1  Other / Off-topic / Re: Is there any happiness in marriage? on: August 27, 2018, 07:07:02 AM
Marriage really is a great blessing and every part of it should bring happiness. This is of course possible only when it is done right. Many people dishonor principles these days and expect to have a great marriage. I say this not just as a conservative Christian but also from common sense. Your points are very valid. If you aren't financially stable, you really have no business with marriage. But mistrust must be handled between the two partners. It is how you show maturity, I believe.
2  Other / Off-topic / Re: Porn sites on: August 26, 2018, 05:28:13 AM
Wow, we now discuss porn advice here? Didn't really see that coming. Porn is really addictive anyway. I know most folks don't wanna hear this. But apart from other deeper consequences of watching porn, there are some that affect you in very basic ways. Porn can actually affect your sex life negatively. It mostly also impedes your average productivity. It's almost just like any other addiction. Takes a toll on your brain cells in the end of it all.
3  Economy / Speculation / Re: Will Bitcoin continue to fall this year? on: August 25, 2018, 07:20:13 PM
I really want to be optimistic. But the signs hardly permit me to be. The truth is Bitcoin might not stop falling very soon. But I envisage that there might be some turnaround towards the end of the year. We aren't to expect anything dramatic though. But something positive might happen then. In the mean time, we should keep on trading. That might be difficult in light of the negative information spreading. One thing is sure anyway; selling now is not a wise option.
4  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Do you agree that Bitcoin is nearly to be just like another business? on: August 23, 2018, 12:33:09 PM
When you say Bitcoin is just like any other business, I am somehow confused. Because that statement can mean quite a number of things. I think from your post, it refers more to its acceptance. In regards to that,I think your statement is mostly true. More and more enterprises seem to be jumping on the Bitcoin train. But I can also interpret it to mean how people view the cryptocurrency. Most of the new folks just see it as another avenue for profit. And it was really not invented to be. The technology and idea behind cryptocurrencies isn't actually like other business concepts.
5  Other / Off-topic / Re: Why would anyone choose to live singles? on: August 21, 2018, 09:02:28 AM
There are quite a number of reasons, my friend. Issues as marriage are very complicated. Many people had romantic relationships that scarred them emotionally. It is experiences like that make some people resolve to never marry. Some others settle to be single for other reasons. It could be because of freedom. We know there's a certain lifestyle that a happy marriage does not permit you to have. Some are just not ready for the financial, physical, emotional responsibilities. So, it could be for very very many reasons.
6  Economy / Marketplace / Re: your own factors behind an investment on: August 19, 2018, 06:19:03 PM
These days, many projects are just coming up. So, it makes it really to difficult to know which one is the really deal or not. Even the most experienced of investors still fall victims. Honestly, one can see all the good signs before investing. Then all of a sudden, things wrong and you find out that it was the wrong choice. In all, I look out for the team behind a project before investing. A good team under normal circumstances always yields great results. And of course the project needs to have a certain level of exposure too.
7  Other / Off-topic / Re: Most successful people like sports and meditation, and what about you? on: August 17, 2018, 07:35:59 AM
I was watching a video about this topic on YouTube recently too. And I found out that many successful people actually have some habits in common. If you ask, what about me? It is really difficult to answer. Because I am yet to consider myself as a success Grin So, not very much to learn from me. But there were times I was really productive. And I think waking up and sleeping early, as simple as it may sound, was largely responsible for that.
8  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Populism why do so MPs say it like it's a bad word .. on: August 16, 2018, 06:46:11 PM
The prevalence of populism can cause a lot of hysteria. Your tone in your post betrays the same. It is okay at times when the people, the masses get their will done. But there are times when the public opinion is wrong and dangerous. I remember a popular philosopher asked that what comes after the orgy? The truth is we do not often know the answer. We always want things to change. But the question is do we really know what we want them to change to? Who would you rather have in positions of power in the place of the politicians you so severely loathe. What will it take to appease the people? This is the question populism mostly doesn't answer.
9  Economy / Economics / Re: Is legalized marijuana good for the economy?? US Citizens might talk here.. on: August 11, 2018, 07:48:46 AM
Its very good for the economy, if we are being specific. Medicinal Marijuana can bring in millions if not billions of dollars annually if properly managed and properly produced as a finished product. The medical advantages of this plant are plenty but let just throw in some statistics on the financial aspects and job creation:
Legalizing marijuana on the federal level could result in an additional $105.6 billion between 2017 and 2025, according to a new report from the cannabis analytics firm New Frontier. That figure includes projections for business tax revenues, payroll withholdings, and a 15% sales tax. Meanwhile, fully legalizing cannabis today would add 654,000 jobs and up to 1 million jobs by 2025.
10  Other / Off-topic / Re: Human's immortality on: August 09, 2018, 08:57:18 AM
There are so many things that were just theories in that we thought we could not attain, and now here we are, curing diseases, flying in the skies, now I hear there is a cure for cancer and AIDS. That which has been proven difficult to attain, humans have in times without numbers has beaten all odds.
So would not be surprise to hear that 100% human immortality is possible. By the curing of disease is kind of prolonging human  life which I can term as partial human immortality.
Although it will take decades to attain this, but once this is discovered, it will be very expensive for many.
11  Other / Politics & Society / Re: God on: August 02, 2018, 08:17:58 AM
For every living thing, there is a creator. Our invention is technology, and Gods invention is us. But many people will say that because they have never seen any evidence to suggest that gods are not fictional, and it seems that neither have atheists, because none of the reasons they use to justify their faith comes close to being evidence, or even particularly reasonable.
And their conviction is further reinforced by the way that some atheists regard unbelief, or the belief in different gods to their own, as deserving of violent punishment. this makes many wonder why they're so afraid of disbelief.
12  Economy / Economics / Re: Will Economy Grow Forever? on: August 01, 2018, 08:29:35 AM
Here is my thought on growth forever:

