81  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Service Discussion (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] [SCAM] Officially Announcing BITTREX Sucks on: June 28, 2015, 04:35:57 PM
holy shit guys fartbags figured out the secret to 1,000,000 BTC volume!!!

amazing of him to share this secret with us instead of creating his own 1,000,000 btc/day exchange.

jesus christ

edit: im not impressed with trex lately either but this thread is just...a little...too...stupid...
82  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Service Discussion (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] [SCAM] Officially Announcing BITTREX Sucks on: June 28, 2015, 04:25:18 PM
Wise words. Bittrex is great as platform, but they have to change their list/delist rules. Every business needs good reputation, that's what Bittrex should follow. And I think thread author wanted to message exactly this. Why mimic C-Cex?! The answer- profit from scams ensured high trade volume.

no, thats the message YOU want to communicate. the original author penned an incoherent and logically stupid rant that led off with this gem of modern english: "Officially Announcing BITTREX Sucks"

the capacity crypto traders have for blaming other people for their stupid mistakes is astonishing. their ability to do it while simulataneously hyping up free markets and trash talking regulated currencies is especially comical

I also stopped getting POS blocks about 4 hrs ago.

I'd like to be wrong here but I have a feeling this one isn't launching in five minutes.

noice

I did great mining this overnight even on a vm instance w/ just 25% cpu power. Fun coin!

I think this one is a virus, some of my old shitcoin wallets just got cleaned out on the instance where I installed this one. Nothing major lost but be careful folks.

I really, really hope and think you are just trolling but thanks for the warning. Please explain what happened.

all of the wallets on the instance were scrambled and when reloaded on another machine, the balances had been sent off to la-la land.

if you're thinking about buying from either of the two sellers before me, i am willing to undercut those prices significantly.

Here if you like to mine it:

https://tennet.suprnova.cc

withdrawal fee is a little high for the br, can you check the tx fees?
91  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] The Game of [̲̅$̲̅(̲̅ιοο̲̅)̲̅$̲̅] GREED [̲̅$̲̅(̲̅ιοο̲̅)̲̅$̲̅] on: June 17, 2015, 08:29:26 PM
Almost all of the major dumps were me, I exploited the chain exactly like I said could be done earlier:

I was thinking I'd try to play this coin's dumb staking to my advantage but I'm just gonna lay it out for everyone. This can only play out one of two ways:

1) The chain freezes because the 4 hr maturity is based on blocks, not clock time, as was speculated earlier in the thread
2) If the chain does work, the first 2-3 people to have matured stake blocks will get almost all of the remaining POS blocks to themselves, as they will instantly control 97% of the matured coins. This advantage will never be lost as staking progresses, those 2-3 people will forever have 75%+ of the $GREED supply, unless people are actually dumb enough to buy the coins off them in exchange.

For this distribution to work the initial number of coins would have to be like 1000-2000, otherwise there is no way to get to the other side of the staking round without one person having their stakes mature and gaining almost complete control of the staking thereafter.

edit: I like this coin, I like the idea of the distribution method, but as delivered technically it's just a dice roll for controlling interest of the chain by getting the first matured stakes.

I got the third and fifth stake blocks, missed my chance to split up the first one I got before it staked again but I split the other block into 40 pieces, almost all of which produced a stake, and a few of the children stacks even staked again, giving me 32% of the supply after phase 1, starting from 5.5 coins. Apparently the people who got the first two stake blocks didn't heed my advice as they could also have had 1/3 or more of the chain to themselves had they split the coins.

So here's the thing: this coin isn't DPOS as advertised, its HiPOS. What does that mean? It means that the coins build weight. With DPOS the weight of all mature coins = 1. With HiPOS older coins have an advantage. Since the dev had the oldest coins of all, he could have monopolized the supply to an insane extent if he actually split his stack appropriately. I'm talking like 90+% control of the chain after round 1. That said he doesn't seem the brightest bulb and clearly wasn't maximizing his advantage, I could see this on the several rounds following the first, as I was usually the one to kick the chain first and catch those 20-30 instablocks.

Because the distribution is so weighted to large holders of the oldest coins, as I outlined in my earlier warning, I had a huge advantage going into each stake round. Between rounds I would sell my newer minted coins down to 15% of the chain, then stake right back up to 25%. This is because the oldest coins have the most weight, and since I was the first to kick the round of blocks at the start of each round, I always had the oldest coins going into the next round.

