1401  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: The return of ICOs on: July 09, 2020, 01:51:26 AM

~
On the other hand, think that the ico can be very successful, as long as the costs of the initial coins are contained.

Are ICOs still a thing in 2020? I don't know why you think the ICO game can still be played. Even though new ICOs demand for even less funds, It'll be hard to get people to invest. Gone are the days when people fomo into token sales. I doubt we'll have such a time again with ICOs.

Also, If you take a quick look at the market, world economies etc, the overall sentiment isn't great. Even IEOs that are held on trusted exchanges find it difficult to sell out as they used to. If would be another boom in token sales, It definitely won't be with ICOs.

If you are feeling doubt about that and I can tell you something and what you need to do just visit this site https://icodrops.com/category/ended-ico/

I can even list some icos like solana, compound, DMM governance, 2keynetwork and many more that have been successfully getting a lot of demand for the crowd sale and these were giving a very nice return to the early investors too.
1402  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Is Etheruem Smart Contract Really Smart? on: July 09, 2020, 01:47:24 AM
Well, to me contract is the crux of the judicial system because legal case always involves to or more parties.

Contract is an agreement between two parties. For example , Kelvin agree to sell a house to Lydia @ $1000. That is traditional contract which is validated by a written agreement.

Smart contract is a technology that seek to remove the middle man(lawyers) from contract construction and execution and make computer to perform the function.

The key feature of a smart contract is trustless execution. That means, both parties of a contract are not trusted until they fulfill certain conditions.

Here is how this thread will go...

1. Is Etheruem smart contract really smart in reality and not in theory?

2. Who handle the execution of the smart contract ?

3. How does Centralized system or decentralized system affects the key feature of smart contract which is 'TRUSTLESS EXECUTION'?
1. it's not, as Ether smart contract is much more in theory rather than reality.

2. EVM was a virtual engine that was executing the contract.

I suggest you read some articles about why ethereum wanna try to migrate into the eWASM and leave the EVM.
1403  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: There is no ROI if the crypto is a stablecoin on: July 08, 2020, 01:09:41 AM
I look at stable coins more like fiat and they are likely to stick to whatever coin they are tied to it USDT never increase in value price so basically is a dollar in digital token You can sell your tokens and hold the USD equivalent but then you lose any gain the market make and is just Tether
I think you forget about if crypto will be stable coin. I guess what he means related to the when crypto used the dollar as the reserved funds to backed their value and that will remove the volatility.
that means the creation of value in crypto will be based on the fiat money.
1404  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Which is safer, USDT or Binance USD? on: July 08, 2020, 12:51:08 AM
The difference may only be the transparency of the backup. I think BUSD has been more transparent, but time will tell.
Both are not so transparent and I guess there was no a statement from both of projects were telling us about how much owned by them to backed the stable coin that already issued by them all. There was a lot of questions that are not yet answered
1405  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: What did you look out for before investing in an altcoin? on: July 07, 2020, 02:21:04 AM
in my opinion investing in altcoin that can give you profit is, investing in projects that are really active, like in social media, always updates the news, and always has a good roadmap, look at Coinmarketcal and you can see potential and good coins to buy
The important thing should be the product and whether how often the project updates his social media and that will not give a lot of impacts if there was no a rumour related to the product or development progress to be the reason for speculators to pump the price of token.
1406  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Spike on the News? on: July 07, 2020, 02:16:47 AM
I never heard about such rumour but AFAIK the small pump this day caused by this news https://news.bitcoin.com/bitcoin-kanye-west-running-for-president-2020-donald-trump-joe-biden/

Quote
n the cryptosphere, bitcoiners are happy that West may be running for president this year.

