an endless sea of hash out there and it costs very little to rent a few TH for a few minutes.
A better approach would just be to keep an eye on the chain and alert people if anything suspicious occurs.
That said when I tried to put my miner (antminer s5) on the official pool it didn't work. I'd be happy to volunteer it through block 11000 if I can get it working. I don't want to jack the diff up with a newer miner if that's not what people want, though.
Was there any feedback errors or anything? I proxy it through MRR as it's located remotely, all I see is MRR blocking the pool whenever I try switch over.

How are those big plans comin' along?

the 200 high reward blocks cant have pow otherwise the first person to stake can just blast the stratums and clear the other 200 blocks with pow in five minutes.

My coins with 830 confs are still showing immature so who knows what is even going on with this coin at this point. I don't think you should start the big rewards at block 9000 as people should at least have time after the update to make sure the wallet is working and that their balances are set up properly.

how to see the work staked ? and where can I see information on the award and the multiplier ?
On the overview page of the Qt wallet. https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=1070124.msg11470620#msg11470620I still have not been able to stake. Wallet has been up all day. [....] I have a healthy chunk of coins, I really think I should have seen something after 12+ hours. Coins take 48 hours to mature to stake. These are mature coins! Note the 1500 weight. That's why I posted the staking info. The wallet is unlocked and staking is enabled. There are a half dozen other coins staking perfectly on this machine, I know how POS coins work. I mean that all my coins have been mature for over 12 hours. With 3500 coins I think I should have seen at least ~one~ block if there were no issues.

coooooiiiin geeeeeen Two weeks to retarget difficulty an astonishing leap forward. bravo

He is also neglecting that the coins become completely inaccessible for 110 blocks after staking. After those 110 blocks is when they can START maturing for staking. Meaning it will take hundreds more blocks, as coded, before the first staked coins become available to stake again.
|
|
|
Your understanding is incorrect. Coins that stake remain immature in your stake balance for a number of blocks. Have you never used a POS coin before?? The time for this is 110 blocks in this coin, I can see it in my client. That means that every time someone stakes, AT LEAST 1 coin will go out of circulation completely for 110 blocks.
Since most people will have 1.x coins, and a lot of people wll just have .x, the .x coins will add up to a sufficient number than eventually there will be no mature coins. They won't be able to collect weight or even be transferred as they will be immature.

if you dont reduce the number of confirms for staking it's going to freeze the chain again. i dont know how to explain it any more clearly.
|
|
|
are you going to address the issue wherein
1 coin = minimum to stake 125 coins = total number of coins 110 blocks = number of confirms needed
unless everyone has all their coins split perfectly and staking, all the mature coins will go into stake and the chain will stop, yet again.

you're saying you want to push a hardfork with 1 block notice?? really working hard to earn that premine eh
I'm not saying I want to, I'm asking if you guys want me to. It's a valid option you guys might want to consider is all. I'm content with whatever. ive just never heard a dev suggest debating, agreeing to, and pushing out a hardfork all within the timeframe of a single block, which could be found at literally any second

If it isn't clear by now, the staking isn't going to work properly anyway. The coin count is too low for what DPOS was designed for. Anyone with less than 1 coin per input will not receive any rewards. Eventually all the available inputs over 1 will go into stake and there will be no mature coins left to move the chain.
edit: the low coin count will also cause the chain to be unbearably slow in the interim.

I'm showing 147 weight vs 17 net weight. I understand the POS diff is an issue as well but I expected to see something by now, just wanted to make sure there wasn't a version change or a hyperstake=1 in the conf needed or something.

Turbo Stake FTW!!! Mine is staking nicely!
Anyone got a screen shot? I'll get one up after I'm not mobile.
Mine doesnt appear to be working correctly, my stake weight is ten times the net weight for a couple hours now but no blocks? What is everyone else seeing for weight/net weight?
