1781  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bulgaria Big On Bitcoin As Reserves Could Exceed Its Gold Stash on: July 25, 2019, 04:42:19 PM
Damn, I didn't knew that some countries actually investing in Bitcoins. And 200 000 Bitcoin is huge number, we can call Bulgaria as whales.

Nobody has invested in anything.
It's all related to the 2017 seizure of 200k coins.
https://www.coindesk.com/bulgarian-government-sitting-3-billion-bitcoin

Reheated soup, poor journalism and ...let's see in what mess this thread turns out.

And this article tells that the coins were sold in 2018: https://bitcoinist.com/bulgaria-not-bitcoin-1-6b-finance-minister/

And it 2017 authorities said that they didn't seize any coins: https://emerging-europe.com/news/bulgarias-bitcoin-mystery/

And some suspect that it's a misunderstanding, that comma might have been a decimal separator, so Bulgaria seized only 200 Bitcoins: https://news.bitstarz.com/whats-the-story-behind-bulgarias-missing-bitcoins

Not gonna lie, that some kind of ridiculous misunderstanding right there. 200k itself is kinda sketchy considering the huge amount itself almost 1% of the total supply and no one bats an eye for a long time and observe further into the use of that money and how is the auction. Not to mention that the country will be bathing with money if that's true since that means they get their reserve doubled by auctioning the bitcoins.
1782  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: BUYBACK TOKENS SOLVES DUMPING on: July 25, 2019, 03:53:46 PM
Only works if there is limitation in the amount of the tokens will be bought back and the price is not above ICO otherwise the project will eventually runs out of money to fund their project thus no progression.
There are few projects that I've seen using this method and when the buy back mechanism available to their investors the funds prepared is vanished in an instant when the market is bearish. It seems that this mechanism also will hold back the growth of the project because it does takes a lot of resources.
1783  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Am i losing the whole 2500 USD? Blockchain wallet... on: July 24, 2019, 11:19:08 PM
The only way is to contact support, there's no such thing as minus balance in cryptocurrency if there's any it definitely that wallet provider's fault.

Red-Apple. I had 2500 USD that I swapped to PAX. The ETH balance should be ZERO instead -2500 USD. I need .02USD in ETH to Swap or send the PAX.

I think it is a bug or something from their system. I am just worried if their support will respond. Still waiting..
Their support will still reply, but kind of slow I guess. Maybe, if you want you can just spread this complaint across the internet, maybe that will catch their attention.
1784  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Exchanges that would list your coin for free or a very small fee? on: July 24, 2019, 11:13:13 PM
It is okay to get listed in an exchange with relatively low volume than nothing. But, just don't get listed into shitty exchanges like yobit or some kind they'd just bring bad image to your coin. Maybe you should try idex if your coin is ERC20. Otherwise, try to find a relatively new exchanges they tend to look for new coins to get listed.
1785  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Your opinions on IEOs on: July 21, 2019, 04:26:40 PM
I know IEOs are just a phase and may be replaced soon will h another format. Ico was population about 2-3 years back. Cure most exchanges hold IEO with some making gains while some makes loss. Not all IEO are successful. Those successful are crazily nipped up on the day of trading.
Well IEO is the more secured version of ICO, it is just feels more legit because it has reviewed by exchanges and guaranteed to be listed on exchanges immediately after IEO finished, while technology is indeed always developing, I don't think this one could be replaced by new format easily because it just already solve the problem needed to solve which is safety and security.
1786  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Be careful of alts you hodl on: July 21, 2019, 03:50:46 PM
I was just looking at the coinmarketcap table since 2013, I was surprised in what I saw, many coins topping the charts then are now almost non-existent, we need to be careful of the kind of coins we hodl especially for long term. Most of these projects just die after the initial hype.

