21  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Trying to run windows OS through USB for mining on: February 05, 2021, 06:14:53 AM
Hi Im looking into running my windows OS on a usb drive to cut down power consumption since I'm running my miners on a inverter and backup battery most times so my question is how much usb drive space will I need? I know Linux OS are thinny and they can work on 8gb usb flash but what about windows 10 OS?
22  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: I have $6000 to start mining, what should I buy? on: February 04, 2021, 04:53:36 PM
Invest in DeFI, Or literally any good project. You'll never make your 6K back in time if you're just starting now. GPU, PSU, and other Hardware prices are through the roof. During Bullmarkets you DO NOT BUILD mining rigs. You buy the coin which will make you'll more money in a month than a mining rig will paying itself back. That's my personal opinion. I'm a big miner, but I started during the first bullmarket in 2017 and never stopped even during the bear market of 2018-20.

With ETH finally getting Phase 0 and moving to phase 1.5 in 2021/22 Personally the mining game's over now. On top of that ASIC on ETH that are insanely powerful are coming online this year.
I mine coins for profits and for the fun of it, now it's more than a hobby, it's still a good time to buy graphics card and mine if you can get at fair enough price target, my own target is 100 days of mining at this profit season and if bear market comes after I know that have already make back most of my invested cash back, the rest will be on fun mode hehehe
23  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: How does Polkadot crypto come to 7th position? is a scam? on: February 04, 2021, 02:59:01 PM
Polkadot is different, you can't earn top rank on coinmarketcap today with just hype only like in 2016-2017, if you watch bitconnect and Polkadot use cases side by side you will instantly notice the difference, Polkadot is huge and it's usefulness is what get it to the position
Getting on top rank on coinmarketcap is pretty hard but maintaining the position after several months or years is even harder, I hope Polkadot won't be like some altcoins that quickly rise up in rank and later lose the rank again, I can see the potential but I do hope it keeps things like that
24  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Ranks aren't permanent in crypto space on: February 04, 2021, 09:13:51 AM
So far only bitcoin and ethereum maintained their positions for many years now, the thing is apart from their use cases these two coins they have all the loves around the world, they are well supported compared to other crypto projects, more popular too so its going to be extremely difficult for any new project to overtake them
25  Economy / Economics / Re: Bitcoin to trigger central bank collapse on: February 03, 2021, 12:38:03 PM
Saying central banks will collapse sounds like saying the government will vanish off the face of the earth, that's impossible, there is nothing wrong with the existence of bitcoin and also the existence of central bank, one shouldn't stop one from working, also I don't see any threat with bitcoin and crypto, even many centralized projects exits in crypto space today, they aren't collapsing, stop dreaming
26  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Improve hashing performance on nvidia cards on: February 03, 2021, 12:09:03 PM
Note, it doesn't increase my hashrate if you install nvidia driver the default would be P2 state, I don't know much about all this but I just follow a tutor on reddit months ago, after activating the P0 state I notice some improvement, most especially the results on pool, my gpu doing 32mhs but on pool it shows 27mhs and after the P0 state it shows accurately sometimes even over
27  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Nicehash Vs all on: February 03, 2021, 11:43:28 AM
I still don't know why calculators are all saying different things, after carefully doing research myself I find out that the rewards are all the same thing, even on nicehash I get extra satoshis, it's weird though, I will keep using Nicehash because

1. I want to store BTC
2. Ethereum gas fee is very high so btc is more affordable
28  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Only God knows for how long mining will remain profitable on: February 02, 2021, 06:12:27 PM
If you keep focusing on how long mining will be profitable you won't do anything in the end, years ago Ethereum announced they are going POS and some thought it was over, I should have built a mining rig years ago but I halted because of their news and now the POS news is out again, you better don't wait around
29  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Coins paying dividends on balances? on: February 02, 2021, 05:42:27 PM
Doesn't make sense, why giving away the tokens or coins to holder when the coins have good value and use cases? It's like throwing away money for just holding some coins in wallets, don't be surprised if such project go scam on you later, better go for staking coins
30  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Intel enters desktop dGPU market on: January 27, 2021, 02:45:35 PM
Not be able to buy they separately makes this pointless, I thought intel will build their one discrete gpu and challenge nvidia and AMD, so why the post anyways? We can't expect this gpu to be good for mining rigs since they aren't standalone, aaargghh
31  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Octopus algo is better on RTX2*** on: January 27, 2021, 02:41:57 PM
Hm, thats true, Conflux isn't available on whattomine platform for unknown reason but only Minerstat calculator has conflux (octopus algorithm) integrated, I don't mine with RTX2060 and others because they are less profitable and not worth their money but good for gamers

Sure it is...its called by the algo its used..Octopus....lower left of the listed algos.

