5000 dollars is enough to build yourself a very strong portfolio ,you should just go for bitcoin and ethereum ,this two can't go wrong and they are here to stay ,you might want to diversify up and get some altcoins too like waves ,tron ,ripple ,pundix etc that are all good projects with bright future ,the choice is yours to make ,stay away from icos for now ,be a holder instead

And presently as of Jan 14 ripple takes back the second place but to me ethereum is better than ripple and I'm sure after the Constantinople hard fork it will be tough for ripple to ever hit the second position again

The price will shoot up if ETF get approved but that doesn't mean it can't ever fall down again ,up and down is what makes cryptocurrency stable ,profits when high and buying at cheaper rates when low .

This is why I still believe anything can go wrong about cryptocurrency, even with the good news of bakkt and wall street I'm still not confused as crypto is so unpredictable ,the only assurance I have is the next bitcoin halving which is in 2020 and I'm sure huge spikes in price will occur

It depends ,if you are a developer you will make it fast by creating your coin ad launching ICO ,you all know what I'm talking about ,secondly if you have the money to build masternodes yes you will earn better bucks ,investors are the only one that suffers a lot and for them cryptocurrency is not a get rich quick scheme