2013 is a developing year for the Cryptocurrency, it is in its infancy and some of these are a clone of Bitcoin that cannot generate support from the community because there are too many coins coming in the market, the source code is open anyone can create their own coin.
Also to note that the market capitalization is relatively low compared to now that's why the changing of position between the alts top ranks are very common although the code for bitcoin is open source but most of the time they are just cloning bitcoin with different name.
1787  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: IEOs are more safe. But there are still problems that must be solved. on: July 21, 2019, 09:32:29 AM
Buying the tokens on exchanges seems to be more safe than buying them on ICOs websites.
But there are still some problems:
1. Using IEOs instead of ICOs, we are adding a 3rd party than can control what we buy. This is in contradiction with the main purpose of cryotocurrencies which is centralization (edit: decentralization)
2. The big bonuses that big investors are still giving buying the tokens directly from the team and cause big price decrease
3. KYC that is still implementing. The only thing that has changed is that we are giving our documents to the exchange instead of the team ( In my opinion KYC should be completely eliminated or a new safe method which I have no idea about that should be implemented)
4. Exchanges might get money and do not pay attention to healthy of the project like what they do for listing the tokens

What do you guys think?
What should be done to have safer fundraising? Assume that you are making some rules. Just try to preserve the decentralization as much as possible.
I don't think you are controlled to what you able to buy, you can take it or leave it just like ICO, if talking about how the money gathered ICO also gathering your money in centralized way. The KYC is a must for the project or exchanges to survive, it is required by the government and if not you will be in huge problem since the main purpose is to prevent money laundering. Imagine an exchange oppose the idea of KYC they will be suspected for money laundering practice in an instant.
1788  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Exchanges to be careful about IEO listing. on: July 21, 2019, 08:07:56 AM
Exchangers should be careful with IEO. don't let them get the wrong way to look for the project they will launch in their exchanger because this will determine their exchange name will be better or worse.
I think the exchange already has its own rules and requirements for the launchpad project on their platform. if they are careless about choosing a project scam, then it will affect the viewpoint of investors and traders in their exchange.
Some exchanges are made just to make some IEO or just making instant money and they don't care about their reputation, but when it comes to big exchanges which already has a really big name they sure have to review any IEO applications, that's why a big exchange like binance only have once in a month.
1789  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: BTC Dominance on CoinMarketCap on: July 20, 2019, 11:13:07 PM
For two years in the cryptocurrency, I have seen bitcoin fall below 50% dominance. But even then, he remained a leader in the cryptocurrency market. Dominance is not enough to shift bitcoin from its leadership position.
30% dominance will make bitcoin a leader as long there's no coin with greater dominance and now it is 50% obvious that none of other altcoins will take its position if the dominance is even lower then when bitcoin only has 30%.
CMC might list Libra too eventually. If they have like $5 billion of it in reserve, that's directly the market cap and it will lower Bitcoin's market cap dominance instantly.

