Um... a bit confused here. The link from slushpool.com (see bottom of page) to it's maintainer Braiinz is to http://www.braiins.cz/. You're providing an entirely new domain - braiins-os.org - and that too from a newbie account. How do users trust that you're actually THE Braiinz that's maintaining SlushPool? Maybe a linkback from http://www.braiins.cz/ would help? Frankly, with the number of scams going around, I would seriously think twice about installing non verified firmware, from a new source, on my antminers. Been bitten once already. You dont have to install it, you just put it on an SD card and you can test it in whatever sandbox you would like to use. Braiinz is the company that runs slushpool.....Braiinz OS is just a product they have put out. Is it really that confusing? Many many companies have a corporate website that is different from the website they offer products through.

I am able to get an s9 to boot from the SD card but the python script that is supposed to install the OS to the controller itself is completely broken and doesnt work. It just pukes out garbage when following the instructions to the letter: Connecting to remote host... /home/geo/braiins-os-firmware_zynq-am1-s9_2018-09-22-1-8d9b127d/factory_transition/.env/lib/python3.5/site-packages/paramiko/rsakey.py:119: CryptographyDeprecationWarning: signer and verifier have been deprecated. Slush has a new OS out for the s9 and T1....anyone testing it yet? Curious to see how the machines react to the new firmware. https://braiins-os.org/

Maybe it's a Bitmain shill site?
Why do people go immediately to the dumbest sounding conspiracy ideas possible whenever anything isnt exactly as expected?

Hi guys, We've just reviewed the latest GEFORCE RTX 2080 and compared its mining performance against the GTX 1080 on 4 different algos. Just wanted to share the video we've produced to show you the results. 📹 You can view the video here: https://www.cudominer.com/rtx2080benchmark/Here are the results: Hashrate Ethash NVidia GTX 1080 Founders OC: 20.2 Mh/s (28.7 with Ethpill) Gigabyte RTX 2080 OC: 35.3 Mh/s (+75%) Cryptonight Variant 1 NVidia GTX 1080 Founders OC: 507 h/s Gigabyte RTX 2080 OC: 769 h/s (+50%) Lyra2REv2 See the following images for tables and graphs: https://imgur.com/a/ZvPdYcohttps://imgur.com/a/iQmZkdTNVidia GTX 1080 Founders OC: 42.1 Mh/s Gigabyte RTX 2080 OC: 72.1 Mh/s (+70%) Equihash NVidia GTX 1080 Founders OC: 391 Sol/s Gigabyte RTX 2080 OC: 566 Sol/s (+45%) Where are these numbers coming from? My EVGA 1080 Hybrid did more out of the box in every single algo that you posted. The data does not seem to be very accurate based on my personal experience.

so why does everyone think they are entitled to this massive overclock on these?
People seem genuinely confused and offended that their machine can only overclock 50% over the advertised rate.
No one promised you anything but 10k sols, if you get even a fraction more than that you should be happy.
Instead people want to try and RMA machines that dont overclock enough for their liking?

You shouldnt be hearing about them here as this is the bitcoin section of the forum.

unless we don't win back at least the house in Nov 2108 it's only going to get worse unless you like trump then he can do no wrong, i personally hate the fucker, can't stand to see trump on tv ETC .. lets hope we get some kind of balance back in Nov 2018 and there might even be a senate win . unless ofc you like trump then no more said because his followers are unbelievable, I have talked to a few of them is about all I'm going to say.
Im thinking we leave the politics out of the hardware section for now. The real question is how did Avalon miss their own announcements targeted specs by so much?

https://bitcoinexchangeguide.com/breaking-bitmain-7nm-bitcoin-asic-mining-chip-bm1391-announced/Well just when people think bitmain is down and out they seem to pull another rabbit out of their hat. Lab tests show 42 j/gh...if they can bring it to market around 50 j/gh then once again noone will be able to touch them. Edit: I put this in speculation since the hardware hasnt been released or shown to actually exist. Didnt see the topic in the hardware section already. Mods can remove if necessary.

I'm seeing around 11 ksol/s with no OC currently. I'll have to try another work around later like flashing an older version of the firmware.
There is no magic to it, just flash batch 1 firmware and you dont have to do all that random editing and whatnot, you can just select from a drop down menu. I am curious to see if the batch 3s are even less overclockable than batch 2 or if they have just settled with this configuration as final

If the ethlargement enhancement also works for the 20xx series, then it may not be particularly relevant (depending on the final numbers, of course).
Since the pill was created and written specifically for gddr5x, it wont just work out of the box on a different type of memory, lets use some common sense here.

You can use windows ICS to share internet through the ethernet port from the wireless adapter, ive done it many times

Wow thats garbage, how do they expect to sell something that cant compete with everything else coming out? Especially after announcing 26-30TH at the same wattage less than 2 months ago.
Its also claiming 1700w + 20%? So expect 2000 watts I guess....
That puts efficiency near the 0.10 w/gh range....thats almost as bad as an S9

Have you SSH'd in to check if the filesystem is full somehow?
|
|

Yours without PSUs?
His with PSUs?
Without PSUs = a Component = 2.6%
WIth PSUs = a complete unit and a different classification and a 20% fee?
No PSUs for either of us. Nothing at all different other than carrier.

Do you know with a 750 the miner is slower than 700 ?
when I set up Z9 mini at 700 I get 15.5 Kh/s while at 750 14.5 Kh/s !
This is not correct. You need to be looking at the average hashrate taken over a long period of time, I assume you are either looking at the current hashrate (it fluctuates quite a bit) or not giving enough time to calculate an accurate average. my average at 750 is 16.95 Ksols/s over the past 24 hours. Sometimes into the 17s Actually he is correct. Every batch 2 i have played with either has a reduced hashrate or none at all when running at 750. Personally I cant push mine past 675 without dropping boards.

Its all so screwed up.
I recently purchased 4 z9 minis from bitmain and paid $37 in customs fees.
My coworker purchased 2 z9 minis and UPS charged him a $506 customs fee.
Both out of the same batch and delivered within days of each other.

Not exactly from now on. I just got served a notice of action today for miners I imported in November of 2017 that the now clarified classification will retroactively be applied to all of my imports and this could result in additional fees due.
This is exactly what happened to us. We received a mid 6 figure bill for things we imported before any of this was even a law.

What is the OP even talking about? Difficulty is not tied to a coin price, it never has been.
Spouting off these stupid conspiracy theories doesnt help anyone. Its actually actively dangerous to spread such misinformation.

|
|
Anyone know of anyone who is working to fight this? I'd love to connect.
I wrote a paper for my company on this when they asked me to attempt to clarify the ruling. However, as was pointed out, by the letter of what they say there is no room to argue. ASICs are not freely programmable.
