Is there any feedback at all? This thread is from May, I am curious about previous orders, I am interested.
82  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: ROCKMINER ASIC miner official thread on: July 21, 2014, 07:49:56 AM
Even the miners listed on Rockminers R100 website (rockhash.com) dont show any run times over 14hrs.
Best I've seen with mine was 16hrs but 1-4hrs is more common.

This stability issue seems to be affecting RK,R3 for sure and probably R4..

Reboot is not big problem, most important thing is hashrate and hashrate!!
Reboot happened for temperature adaptive and only need seconds.

What exactly do you mean temperature adaptive?

For example, I have some extra 120mm fans pointing in direction with airflow, a 140mm as exhaust, multiple heatsinks added extra around the miners and even fans to my RPI Tongue

The Rock OS will reboot randomly/constantly yet my Raspbian OS can run for 24hrs+ no reboots

I've been searching a bit, there is no way to set a minimum worker difficulty?
84  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: ROCKMINER ASIC miner official thread on: July 21, 2014, 03:15:50 AM
My RK-Box miner made it up to about 35 hours but my Rockweb/R-Pi seems to have rebooted about 30 mins ago

Nice. So far mine is at 20 hours. This is just on RPI/Raspbian

tarmi , I want try this, the problem I am thinking is the microsd to sd convertor, for some reason I feel the microsd is melting inside of the convertor  Grin It's silly but when I swap to regular sd card the issue disappears.

Curious, what type of hubs are you fellows using? Would be great if you could amazon link some of them so we can all compare.

What FREQ are you running?

Also, I have noticed micro-SD cards to be very buggy when used in Arduino, R-Pi, 3d Printers (ATMega board) and other small electronics

300MHz

I am going to do 320MHz again after a 36hour run. I've noticed the loss of hashrate is made up by the way lower HW/Rejects. It fluctuates from 444-475gh/s.

All I wanted was RPI running since Rock WEBUI has habit of rebooting and I don't know why  Huh

I see why now, the 100 is to move the decimals over.

I was just doing HW ERRORS / A+R

Actually have set mine to 300MHz. I'm not sure if the 10~20gh/s I'm gaining on 320MHz is worth the HW errors. I'm <2% as of a few hours uptime.

I've been trying to use RPI/Raspbian/Cgminer to run the rockminer.

One SD card just gives me the errors mentioned above, the other SD card only happens to one of the blades ever so often

LIR 0: No valid hashes for over 10 secs, attempting to reset
 [2014-07-20 04:35:24] LIR 0 attempted reset got err:(0) LIBUSB_SUCCESS

I'd rather have one blade hang up and restart in cgminer then the complete OS restart at this point.. When I have some time I'm going to test on a spare computer with Linux on a harddrive / usbdrive to see if it's just the RPI or SD card thats giving me issues.
88  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: ROCKMINER ASIC miner official thread on: July 20, 2014, 02:56:15 AM
I've got a Rk-Box, and I wanted to make sure I have done all the tricks. I have never gotten it below 10% error rates. It seems other people have higher hash rates than I do, and that's kinda frustrating. I've used rockminer's cgminer and tried their raspberry pi image, changed around frequencies, and I even replaced their USB hub with my own (no difference).  Here's what I get:

300M Freq: 456 Gh/s, 11-12% error for ~405 Gh/s poolside
320M Freq: 478 Gh/s, 17-20% error for ~395 Gh/s poolside
350M Freq: 475 Gh/s, ~14% error for ~405 Gh/s poolside

I've played with it for a week now, and haven't gotten better. Anybody with better specs have any additional tricks? Or did I just get a poorly performing box?

What Firmware are you running? If you are on the most recent, you should be seeing less than 5% rejects and ~475 Gh/s avg.

My RK-Box R-Pi seems to be rebooting daily as well. The timer was up to about 16 hours last night...back down to 5+ hours this morning  Undecided
Well ive been running mine for about 14hrs and I worked out hardware rate to be around 16%.
Formula I used was 100 x HW /Accepted shares. It seems to be averaging 460 - 480GHs with the 320 setting.
How do I check which firmware the RK box is. Ive got it connected directly to pc and not using a pi at all.
Any help would be appreciated.

I'm not sure how to check firmware on windows. I was under the impression firmware is only for raspberry pi linux using the WebUI.

Why did you do 100 x HW in your formula?

Let me know how you make out.

Funny thing... I've switched raspberry pi's and now all I keep getting is failure comm errors on this new RPI Sad Boards go zombie then they kick back in on cgminer.

89  Bitcoin / Mining speculation / Re: RockMiner Rocket box vs Antminer S3 on: July 20, 2014, 02:04:57 AM
wait..wait.. so you say if i am purchasing S3 right now, my S3 will ship next week?
and if i buy R3, they ship to me right now?
is S3 a kind of pre-order? how about i purchase S3 after it is ready stock?

When you purchase after it's already stock you will still be waiting a week, unless you fork over the expedited shipping costs Smiley
so a week is time to wait for shipping?
what is fork over anyway? i paid more BTC/$ to make my shipping to quicker one?

No, I'm giving you rough estimates.