it looks like he was giving a good sentiment to the crypto especially for bitcoiners
1407  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: What is your opinion about HEX? on: July 05, 2020, 06:17:45 AM
I'm not sure about hex is actually scam or not. But its quite suspicious to me. I've heard a lots of reports against it. But some are telling that hex is good option for makes money and they are already done. But i avoid hex cause still i am unable to take proper decision about it
I guess the supporters will always be told you about that but you must try to see there are some accusations that have already made in the past and it can become a good point to determine how good the reputation of hex coin right now.
1408  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Beware of fake gold backed tokens on: July 04, 2020, 01:21:53 AM
Many gold backed project have gone under the bridge and investors investment gone wrong. There  is a particular project that was about 10trillion coin supply and that every of its coin was backed by gold, I believe the developers have ran away with investors fund.
that's a crap coin. I didn't even believe any gold projects have the real gold and those were only offering fake claim. I just put any gold project in my banned list as there must be a lot of processes to prove the reserved gold and that's not something that can be done instantly.
1409  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: What's your thoughts on DeFi fund losses? on: July 04, 2020, 01:19:31 AM
Few DeFi projects still lose money due to security hacks for each example balancer lost 500,000 worth of ETH to a hacker weeks ago, this shows that not all DeFi projects are capable of keep users funds safe, this is not the only problem I'm worried about, scammers have not even start building fake DeFi projects yet, maybe this DeFi story will end up like ICO hype of 2017? What's your thoughts on this?
The code that already used by defi is not fully audited by various parties. that's why to create a competition to find the vulnerability is a must or at least just try to hire some experts to do an audit to the code and platforms whether there was a vulnerability or not that can be used by scammer.
1410  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: What did you look out for before investing in an altcoin? on: July 03, 2020, 01:29:41 AM
Okay guys, hope we are all staying safe?

I felt I should get the opinion of some veteran traders here about investing in altcoins. What do you usually look out for before picking tokens for mid-term or long-term investment?

1. team behind the project?
2. type of blockchain?
3. real-world use-cases?
4. partnerships?
5. period of existence?
6. Stability of the token?
7. Just name them, anything you look out for

The main consideration must be the real world use case as the stability of the token price will be following the use case that is offered by the platform. In this case, I expect the demand will be following a good product with a lot of useful features.
1411  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Altcoin market speculation ?? on: July 03, 2020, 01:26:02 AM
precisely it the price of market can't prediction because we don't know what the next price and when it can rise again. no one can predict market prices in crypto and in the near future or a long time everything can change maybe in 6 hours will go down or up. sometimes many people predict but it doesn't happen according to what they say. this it is clear that market prices cannot be predicted.
If you were saying like that and there will be no a speculators or even traders in the market as they didn't know where the market is going on but this is a speculation market that everyone is feeling free to express what will be their prediction for the future of crypto currency
1412  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Todays Winners and Losers on: July 02, 2020, 12:57:48 AM
How about the number one on that screenshot which is Izeroium? It's a lower rank coin at rank 2162 in Coinmarketcap. I don't hold such coin and I just noticed that you just skipped it when you have mentioned the #2.
I just found out that there's not that much data for it.
It looks like the data that has already served by his site looks very different from the data that already served by another trusted MCAP site like CMC or coingecko. I can't trust this coin as mostly coins were mentioned by OP traded on the crap site.
1413  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Best altcoins for 2020? on: July 02, 2020, 12:54:09 AM
by 2020 ETH and BNB will become coins that are very well-liked by many investors because we can see for ourselves now that the volume of transactions continues to increase from time to time.
that's a common thing dude. It's better to choose which one from the medium coin can go to same level as binance or even ethereum in the future.
So many investors have been investing their money on binance and this is very known by our crypto community
1414  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Beware of fake gold backed tokens on: July 01, 2020, 07:22:15 AM
I have never been interested in tokens that say they are backed up with gold because in my opinion it is security and should get permission from the appropriate authorities. If we want to invest in gold, I think it's better to buy physical gold than just in the form of a portfolio because to avoid fraud and such
I also avoid tokens that are supported by gold, because in my opinion it's very risky, it's better to buy physical gold and store it in a safe place, better stay away from tokens that are supported by gold, so you don't lose money
As long as the company if fully audited and it can be trusted by the users but the problem is too many suspicious companies have not yet audited and that makes they have no transparency about how much gold they owned.

