Updating the Dimecoin client  Cheesy. Anyone want to test the source when Im finished?
sure, what're the changes? honestly, i think its such a drag to keep mining coins because of their unprofitability with electric bill and all, add the fact that its summer. cant we just fork the coin and cut the supply?(lesser total the more value). provably switch to pos..again for electric bill's sake
OOH! I didnt think of that. Of course, I dont think too many of the whales would like to lose coins. But POS would be awesome. As for the changes, I just changed the logos, also working out that nasty connection bug.
824  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / GitHub. Can someone PLEASE point me in the right direction? on: April 04, 2014, 07:56:56 PM
I need to find out where exactly the wallet connects to nodes in the repo. I cannot for the life of me get the Dimecoin client to sync by itself. You have to manually add nodes. I would really like to fix this in my update. Can somebody please help? I just need to find out where this is. (im not the original dev. Im still trying to find my way around this wallet business.)

@dimelord, can you confirm a block explorer is needed and if there is anything we can salvage from an ongoing or old development ?
Yes, we need a block explorer. Nadadenada took down the one that he had.

829  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Interesting Linux Observations (wine) Any thoughts? on: April 03, 2014, 08:34:32 PM
So I have been running the Dimecoin client (win) using Wine becuse I am too lazy to build it from source. I recently started having problems with the wallet crashing after only running for a short period of time. Now it will only stay open for about 15 seconds. Any Ideas on why this is happening so I can fix it in the long overdue client update? Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Ok how can I help?

I`ve done couple of web pages looong looong time ago.

I think the most urgent thing is to get the client updated. It has some bugs that need ironing out. Can you fish around for a dev that might be interested in helping and then point him to me?

Fear.

Yet another sign we are near the bottom of this bubble collapse cycle. As for me, I am going to stuff some more fiat bills into my local Robocoin ATM today.

So basically it`s only one person trying to get most of the job done?

Reading through this tread and the other one it looked like there was more people involved
I don`t know that`s why I`m asking...

I don`t know how to run a node or build un explorer otherwise i would be more then happy to do that .

I wish you all the best  Smiley

It didnt start out that way, but all of my original team has been silent. I took over this coin after the first dev left without paying the people who helped him out. I had about 6 or 7 people. Now its just me and lemfuture really. Sorry for my little rant. I just get frustrated at all the people who complain, but aren't willing to help. This coin has so much potential, due to it's SHA-3 platform. Simple, secure and ASIC resistant. Im actually working out a deal with a guy who is opening a BTC LTC DIME fiat exchange. Hold your coins man. We are going to be big. You wont regret it.
837  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] DIMEcoin l community take over l updated everyday on: April 03, 2014, 06:25:36 PM
Wait for what? Huh

I`m looking at the development of this coin but nothing is happening...

The block explorer isn`t working...

New website is needed but its been postponed for some time, right now it`s 2-3 pages of copy paste text uploaded at google....

I`m willing to help at any kind I can  but imho I think we need to put this coin to rest and move to the something else

Love your optimism... Im not leaving this coin yet. I have too much invested. New website coming anyway. My main priority is the Block Explorer and Android wallet. Instead of whining about slow development, why dont you contribute somehow. Run a Dimecoin node. Build us a nice block explorer. Heck, throw a tweet or two out there. Im only one person. lemfuture is only one person. We have lots of sayers, but not a lot of doers... Cheers  Smiley

839  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Linux cpu scrypt miner? on: April 03, 2014, 01:00:08 AM
I have scoured the bowels of the internet trying to find this, but I have come to naught. If somebody can point me to this elusive piece of software, I will send you 10,000 DIME.

U mean source of scrypt miner ?

EDIT : Linux Binaries : http://sourceforge.net/projects/cpuminer/files/pooler-cpuminer-2.3.3-linux-x86_64.tar.gz

Source : https://github.com/pooler/cpuminer.git

But seriously mining with http://sourceforge.net/projects/philosopherstone/files/QRK/ gives a better hashrate in win for scrypt.
Thanks Grin You have a DIME address?
