201  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [PRE-ANN][SUPER] SuperCoin - X11 and 1st coin with both PoW and PoS superblocks! on: May 25, 2014, 09:00:38 AM
here is a similar coin in some way

SPECIFICATIONS
JackpotCoin
JPC

- PoW/PoS independent
- 3 transaction confirmations - average less than 1 min confirmation
- 70 minted block confirmations
- Total coins will be approximately 30 billions.

PoW:
- Jackpot Hash Algorithm (JHA - a variation of SHA-3 algorithm)
- Minable by both CPU and GPU, both CPU miner and GPU miner are provided
- 120 sec block target
- diff retarget each block
- Initial payout will be 100000 coins per block
- True random superblock
- Superblock payout (aka the jackpot) will starts at 10X normal block payout, and grows parabolically when the distance with last superblock increases. The average interval between superblocks will be 3.5 days. The payout starts at 10X normal payout, grows to 100X at 3.5 days, and then grows to 1000X at 7 days (if the superblock not triggered). After 7 days, the payout will stay at 1000X, but at the end of the 8th day if still no superblock is triggered by the random number, the system will gradually increase the chance for a superblock until a 1000x superblock is triggered.
- block payout will be reduced 10% each week (will be halved at approximately each 7 weeks).
- minimum payout for PoW will be 1 coin/block (will be reached after 2+ years)

PoS:
- 20 sec block target
- diff retarget each block
- PoS daily interest payout initially at 0.1% per day (equivalent to 44% annual interest rate), gradually dropping down to 0.01% per day (equivalent to 3.7% annual rate), the decrease will be over a period of 5 years (rate adjusted each 3 months). Then it will stay at this rate.
- minimum holding time before the pos will be generated: 1 day.
- max accumulated coin-day is 100 days (after 100 days, only the 100-day coin-day will be counted).

1% premine to cover development costs (website, server, development), code maintenance/enhancements, bounties, shops/games, faucets/giveaways etc.

JPC has 30 billion coin, and the price now is 32 Satoshi

so supercoin has only

Total PoW coins will be 50,000,000.
Total PoW coins will be 100,000,000
- Total coins (including PoS) will be about 150,000,000.
   0.15billion.total coin

so jpc amount is 200 times of Supercoin.

so the reasonable supercoin price may hit 32Satoshi*200=6400 Satoshi

that mean 15K supercoin= 15000 supercoin= 1BTC if supercoin hit a exchange platform.

if we think about the innovation on the super pos block of supercoin, the price should be higher,

may hit 10K supercoin=1BTC

hi  everyone in community, this the reasonable price, no reason to sell your coin under 10K satoshi.

so with pos start soon, everything is much better.
The message well received.

go supercoin!!

205  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: My first BTC trade! ;D on: May 25, 2014, 07:39:54 AM
I also want some newbie tips on trading.

But it seems like you held on the coins for a bit, before you sold them? I`m pretty to new at this, but it sounds like you are day trading? or no.

If you are looking into day trading, dont bother. 90% lose money.

I`m sure it looks attractive to do, but its better to sell something on here then to day trade. The timing in the market are too volatile and theres other ways to make $$.

thats not true at all.
if you have experience with trading you can profit in any market. to an extent at all.

208  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: BTC MINING is it still profitable on: May 25, 2014, 07:35:13 AM

it really depends on your electricity costs, the taxes on getting hardware, and other fixed costs

in long run, depends too how popular btc will get, because bitcoin reward per clock will be halved from time to time(you will get less btc with same computational efford)

won't matter at all. the increased difficulty will not allow you to ROI on a small time investment any time soon

large investments only allow for re-investing.

If you make $40 per day and 5 days later you make $28 per day, you are going to be looking at a long road for ROI. The difference with large investments is they make enough to add to the overall hash and continue to earn an ~averaged~ same profit at the expense of more power. If they don't reinvest then their overall ROI will take very long too

It's not really profitable unless you invest a helluva lot of money on equipment, so it's generally considered out of reach for newbs. If you want to try mining try out a new altcoin to get a understanding of the whole process.

agreed!
209  Bitcoin / Mining / Re: Antminer S1 solo mining - is it working? on: May 25, 2014, 07:27:53 AM

I did hit 300+M whilst on bitsolo but that didnt get me a block, so that's what confused me regarding block awards..

Hopefully this answers your question. Eg, don't solo mine. Connect to the p2pool network properly, and enjoy.
thank you for pointing out the facts for him Smiley

213  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: Dreamcoin [DRM] - X11 - PoW/PoS on: May 25, 2014, 07:15:43 AM
Hey Everyone.