I am sure you have ordered things before and understand how shipments work.

This is not a 1LB box, nor is it a small package. You are looking at a lot of money if you want to pay expedited shipping for units like this, that is of course, IF they over expedited shipping.

Expedited shipping for these things isn't $20 Tongue
90  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: ROCKMINER ASIC miner official thread on: July 20, 2014, 02:02:25 AM
New record! 21hrs 31min 24hrs without reboot on RK box. That's a first for me.
Didn't last long, rebooted
I am going to break 24hours using RPI with Raspbian.

I'd rather have a cgminer running constant than Rock WebUI restarting constantly  Grin

Hopefully they can update the OS and stabilize it. People would appreciate it greatly.

Price lowered

100,00 € (~) + shipping

Quantity discount possible

Are these the same zeusminer blizzards that are sold on zoomhash for $60.00 USD new?

Yes, but this one are still at the EU. So the shipping is cheaper and you don't have to pay tax.

Ok nevermind I was confused. I thought it was different because you are selling these unit for $135 USD when they are brand new for $60 USD on the website Tongue
GL with sale!
92  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: ROCKMINER ASIC miner official thread on: July 19, 2014, 05:19:48 AM
do you ship in china? or any South East Asia?
I am almost positive they ship worldwide. I would check out official website for further info

If any of you can reference a solid guide to building cgminer on raspbian/debian/ubuntu so some of us can avoid rockweb that would be amazing.

My rockminer too does not seem to pass 14hrs, I would just rather run it on my other RPI and add a seperate screen for the Rock miners so I can monitor the HW better and use frequencies in between

Question

With GPU and smaller asic it is easier to create a rule of thumb for measuring HW error. In the case where NO HW is impossible, how can we do this with the rockminer?
2 HW per second? 5 per second? 10 per second?

If the poolside hashrate is showing 500gh/s+ and you are having ~3% rejection rate but 15 HW error per second
vs
poolside showing 490gh/s+ ~3% rejection and 10 HW per second..

How can we determine what the acceptable amount of HW is?
96  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: [Guide] Dogie's Comprehensive RockMiner R3-Box Setup [HD] on: July 18, 2014, 08:33:19 PM
Any chance you will add a LINUX CGMINER COMPILE to this guide?

Do you mean raspbian based?

Yes, or just a simple linux whether arch/debian/ubuntu, that provides a solid miner in which there aren't issues following the instructions Sad

I've tried configuring others through compile and I end up with icarus options not being enabled. I am sure there is many people who would prefer their own raspbi running whatever they want instead of forcing rock's webui to take over one pi

If anyone who was able to compile cgminer on RPI could post some info that would be great. I'm having issues with all versions I try! Some are autoconf/configure errors, others just dont seem to compile proper Sad

rockxie , is there a chance we can custom set the frequency on the rockweb? That way we can use 310 or something in between the 300/325/350?

I wanted to get cgminer on my other RPI so I could try and see the HW errors/reject compared to rockweb, the accepts/rejects is not enough to babysit these units when testing!  Grin

99  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: ROCKMINER ASIC miner official thread on: July 18, 2014, 07:39:59 AM
Sounds like a familiar problem "rebooting pi's"
Could you have just power the hub rockminer sent you?

Looks like a simple 5v barrel plug can be added to end of pcb. Slots are already there for a barrel plug if u don't mind soldering. It looks simple.
Note: I have not actually done this and this is only a possiblity. I am not responsible for anyone damaging yourself or equipement.

Looks like these type of barrel plugs:

https://www.amazon.com/dp/B00JR5AE0U/ref=cm_sw_r_udp_awd_T6yXtb16K0K6EA0E

Update: pi still restarts once a day, sometimes twice. It's so fast it doesn't really affect anything. The miner keeps mining, so I'm happy with that. Problably a paging problem with software that needs some kind of "sudo nano reboot" command or something
Were you able to solve the rebooting Pi?

Any chance you can post your cgminer.conf or any guides you used regarding the rockminer box ?
I don't do anything fancy:
cgminer.exe --icarus-options 115200:1:1 -o <pool> -u <user> -p <pw> --rock-freq 320

Ah, okay, I was hoping you had a cgminer.conf version Cheesy I run from .conf
100  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: ROCKMINER ASIC miner official thread on: July 18, 2014, 06:14:05 AM
Is anyone currently running a R3?

I'm curious what kind of hardware error rates you're seeing. The only few screen shots I've seen show about 10%+ hardware error rate, which I think its a lot..

I was running using the rockminer os and seeing 500gh/s+ ~500~550w ~6% reject rate. Pool was showing same hashrate

I need to compile the cgminer on another RPI and see the actual stats on the cgminer, also seems after a few hours the rockminer os crashes or the RPI freezes. I really need to figure this one out, not good to see 0 hashrate  Grin

I'm a lot happier after installing CGminer 4.4.2. I know have my Rbox and my RK-Box running at 320Mhz. The miners seem to be hashing at much higher rates and very stable. I'll update this post later when it's been running for a few hours.

Any chance you can post your cgminer.conf or any guides you used regarding the rockminer box ?