Facebook is having a market cap of $566 billion right now and they have cash reserves in tens of billions of USD. I won't be surprised if FB pumps $50 billion in to Libra initially. But it is debatable whether CMC would include Libra as one of the cryptocurrencies in its list or not. CMC lists centralized cryptocurrencies such as XRP, so ideally Libra should be able to list itself there. But then, given its hostility towards the current cryptocurrency ecosystem and the real intention, my prediction is that CMC would not consider Libra as a cryptocurrency. Just because Libra has the form of a cryptocurrency, we can't conclude that it is a currency like BTC and ETH, and is different from fiat currencies such as USD and CNY.
I think they will, you see there's USDT and many stablecoin they still get listed on coinmarketcap so Libra being listed there has huge possibility.
1790  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Trump’s Tweets Causes Cryptocurency Price To Tumble on: July 20, 2019, 11:04:46 PM
I don't think Trump's tweets were the cause of the drop in the prices of most cryptocurrencies. The nature of the crypto market has no specific cause for either the drop or the raise of the prices of most cryptocurrencies. The market had been like that even before Trump thought of making a tweet  about cryptocurrencies.  The market is not really  influenced by such speculations and FUDs..
Although you may be true but so many media there making articles about how trump's tweet affect crypto, we are talking about trump the US president here, the regulation or opinion he released to public may spread to the world and could become a problem for crypto, even a little, it did affect the whole crypto.
1791  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Hardcap ICO is no guarantee that the project will succeed on: July 20, 2019, 04:36:47 PM
I do not like ICOs that collect hard cap. Because all investors that are interested in the project invested already and after an exchange listing noone is buying tokens = huge dump.
if the project is good and their ICO sales are limited. maybe more people will be interested in waiting for coins when they are listed on the market. I also sometimes wait for such moments.
Most of IEO right now are having such limited amount of token while demand is high, that's why everytime they got listed they tend to skyrocket even though the initial price is already profiting. Hardcap with ridiculous amount of money in my opinion will only bring disaster simply because they demand more money than what they deserve most of the time.
1792  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Your opinions on IEOs on: July 20, 2019, 03:59:31 PM
I believe that the IEO topic is becoming irrelevant - at first, yes, the projects gave great profit, but if you look at the latest projects - it is very hard to get and there is almost no profit (even losses) - people will soon stop participating. Better to return the ICO format!

Considering what happened with ICOs and lack of the interest in investing in them, I don't think it's a good idea. I still think that IEO is better than ICO however there are still lots of problems. Instead of returing to the old format, creating a new format might be necessary.

yes, that is the consideration that I have made now, in my opinion the IEO is a new breakthrough for investment other than ICO, honestly the reason I switched investment with the IEO is because the IEO has provided benefits to me and has covered my losses when investing in ICO. ICO has made me lose, many of them are fraudulent and this is a fact.
Many of them are fraudulent because they don't undergo review like what most of IEO project did, kinda makes sense because so many incompetent people are trying their fortune there aswell, but doesn't hinder the fact that there are some of them that are as legit as IEO but still IEO just guarantee more safety.
1793  Economy / Speculation / Re: Libras impact on bitcoin price on: July 18, 2019, 04:02:26 PM
I got a feeling that all that hype from Libra impacted on the gains of bitcoin price. Is the slump this week weighted on the bad media comments about Libra?

We can also consider that, the time Libra was announce, Bitcoin pump and reaches a good price, now that it was criticized, Bitcoin also fall.
However, I don't think Libra will be stop here, they will comply with the requirement of the regulators then they will launch, maybe there are some unexpected delays but I'm sure they will launch successfully in time.
The publication that bitcoin receives because of libra is what hyped up the whole community. we can't deny that fact because people and media are always talking about libra and making people curous about cryptocurrency even so many cryptocurrency website are talking about this as one of reasons as to why bitcoin is on bullish.
1794  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Exchanges to be careful about IEO listing. on: July 17, 2019, 11:23:57 PM
Currently IEO's are becoming pupular and providing a more reliable option for new projects than ICO's. Previously a lot of new projects started by raising funds via their ICO sites and because of unregulated nature of this avenue, a lot of scammers used the medium to swindle a lot of victims.

Now the story has changed as it only serious projects that would want to go through IEO's, we no longer would hold only the project body responsible for any IEO scam but the exchange, so any exchange that values its reputation and users should do a proper scrutiny about any project before accepting their IEO sales. For instance if an exchange fails multiple times with their IEO, it will drive attention away from them, that is why Binance still draws a lot of attentions because it has recorded more successful and profitable IEO's.