Yes and No.

No, because at present economic growth depends on increasing our use of natural resources, and all natural resources have firm and absolute upper limits to supply.
Possibly Yes, IF we can figure out how to constantly increase economic output without any increases in the use of natural resources. That's clearly not something that many have contemplated to date, but I see no reason why it should be declared absolutely impossible. (NB: I did NOT say that human population could increase indefinitely because that is a different thing).

One way I could envision relatively indefinite economic growth is, after every person in the world has their basic needs provided including perfectly recycled electronic communication devices and it appears there can be no further economic growth, some author writes a new "Lord of the Rings" series, and a movie producer decides to make the movie and sell copies. GDP increases. Someone writes a poem and sells 7 billion copies. Someone else paints an electronic image and sells it to a collector. etc. etc. etc.  This sort of growth could go on for a very long time.
13  Other / Off-topic / Re: How do I enjoy my youth by living my best life, when I have no money? on: July 31, 2018, 08:31:00 AM
Focus on the more important things and get them done. If you work harder and are diligent you'll earn more to help you live the life you desire in the future. But at the moment you can have friends around and worry less to stay happy. Also read self help books.

Thank you for the contribution. Just to add more information, I do not claim to be not happy, I have friends and family that are very supportive and happy people, but the essence of my post was to find new ways on how I can be able to achieve my side goals of life using the ideas posted on this post.
14  Other / Off-topic / Re: How do I enjoy my youth by living my best life, when I have no money? on: July 31, 2018, 08:20:49 AM
Don't be fooled, you don't need money to enjoy your life.  The best things in life are free, having a fancy car or flying first class will only leave you feeling empty inside.