I've been watching how you've handled what has transpired with Dreamcoin and have been nothing short of highly impressed.  This is one of the best early coin communities I have seen.  As such, I'd like to offer a suggestion on the direction this coin takes.  To show I am serious, I just bought the shit out of Dreamcoin; I am putting my money where my mouth is.  You may or may not remember me from the last thread, but let me just say, when it comes to Cryptocurrencies, I am VERY good at what I do.

The biggest issue Dreamcoin has right now is you have nothing to set you apart.  You're a clone coin.  There is no innovation.  There is nothing unique about you.  Yes, you might get lucky and get some sort of pump, but it won't be sustained.  I mean no disrespect when I say this, it's just the reality of cryptocurrency.

It doesn't have to be this way.  Dreamcoin can be something special.  Dreamcoin can do good in this world.  And as a result, all of you can profit.

I had a Dream...

I had a Dream where I walked through the villages, towns, and cities of the world and I didn't see any homes with lawns.  Lawns are an enormous environmental burden that take water, fertilizer, pesticides, and herbicides, and give NOTHING back except a nice looking park-like atmosphere.  They epitomize a culture disconnected from nature as well as their food supply.  But slowly, that has been changing.  People have been waking up to this reality and turning their lawns into food-producing gardens.  A couple examples:

the dream is real!!!

Local food production MUST be a part of our future.  Removing our unproductive, resource-hogging lawns is a large part of that solution.  Installing organic gardens in their place helps the environment, provides high quality food in a world where food is becoming ever-more expensive and unhealthy, creates community, and the list goes on.  "Food not lawns" is a burgeoning movement and I feel Dreamcoin can play an enormous part in it, to everyone benefit.

How?

We incentivize people removing their FRONT lawns and installing a garden.  It may sound cheesy, but I assure you, this can be amazing.  For example:

1.  We would create a Dreamfund.  If the community agrees to this idea, I will start the fund with a donation of 25,000 DRM.
2.  Anyone who wants to take advantage of this incentive first takes a photo of their front lawn that will be removed WITH a piece of paper saying, "My Dream is becoming a reality thanks to Dreamcoin" or something along those lines.
3.  They take measurements of the lawn to get a total square foot area.
4.  They post progress pics along the way.
5.  Once they are done, they receive $0.20 per square foot of lawn that was removed in Dreamcoin.  So if they removed 1000 square feet, they would get $200.00 worth of Dreamcoin.  Over time, this amount can be adjusted as necessary with people who have already submitted their photos being grandfathered in.

When all of this catches on, we can then begin partnering with local nurseries, farmers markets, CSAs, and the list goes on.

Let's make DRM serve a purpose.  Let's carve out a niche for Dreamcoin.  In my opinion, this would be an awesome one.  I realize not all of you would be thrilled about this specific niche, but it's something I know a lot about.  Not only can we do a lot of good, but if we do it well, the value of Dreamcoin will rise as well.  This will let each of you profit AND allow us the funding to help people replace even more lawns with food.  It can become a self-perpetuating cycle.

An X11 POS coin that isn't a pump and dump.  We don't need anonymity.  We don't need any of the buzzwords people use these days to pump their coins.  Because we will serve the greater good.  We will have a purpose.

What say you?

This is a great idea. I do disagree with 'we dont need anonymity.' We might not need it but it sure will add more appeal/luxury and added dimension to the coin. Look at all the anon coins out there. XC was selling at 1k satoshi until dev announced anon feature and now price is up to 100k (100X increase!). Sure anon feature might be a 'fad', which I dont believe it is, but it does not hurt to implement it. I understand you guys dont want to focus on the anon feature right now as you are still busy rebuilding, but in the future i believe it should be part of the plan.

125,000,00. (8 chars)= 12,500,000. (8 chars) (These are the same numbers.)

As for the POS there is POS in the source code it happens when POW phase is finished.

What do you have planned for the marketing around this altcoin?

It is already 1/3 of the POW, and only 10 pages in this thread, and has a very little hashrate :/
plans??  Tongue

yes, but it may take up to 30 days to see your first stake.
1% per year right?

It to0 hot and too hard to mined...
O h no...

Mining difficulty is okay now. Few multipools were onto GRN from day 1, they should have large amount of coins (also considering 10x blocks). Do not sell at the current cheap price ( buy if you can !).

Dont be bullied by people that want your TX codes or anything like that. If they will stop being lazy and check the block chain them selves they will fucking see that there have been 1100+ addresses that have had coins sent to them. Grow the fuck up guys.

i don't think using big fonts helps your statements  Grin

Out of curiosity, why was the first 50 blocks mined with gravitywell difficulty adjustment, rather than digishield?
i wonder too
