If anyone is interested (and honestly, I don't blame you if you're not) he also posts on tardcointalk.org as zackkoZM. Just FYI.

As an asides, Vik Badbitclown, how's your scrypt.cc 'investment' holding up?

can't wait to read an official announcement regarding their scrypt.cc recommendation.

I'd love an official announcement, but in reality we all know how this will go down. He/she/it will simply deny there are any problems at all and call anyone who claims otherwise fudders, because, you know, they have the best team of investigators in the world and they know secret things you don't. Or something.

You won't ever get an admission that he/she/it were wrong.

To me, that statement of 'Garza's' reads like it was written by ViK. There are chunks of sentence structure and phrases that are very similar to the way he/she/it/they writes. It's possible, of course that it was edited or tidied up from a statement by Garza. Either way, that's certainly not Josh's writing voice.

In a slightly demented way, this whole new period of this saga is fascinating...

Is it a coincidence that Badbitcoin (Vik) and Bitcoinist distance themselves from GAW/Garza on the same day? Thoughts on the identity of Vik perhaps being Vivien on the Bitcoinist staff?

This seems likely, but to be honest I don't think it really matters who exactly ViK is, the point is that he/she/it/they have been forced to backpedal now. He/she/it/they were one of the final remaining perpetuators of the legitimacy myth of GAW and Garza, and hopefully with them out of the picture less people will potentially be tempted to invest in any scams Garza attempts. Obviously from a personal standpoint I'd love to see the slimy, pompous git publicly apologise for continuing to allow Garza to legitimise his assortment of crap through badbitcoin.org for so long, but I doubt that'll ever happen...

I'm just going to add to this, since I've had a few idle moments to do a bit of digging, that I think perhaps it's unlikely that ViK is Vivien from Bitcoinist. The badbitcoin twitter feed appears to be written by the same person, and whoever it is makes references to matters in the UK. Vivien is Hungarian, I believe.

Looks like the penny may have finally dropped for good ol' super sleuths badbitcoin.org, who appear to have silently removed their hilariously overblown and pompous statement about GAW and Garza from their homepage. So near yet so far, though, as they still haven't added it to their 'badlist'.

Honestly, I'm inclined to think that anyone who voluntarily gets involved with Garza at this stage with all the evidence that's openly and easily available to research needs their head examined. Astonishingly stupid.

So, MrCEO hasn't posted on hashtalk for nearly 4 days straight. This seems suspiciously quiet for him. Where is he? Any ideas? Could he finally have done a runner?

Just in case anyone was under any illusion that this CoinCard thing might be real, MasterCard have no knowledge of any relationship between themselves and CPIG/GAW/Coin/CoinCard or whatever Josh chooses to refer to himself as: https://mobile.twitter.com/AskMasterCard/status/596348542324576257

Hey Mac Friends! I had this problem too, I'm not sure if by luck/chance it worked... however, this is what i did.

Download Mac client from vertcoin site, in your downloads see Vertcoin.QT.DMG
Simply open that, and when it tells you to 'drag to applications folder' - DON'T, just double click and run it. Smiley That worked for me - just move it into your apps folder after, or keep in dock Smiley

thanks

Thanks. I'm trying this now.

I second this. How anyone realistically thinks this coin will succeed without anyone actually knowing about it is beyond me. I really hope that Scharmbeck and the Worldcoin Foundation have arranged a nice PR push to coincide with the Feb 20th launch, or else it'll be a damp squib at this rate -- I'm sure they have though.

My understanding is that the marketing will start once Scharmbeck is fully functional for the public. Waste of funds to promote services that aren't available.

That's great. Thanks for the reply. Do you know if they're getting a PR company to do it, or is it being done in house? I'm looking forward to seeing some nice, juicy marketing for the coin, then!