I get your point, but I have a bucket list that I want to fulfill before the age of 30. And most of the things I want to do require money. I do not ignore the fact that the best thing given to us that makes us happy and not  replaceable are free. I mean love, family, friends, nature etc. But there are other things I want to do, like sky diving, waterboarding, learn how to fly a parachute and the list goes on.
Do you think it's asking too much of myself?
That's a great start! It's so good that you have specific goals you're working toward. The first thing you should do is put a dollar value to all of your goals. I hope your bucket list isn't just in your head. Make sure you have it down on paper. Look up every thing that you want to do and find out how much it really costs. You will be surprised that some of the things are cheaper than you expect. If you want to skydive and learn to parachute, maybe there's another way to get to your goal. You could try to get a job at a skydiving place. Waterboarding is a torture tactic. Seems like a strange goal, but maybe you could consider joining the military. There you could make money, skydive, and waterboard.  Wink

Hey Bruce, I do have written bucket list and I appreciate your advice. Just out of curiosity, do you have a bucket list? Did you manage to attain them and did you have the same problems with funds?
15  Other / Off-topic / Re: How do I enjoy my youth by living my best life, when I have no money? on: July 30, 2018, 09:12:01 AM
One should always live within his or her means, key to happiness is contentment!

That is true somehow. But does it mean it mean that I should not seek higher goals in life for self progression? I was told that when you conform to an attained goal for too long, you will never progress in life.

I only make $1820 a month working 40 hours a week, so $910 every 2 weeks. $50 goes into a savings account for Christmas, $180 goes to car insurance, at least $300 I try to put on my credit cards, (sometimes more as I want them paid off) and I pay $90 for health insurance (which is super cheap I know, but I only qualify because I make so little).
I try to throw some in savings, but I'm 23 I want to go out and have fun but EVERYTHING is so expensive...after my bills I have some left over but there is always a birthday or expense for my pets or car.
Just want to live life to the fullest but having little money makes it difficult....
18  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Electric Cars - The future ? on: July 28, 2018, 06:12:35 AM
At the moment it looks like electric motored cars are the future but instead of batteries they will be fitted with hydrogen fuel cells that convert hydrogen in the cell to produce electricity to operate the electric motor. These cars are already on our roads being tested.
The advantage of hydrogen fuel cells over batteries is you will be able to pull up at a gas station and pump in fresh hydrogen just like a gas driven internal combustion engine cars and you have instant full tank again unlike batteries that takes many hours to recharge before you can drive on.
19  Other / Off-topic / Re: Transgenders. on: July 26, 2018, 02:03:22 PM
I'm not exactly supportive of people getting major surgical alterations because I have the biased idea that people should learn to accept the bodies they were born with. In my mind sex is determined simply by what organs are present, I think 'gender identity' is largely an artificial construct, as for most people I think it is superseded by individual personality.
For instance I don't see myself as 'a male' I see myself as me who has a biologically male body. There is just too much variation in body types and personalities for me to see any specific combination as 'correct', but if someone simply cannot live with the body they were given then I guess I don't mind surgery, just advise against it.
20  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Can facebook change the way you vote ?. on: July 25, 2018, 12:14:17 PM
Channel 4 news saying facebook is a danger to democracy ..Is it?

I believe our normal TV media stations are more of a danger to democracy than facebook..
They spread PROPAGANDA    tv stations ..

My vote goes by the way my area is acting ..Acting all nice like no shootings then good leaders
Loads of shootings and poverty then not even facebook or the media will change my mind..
I votes to avoid news from Tv broadcast, the news content about politic and economy are filled with manipulation and propaganda.
Even though Facebook are not best place for news sources, but i think it is more democracy rather than Television news source, because in Facebook many community can show up their opinion and critics about politician and how black business impact so far.
Of course, Facebook affects how I vote. I do not see much difference between Facebook and TV. Both are the mass media. And by definition - the means of manipulation, too. I watch TV very rarely. More often I learn news from social networks. But I do not trust information about politicians 100% ever. It is obvious that PR-services of any politician know exactly how to manipulate your opinion about them. And they do it all the time. Facebook is just a tool.
But Facebook gives a lot of different opinions and sources of information. You can check the information several times.

This does not guarantee that my vote in the elections is absolutely conscious, but I am calm, because I did everything I could.