This will create a big question about the credibility of exchange site.
1415  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Service Discussion (Altcoins) / Re: Is This True or Scam? on: July 01, 2020, 07:21:15 AM
Once again I found a very suspicious airdrop. Participants are asked to send number of ethereum which will then get the amount 2x in 4-8 minutes.
Official group https://t.me/Civic_official

I was surprised when I saw this, did anyone join them here?
That's the same as the old airdrop that gives the participant about the responsibility to send their private key to be able to get the airdrop token. This is a scam and a trusted airdrop will be distributing your token to the wallet directly and it will never asked your money.
1416  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: DONT MARRY YOUR ALTCOIN BAGS on: June 30, 2020, 12:30:06 AM
altcoins are great for flipping for more btc but dont every marry a coin. When btc goes on a run past all time highs you dont want to be bagholding ALTS. You will watch them get crushed. I personally was bagholding alts from 4k-20K and they got demolished I even had friends saying man you must be doing well with those bitcoins you have Cheesy In the end alts went nuts and I did well but If I would have waited till BTC topped out I would have made more. So moral of the story there is dont marry a coin/project they and watch your btc shrink get in and get out after you make decent profits. Sure sometimes you can buy an alt an maybe 10x-100x on it bagholding, but there is 1000s of coins out there that wont make those type of gains. Anyway do whats best for you but dont be that guy married to a bag watching btc head to 50-100k or whatever the top might be

Agree, altcoin might be more profitable if we choose the right altcoin but altcoin is also more risky than Bitcoin. I think we should not be tied to a particular altcoin because altcoin prices are more volatile and maybe some can be a long-term investment but it should be given a portion of the investment that is not too much

altcoin is very dangerous when used as a long-term investment because altcoin price movements no one knows will go up or down, it's better to save a clear cryptocurrency asset like bitcoin for the long term is still very suitable, so stay alert when saving altcoin for long-term investment.
that's not true and what about those altcoins who have already placed at top 10CMC? don't they have a lot of potentials to be used as a long term investment? I wanna say if that's true for the crap coins but altcoins that have a massive partnership and the good product must be excluded.
1417  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: DO NOT TRUST TO TETHER on: June 30, 2020, 12:28:02 AM
how about other Stablecoin, tether are audited by regulator and managed by big company, i don't think you're argue is valid
Some people may not believe it again after tether has stated if they were not fully backed by the dollars. I know even some people were accusing this has a backdoor to frozen the user's amount.
This is more than a year i have been using tether and so far i never encounter any problem even i leave it on my cold wallet.
1418  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Most trusted projects ruined me !! on: June 27, 2020, 01:06:59 AM
That depends on the altcoin you hold, if you hold a coin/token that has a usecase
and the project is still running, this clearly has potential.
But if you hold shit coins from dead projects, like Mnx Coin.Forget it...
It is a futile waiting

What is your opinion on Waves? Altcoin is among top100 alt, have running product and Waves DEX is a popular place to trade. Devs are doing thing from time to time.
Despite all that I've already market this alt as a dead coin or bad investment. I've been holding Waves for more than 1 year, and during that time my invested 100 bucks now worth ~34.
The waves team has already involved in the scam project called coinomat and so many people have been accusing the team and the team didn't even give a short response to these accusations. Waves is totally a crap investment today.
1419  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: WazirX coin over the moon. on: June 27, 2020, 12:41:35 AM
We have big news! WRX is listed on Poloniex Wink
For WazirX exchange, this news isn't so exciting to me. WazirX coin supply is huge, although it has already started burning events. I'm very curious to know about ban crypto news. I'm waiting for the future because the WRX price is still stable.
As long as it can bring more and more good result from the development progress and especially for the adoption tot he Wazir exchange site and how much supply is not a big problem at all.
The price of wazirx token depends on the performance and the latest development progress from the exchange site.
1420  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: DeFi Projects on: June 26, 2020, 01:06:58 AM
It's really impressive how DeFi projects have huge volumes and market caps, it shows that big investors have interest in decentralized Finance more than other crypto currencies, no wonder MakerDAO has that huge value
They have already started to move one from the centralized finance to the decentralized finance as it was offering a better chance for them to get various advantages from the platform that has already created by the developers
The real journey if Defi is starting from here.