Towards the end of POW I started to see evidence of a holder larger than me on the chain, but I also sold my stack down significantly by the last stake round, to below 10% of the total supply.

I think its likely the dev wanted to dump all his coins but maybe was too greedy with the price and let me take most of the sells for some reason, or maybe he really botched the staking, I don't know. Like I said earlier, he could have gotten nearly all the coins so the whole thing doesn't make a lot of sense.

Good game folks.

edit: i still have about 3.9 million in the unlikely event anyone is still trying to figure out where the coins are
92  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: ★★★ HedgeCoin | KGW+DGW | MaruCoin tribute | X13 | Diff based rewards ★★★ on: June 13, 2015, 05:39:04 AM
Renting more hash gives me less coins, retard. Why would I pay to get less?

your attitude is ridiculous and you're a lot less right than you think you are. at the end of the day we all get the same reward and the biggest miner gets the biggest piece. if the coin ever becomes worth anything, that makes him the winner.

also for all you know he's playing you and he got 10-20 of the solo blocks and is running the reward down for everyone else. not likely but who knows.

93  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: ANNOUNCEMENT YEP - Launch POW/POS 200% YEP SHA256D YEP on: June 11, 2015, 06:55:36 PM
Coin miners found block 30 after 3 hours.

The diff went up.

See you guys next year for block 31.

nm: misread the front page

If brevity is a concern HDG is fairly classy. I like HEDG and HDGE as well.
95  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: ★★★ HedgeCoin | KGW+DGW | MaruCoin tribute | X13 | Diff based rewards ★★★ on: June 10, 2015, 10:19:50 PM
I like the cut of your jib but I must confess I find your choice to use the ticker "EDGE" instead of "HEDGE" to be a bit odd, considering the first edgecoin was an ipo scam and the second was released just a few days ago and is still mining.
96  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] [XCE] Cerium [DICE] [Commodities] on: June 09, 2015, 03:17:46 AM
It's based on inputs, not addreses. Enable coin control in settings to see what your inputs look like. You can have as many inputs as you want tied to one address.

Any size input will receive the full size stake.

Ideally, you benefit from an arbitrarily large number of inputs. In practice you just want it so that no more than 10% of your coins are ever immature. I usually split into about 25-50 small inputs. Larger position sizes should use more inputs.

After round 8 it could be fun to reset the game with a chain swap. At the end of round 8 a new chain is created, everyone gets their coins reduced by a bunch, and the whole process starts again on the new chain. We could keep the game going endlessly! It would also give people incentive not to just dump on the exchange after round 8 is done. We could also have another POW period to allow new miners to get in again.

98  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [NINJA] [DRKT] DarkTron [SHA256] on: June 08, 2015, 07:17:32 PM
a fork means the coin was set up  incorrectly from square one. hundreds of coins have launched with far more hash and had zero issues.

blaming the pool operator or the miners for a fork is truly idiotic
99  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] Shell Coin [Bittrex_Yobit_C-cex][Masternode Android Wallet Released] on: June 08, 2015, 05:25:26 PM
My node has stopped seeing any returns as well. I expect all the original seed nodes are shut down so the network is floundering. Anyone have a good list of working nodes?
100  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [NINJA] [DRKT] DarkTron [SHA256] on: June 07, 2015, 08:03:27 PM
please read ocminer's statement, pools are responsible for the forking error here and everything should be running smoothly.

theres a huge private pool/solo miner on this, naturally the darktron team are mining but nowhere near the hashrate of the others.

in a coin lifecycle there is naturally a miners dump and people can buy and sell the coins as they wish, it just means traders will get the coins cheaper than they should in the end. the dev team isnt responsible for how the community reacts to the launch. We can only fix things if they are broken (which they arent) or improve our coin (see the roadmap) we are here for the long term and not too worried about the initial price, eventually the coins value will shine through

you think someone just happened across this ninja launch, decided to compile a private stratum, set it up faster than ocminer magically, then put so much hash to it they forked the chain AND got recognized, by themselves, as the only legit chain?

you must think we are pretty fucking stupid. what worries me is you may be right.