Shows

2080 = 48.8
2080ti = 58.5
3060ti = 48.0
3070 = 52.7
3080 = 77.0

And yes on paper conflux is more profitable....but the 24volume is only 1.5btc where as eth is over 16,000btc....liqudity is an issue for conflux vs eth.  You can always trade eth....second most liquid coin for miner...only btc is more.

But calc says i make more....but you have limited market and limited volume to compete with everyone else who only thinks about cal number and liquidity.  Also we will see after this boom if conflux is even a thing.  Eth will be.
The 24hrs volume of Conflux token is just 1.5btc so how is this bad for miners? You can sell whatever you mine every 24hrs if you think the volume isn't good enough or can shrink later, I used to mine graft coin with cryptonight algorithm and at the time it has only 20,000$ volume per day, I always switch to Monero using trade ogre exchange, you are good as far as there is buy orders
32  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Mining XMR on: January 26, 2021, 04:45:26 PM
Dear all.
Which pool can I use to mine the most optimal XMR?
and I can use xmrig to mine?
Thank you for support.
XMRig is the best Monero miner I've used in the past and also the best pool I've used is MineXMR.com, this pool is very stable and active too, easy to configure like other pools out there, use and drop your feedback, also know that Monero now use RandomX Algorithm

Are you also using this XMRig that you were talking about, I actually have XMR on my bag too and I wanna mine more XMR too
XMRig is the most stable XMR Miner out there, it has better Hashrates and supports huge page on CPUs too, you will definitely get better Hashrates if you use XMrig miner, it's what I'm using to mine on my XEON server CPU
33  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: BIOS is not saving configs!? on: January 26, 2021, 04:43:01 PM
This might sound crazy but it's true, I once owned a AMD motherboard and I was trying to upgrade the BIOS but it keeps showing back the old BIOS number, I got tired and neglect the motherboard for months and one day I decide to clean the motherboard and I saw BIOS lock on the motherboard, it's like connector that breaches two pins together just like the ones you'd find when you want to erase CMOS battery, I remove the PIN and try to flash the BIOS and it works, I'm just saying trying looking into the motherboard carefully with torch light and read
34  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Is it possible for a Billion max supply capped altcoin to reach $100? on: January 25, 2021, 03:24:14 PM
It is very possible but there isn't any coin with such max supply and trading at 100$ per coin yet, such coin must be well adopted and highly demanding too, no altcoin is this capable today unfortunately, only XRP have such massive max supply and still have good value
35  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Here's Why Ethereum Could Beat Bitcoin As Best Asset Of 2021 on: January 25, 2021, 03:16:08 PM
Be expecting more new projects to run on Polkadot from now on, I don't think Ethereum will forever be the best altcoin, there will be top satisfying challengers that we've never dream of, is there anything that is impossible in this world?
36  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Solve taking profit problems. on: January 24, 2021, 03:00:25 PM
I used to be in loss because I wanted to be a whale, so even when price of the Tokens im holding pumps I always hesitate to take Profit, everything changed around when I started taking profits since 2018, something I should have started my crypto journey with, the problem is almost all new altcoins aren't worth the hold, long term hold mostly
37  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Service Discussion (Altcoins) / Re: Coinbase for Alt Coins.... on: January 24, 2021, 02:55:28 PM
Coinbase exchange services are too strict for my liking, you can't trade on that exchange unless you are KYC verified and also coinbase team are the ones in control of users private keys, they dont give them out to users, they have every right to sit on your asset and deny you of withdrawal if they want
38  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: IDO is going to replace IEO? on: January 23, 2021, 02:37:37 PM
I wish for more good projects to get launched that hoping for a new crowdfunding, whichever any new project use is fine for me, all I have to do is my own research, if the project is good enough for me I will use any available fundraising event they have for the project, whether IDO, IEO, ICO or others I don't care
39  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Mining on Windows 10 and possibly fixing lower than expected hashrate on: January 23, 2021, 02:35:26 PM
Hmm, it sounds like I'm hearing this for the first time but it's true, anyways I never like mining on windows OS for few reasons and as per hashrate issue mining on Linux OS works better and also we have hive OS and other mining OS now so I don't need windows OS, it's too buggy
40  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: can I mining ALT Coin with PC's CPU (core i7) on: January 23, 2021, 02:32:42 PM
Yes, you can. But firstly - try to count. May be profit, that you can get, will be less potential problems. Plus electricity bills. I`m not good specialist at CPU mining, but as i know, 1 medium GPU gives much profit than 3 top CPU. Correct me if i`m not right.
You don't need any corrections mate, the fact is I haven't seen any core i7 that's Profitable for mining XMR, only AMD CPUs are Profitable, the only CPU ive yet to try is core i9 series, I'm sure their performance will be lower too, they aren't just good for RandomX Algorithm, it's better to go with GPU mining