IEOs are great as it reduces the risks of fraud to the barest minimum but that doesn't mean you can't be scammed. I have seen cases of project developers eloping after IEO fund raisings or renegade on their roadmap promises. So you still have to do your own research before joining IEOs
That is why many people suggest that if you want to invest, of course choose a big exchange. Because if something like that happens (the developer runs away from the IEO proceeds) the exchange will be affected by fraud. So big exchanges certainly don't want that to happen, so they will look for really good projects to do the IEO at their exchange. And it must be remembered that all research, analysis, research are indeed important and mandatory to do if you want to invest.
Though following big exchange IEO doesn't guarantee you to not scammed since there's a few cases where the big exchange is scammed aswell by the IEO it is always better to look after the history of IEO that the exchange had hosted there, for example binance which already have some succesfull IEO or gate.io .
1795  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: How do you protect your digital coins? on: July 17, 2019, 05:09:20 PM
it looks like we all have keys, passphrases or even fingerprints. But it seems that it is not really safe. Lots of coins stolen every year, millions of dollars. I like to keep my money at Leger, I feel safe, I don't trust the internet, the browsers I'm using. The keys I wrote on the paper and put it in the safe. It is safe
There is always a hole, no system is truly safe and some people will always try to bait those who have crypto into their trap, that is to be expected but if people could increase their security that would be the best solution there is. There is no denying that keeping your funds offline or disconnected to the internet is the best way but there will eventually comes a time when you need the internet so you will forcefully tighten your security for that.
1796  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Why president Donald trump is not a fan of bitcoin? on: July 16, 2019, 04:07:19 PM
Maybe he hasn't read enough about the Blockchain and its benefits yet.
I guess he had read the understanding of blockchain and many things but we are talking about bitcoin here, Trump himself is an old man that usually against anything confronting his traditional idea while there is a new developed technology some people still lagging behind being denial about something new. It is like replacing the old tradition with a new one which elderly usually confront or against but that's just my 2 cents.
1797  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Trump's statement against cryptocurrency on: July 12, 2019, 03:13:15 PM
His tweet isn't wrong at all . He said " Unregulated Crypto Assets can facilitate unlawful behavior, including drug trade and other illegal activity" . I am agree with that, but he also forget if vas majority of criminal transaction are done in fiat
Most of people just dont know that blockchain itself is among the most teansparent system out there because it is recorded since the emergence until now, if every btc addresses were to be changed to the owner's name we can trace down all of people's transaction and they are still thinking fiat is less anonymous than bitcoin smh.
1798  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: IPHONE & ANDROID USERS NEEDS TO BE EXTREMELY CAREFULL on: July 12, 2019, 03:08:05 PM
I don't know why some people feel it is advisable to use their mobile phone for keeping their Cryptos, Android OS in particular is very venerable to attacks and with the coming bull run more of these wallets will keep poping up on their popular stores just to steal people's money
I too sometimes think that using mobile to save crypto is abig NO, too much possibility of losing and could cause such a huge blunder. Even using raspberry is a lot safer because you will not carry it everywhere and lost it.
1799  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Altcoins Holders ,be calm on: July 10, 2019, 12:56:31 PM
BTC is continuing to pump very strongly, and that is the main reason why altcoin / BTC continued to fall sharply. My only worry is that altcoin is delist, if it happens, there really is no way to save that investment other than stop loss.
What is the delist from? the dominance of bitcoin on the market is still fairly reasonable. many are releasing altcoins for bitcoin and that is still reasonable, because they see a high pump from bitcoin. it won't make the altcoin lose its price. they will survive and grow when they arrive. be patient and just wait.
When the delist happens meaning the volume doesn't reach to what it is required to mantain the listing thus also means most of people already cashed out their money, if you happen to still hold it maybe you just missed the train.
1800  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Is BNB the Next Bitcoin? on: July 10, 2019, 12:44:51 PM
LOL, I also like bnb but you guys are praising the coin too much. It was designed to be a currency for the exchange itself. Another thing is that bnb is just dominating the market because the barrier towards adoption is still there. Imagine if the world with their reputable companies tarted to make their own exchange and their own coin. Binance coin will be easily forgotten.
Definitely, the sole reason of popularity the BNB gains is because it has function for the binance exchange there, it has the role. If one time binance faces some kind of problem there is a huge chance that this coin could turn into dust and to compare this coin to bitcoin is just not right.
