Thanks for advice, I'll try it when i get home - anything decreasing my current 50% orphan rate is good. I'll check antivirus settings as well
562  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: IOTA on: July 19, 2017, 09:36:33 AM
you need to take amount of coins mined today, not final supply if you want to compare price. also there are lots of bitcouns lost or taken off the market indefinitely by long term investors. BTC is much more mature and widely distributed compared to iota. this can't be sped up, it will take years
563  Economy / Economics / Re: Is the economy situation in your country that bad? on: July 18, 2017, 08:15:52 PM
It seems there are bad news all around with doom and gloom. Trade figures going down, jobs cuts, security situation not going well, and bad loans.

Is the economy situation in your country that dismal? Or this is just some fear mongering?

The economy in my country is not growing compared to other countries in the world. Especially in the countryside where I live. The people here are very hard, earning money very hard. Daily only 50,000 VND. Life does not grow. So I came to bitcoin to change my life.
but according to world bank, Vietnam is undergoing rapid growth http://data.worldbank.org/country/vietnam

73% of blocks are now marked with an "exotic" version ...
..and the price doesn't seem to care at all  Smiley
565  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Best coin to invest aside from Bitcoin on: July 18, 2017, 07:34:16 PM
I really want to invest in cryptocurrency, but i think btc price is so high for me. I want to invest in a coin that is stable but with a much lower price. I mean super low, so that i will profit in the years to come. Im new in learning crypto so i hope someone will give me an advice. Thanks a lot.
Anyone has own opinion and can be right or wrong - only time will tell. You should make your own research,
Just dont invest money you can't afford to lose or you can need them soon. avoid inflationary, pumped or massively premined centralized coins, and over time you will likely be in profit. it can take years.

many ICOs are also problematic, lots of scams there and its not easy to pick genuine and worthwhile project

+ bitcoin looks expensive, but its very easy to buy small fraction of it

Anyone getting more orphans recently?. yesterday i mined 6 ORBs, but 3 were orphaned :|
This is a bad quote. But why?
I dont know, can it be because site updates list once a day and its in the time when im offline? or am i doing something wrong Huh
as for orphans from PoS, i dont know how to avoid it, but today again, out of 2 mined,  1orb is ok, second was orphaned Sad
567  Economy / Speculation / Re: Wall Observer BTC/USD - Bitcoin price movement tracking & discussion on: July 18, 2017, 05:00:28 PM
gold price can be heavily manipulated.
1.)central banks are holding 10 times world's yearly production. They can release reserves when gold is expensive and refill when its cheap. they can manipulate price through futures markets as well.
2.)miners can increase/ decrease production accordingly as well
3.)total amount of gold produced (and relatively quickly available for sale) is still rising, and only very little is lost or used for industry

Hi Guys,
I'm trying top mine orbitcoin and tried registering with both pools mentioned in the op, but they don't send out verification emails , so no go there. The wallet is still syncing.

Did I miss something?
Please advise.
TIA
syncing takes many hours to couple of days, same as with other coins clients. Dont forget Orbitcoin is more than 3 years old, so you need to download many blocks to catch up

Any interest in having an Orbitcoin blockchain asset trading card made for Spells of Genesis / Moonga / Counterparty?
its first time i hear about this game, but  it looks interesting

573  Economy / Speculation / Re: Wall Observer BTC/USD - Bitcoin price movement tracking & discussion on: July 17, 2017, 08:15:38 AM
Weak hands and gamblers shaken out! Lovely.

I have been panic buying all the way down. Cool
yeah very nice I got 1855 filled twice yesterday Smiley I hoped for 1755, but 18xx was good enough. we may still get a chance to buy lower again, august is still 2 weeks away and  volatility can be high. There is lots of FUD spreading everywhere, and big media still didnt make much coverage about Aug yet.

Thanks whales and panic sellers for the cheap coins :p
574  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: The real crash starts after Aug 1st on: July 16, 2017, 09:09:44 AM
Whales will accumulate more only if they are able to keep price down long enough, at least until order books are filled with enough cheaper coins.
But if they are dumping  only with accumulating more BTCs in mind, it can turn against them. Not everyone selling will be able to buy all back below his selling price.
And if one whale big enough decides there is enough cheap bitcoins listed on orderbook, it can clear buy it all fast, and others will have to buy higher.

I would love it if they push it to 1000-1500 range so i can buy a lot, but i dont think it will be that easy to buy near the bottom
575  Economy / Speculation / Re: Wall Observer BTC/USD - Bitcoin price movement tracking & discussion on: July 15, 2017, 09:45:53 PM
cgt99> thats a nice cow Cheesy

Are you dumping silver for cheaper BTC rebuy ?

What kind of fool would do that?  Silver is at cost of production or even below it for some miners.  Silver is a far better buy than BTC.  Next metals bull run will probably be gold $3000-3200, silver $90-120.  If there's some type of big economic event or lots of printing, gold $5000-ish, silver $166-$200.  If they're forced to revalue gold entirely in one act, gold will be set to $10-20k and silver will be astronomical.
and now imagine the price of bitcoin, if such  inflationary assets like metals reach $5-10k
576  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Are there people here from 2013 who are not millionaires now? on: July 15, 2017, 09:36:54 PM
Im curious but when did this forum open?  Also when did lot of people spoke a lot about bitcoin on the forums like now?
according to forum stats page it looks like it was in November 2009
