123  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Litecoin Is NOT Dead (It Is Just Dying A Slow Death) on: June 26, 2014, 11:56:00 PM
Ltc has issues since asics....

what is its use case v btc.

The only possible argument is it may have a better distribution that BTC, because of GPU's.....and perhaps algo back up.

Beyond that....what.

This is why I hold peercoin as well, it has a clear use case that no other coin has even attempted. Its sort of like trying to explain crypto to fiats, explaining peercoin to BTC/Alts. The problem is most people can't get thier head around where the real money is in the economy and its not in retail that most clamor for.....eg my Amazon/ebay/paypal

That said I still cant bring myself to part with a single LTC.

Lips sealed litecoin "dying".... i dont know any alt coins that aren't "dying" to be honest.

132  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: [GUIDE] GridSeed GC3355 5 Chip Setup/power/windows/linux/rpi by UnicornHasher on: June 23, 2014, 02:43:43 AM
can someone help me finding a guide on how to run 2 instances of cgminer and determine which one runs the gridseed minis and which one runs the blades?

will even tip if I have to, other threads not being any help

Are you using Windows, Linux, ... ? Typically you would just start it the way you normally do, just use different config files for each instance, and specify your devices.

On Linux its something like this:

"usb": "1:5,1:6,1:7"

where 1:5 etc is bus:device number. Use "lsusb" command to find these numbers.

On Windows it might be tricky because cgminer tends to need hotplug but normally devices keep the same port number so it could still work. Use Device Manager to find COM port numbers.
i will try this out Smiley thank you so much!!

I really appreciate this, I've been looking around for quite a while, props to you suchmoon!

if we can get into cryptsy ,then nyc will get popular. i think next week nyc is in swisscex
that is not exactly how it works
135  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: [GUIDE] GridSeed Blade (80 Chip) Miner Support/Tuning on: June 21, 2014, 04:50:48 AM
is it possible to run blades and mini from same cgminer?
Yes, but it is a pain to setup and not recommended.  It's much easier to have them in separate windows.

Any chance you know of a guide to do this ? I have given up after all my searching throughout the days, bit worn out Sad

No, I don't sorry.  I only run blades, but I've read elsewhere that it can be done but it is more trouble than it's worth.
This thread may be helpful.  https://forum.give-me-coins.com/discussion/634/mining-litecoin-with-different-gpus/p1
Why don't you run two instances?
still trying to find a guide for that. I don't know the .conf commands needed to force which units run on which instance

138  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Please Help Me -DogeCoin on: June 20, 2014, 04:40:37 AM
It is not really a good idea to mine with laptop as you can get it overheated easily.

You may buy a scrypt ASIC if you really want to mine some scrypt coins.

he is right, it will also cost you money to mine. you would have more coins by spending the electricity cost on just buying the coins
139  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Why Doge coin is bad on: June 20, 2014, 03:11:02 AM
Dear, Doge Fanboys and cheerleaders,

Your crappy shitcoin is nothing but a crappy clone of any one of the 100's of other scrypt clones
with an icon as it's only unique feature and redeeming quality.. which is just a picture some guy found online and used.
The dev / douche aka: coin cloner, could not even be bothered to create a new meme.jpg for his Coingen coin lol

i hope anyone supporting this coin gets cleaned out and loses all their money bad !

Doge coin is a scammy crap clone coin that is damaging to Bitcoin and the entire Altcoin scene.
When major news outlets online report on Bitcoin news and they start including news about Doge
it make Bitcoin look bad.. i can see clearly people who are not even in crypto are disgusted by this crap scam coin.
Never mind the guys like me who have been at it for a while and watched many other shitcoins like this come and go..

The only reason it has gotten popular is because noobs that showed up late to the Altcoin game
decided they would FLASH MINE this coin.. greedy stupid noobs are the problem and i kinda wish Bitcoin never exploded in popularity sometimes.

The intelligence level of Doge supporters is at best.. retarded.
They are too stupid to realize that their support of Doge and their damaging antics are undermining the very thing giving their shit coin any value at all.
Which is the ability to dump the shit coin for a REAL currency such as Bitcoin.. you make Bitcoin look bad by shouting Doge all over the web..
while making Bitcoin look bad while in turn making Doge look bad and worth less.. your smart guys lol

I just feel sorry for all the dev's out there that had gone to great lengths to create and support a REAL honest alternative to Bitcoin.
The lime light is stolen from them at every turn because of mouthy retard noobs screeching Doge and Much yes 'tard crap..

And yes it is in fact possible to trade and mine a coin AND not support it and make money of it..
after all you might as well if the stupid dumpy scamcoin exchanges are going to add the coin then ya go for it ..might as well make a few $$ with it.
BUT
You don't have to run around like a moron across the web screaming Doge every chance you get trying to lure new people into a ponzi scheme.

Never mind the long term implications of this clone coin crap.. you idiots are doing REAL supporters a dis-service
and i am going to make sure your shitty little scam coin goes nowhere by pointing to the new people how utterly scammy and useless Doge coin is.

My advice to new users is do a bit of research and find one of the other alternative crypto-currencies to get involved with
that offer something unique and have a real dev team with a real road map of goals.. just look for them there are many.

Hi, you must be new.
Every alt coin is garbage.
