Most likely .. I've not paid attention to the semantics but everything I've seen suggests it's just another box people are putting their clutter to help align imagination for what comes next.. and a lot of that about empowering the user.

Did anyone ever make use of web2.0?.. likely web3 is the same - useful in the absence of better terminology that is specific to utility.. and Safe Network of course being centred on privacy; security; and freedom will have utility in spades.. and not just the sum of those three interests but the intermix of them will be powerful.

Surely you can do better than being mean? Try harder. Try to make the world a better place, rather than just leeching off it.
Yes, development takes time but focus on the positive; focusing on the negatives is lazy.

The devs on this project are among the best and the support they command is valued well enough - that they don't pander to those whose only interest in the next pump and dump, only evidences that they are respecting the long term investments. There's always some noob who disagrees and wants insta-gratification - childlike methinks.. and there are so many other copy coins out there to choose if you disagree.

With the BambooGarden Fund committee now in place,
we are excited to invite applications for funding in the following areas only:

    Formal documentation
    We believe the project would benefit hugely from having our algorithms formally documented. Perhaps a technical writer or the like who has experience writing formal algorithms and papers would be able to offer value here. Having these formal documents in place helps onboard developers who are getting involved, while also helping external auditors who we would at some point be asking to check our code for security flaws, bugs, etc.
    Additional CRDT expertise
    Additional consensus expertise
    Additional networking expertise

These initial areas have been identified as a priority by MaidSafe and agreed with the committee. We would like to restrict applications to these specific areas for now to help funnel the applications at a steady rate for the volunteer fund committee members, while also helping us compare and assess applications for the same or similar projects.

We look forward to receiving applications to the fund, however, these must be supplemented by a cohesive and exhaustive plan in order to be seriously considered.

If you submit via email, please include a summary of your idea and how it helps achieve the fund’s goals, a detailed plan on how you intend to implement this idea, and the expected costs of this proposal that you would like the fund to cover.

We would also love to see short video presentations, maximum 10 minutes, included as part of applications. A video presentation would help the committee evaluate these applications so we encourage them where possible, but they are not mandatory. Applicants may also make these videos widely available on the forum, if they wish, but we understand some may not want their ideas made public.

We anticipate that funds will be paid out for successful applications either on final delivery, or on reaching agreed milestones on the way towards delivery, with evidence required that those milestones have been met.

Each application will be evaluated not only on whether it meets the fund’s purposes, but also on whether it provides value for money.

While we cannot guarantee we will accept every application, we do encourage as many as possible.

An exchange that wants to be credible, will offer the better tokens on their own initiative. It's in their interest. Too many scams wanting money up front to sponsor their learning the abcs.

to note: MaidSafe is the company; Safe Network is the product.

So, the Safe Network is grounded in generic concepts of Privacy; Security; and Freedom. Those will appeal to mainstream, as they solve many problems. Those strengths are designed to be a counterbalance to the problems that the current internet suffers from; having learned lessons from the old, the developers are looking develop something very new to solve those differences.

There are clearly problems with data security; with privacy; with freedom of expression.
The solution is to empower the user, rather than indulge the greed of others as if big is better.

There are a lot more problems that Safe Network can solve - one is loss of data. The Safe Network's ambition is pay once, retain forever. It's a different environment as a serverless autonomous network but there are great advantages. Even if all it becomes is a backdrop for data storage the difference it will make is huge.

While there are some detractors and interests that are not aligned; while the old, will resist change; and while those who exploit users for their data, will resist strongly.. I would suggest that progress is inevitable.

Power corrupts and the most powerful resist change most strongly.. but the individual users need something different; something better.
The power that leeches from the opportunity that the original internet promised, is undermining itself.. as is always the way with corruption, the tide turns because they push away those they exploit.

"Freedom of expression, control of personal data, private and secure communications; and a whole new economy." - These are concepts that truely matter, if we are to have a better world. We cannot expect the current internet to provide better than it is designed to, there are fundamental problems with the design that work against everyone's better interest.

So, yes I think it can go mainstream in a big way.. yes, I think the most powerful actors will resist loosing their vice like on the current normal .. but I think users deserve better.

Also, given the forum we are on, I will note that the quality and consistency of delivery from the MaidSafe developers, outclasses every other project that is remotely crypto related. I would expect anyone looking for what real world outputs can follow now from what crypto-currency and crypto-assets had promised, will want in because frankly crypto has under-delivered.. there is a lot of opportunity for developers here too; a large part of crypto's problem is the PoW problem energy in a world anxious about sustainability - and willingly PoS to work won't make that happen either.. and Safe Network is a really simple solution to all that interest. Yet, that is just one aspect.

The Safe Network is so much more.. that it has a token in MAID that will be exchanged 1:1 for safecoin on the network, is incidental. The real prospect is in the utility.

A better internet - yes, I think that can be mainstream!

This is not just another copycoin project, far more ambitious and rooted in principal not profit.
It's unfortunate perhaps there are not more markets but most in the know are holding and there's little added value from the pump and dump crowd. Investors looking for real projects can see what this is clearly enough.

Also for the more tech savvy watch the Github for signs of just how alive.. though that repository does not include all the devs background it's a good starting point.

No joke.. MAID has been undervalue for long time..
It's up and down but that's a nice new uplift.
I don't know more about this but the obvious is that having not had a good option on brokerage there is one now; so, perhaps those who could not buy are doing so. It's position is up to 123 but again that is well below where it should be considering what clutter of other projects are above that line.


and of course it's possible there are new developments that bring us even closer to new testnet. Certainly real world events are calling more and more for options that provide the individual privacy; security; and freedom.. it's the future.. just have to wait a while. Quality and complexity take a while to ensure they are delivering robust solution.
