Technological progress is a perpetual process of automation and abstraction. Difficult and complex tasks are made simple by software and machines until they are completely taken for granted. Technology moves on, taking down new blockers in the path to progress as it goes. A good example of this is cloud computing, where once complex server administration tasks have been replaced, from the point of view of the consumer, by point-and-click.

The SAFE (Secure Access For Everyone) Network takes this further, automating the entire network of interconnected machines, making it autonomous, secure, anonymous and capable of  storing, protecting and delivering data without any human involvement at all.

The SAFE Network is the vision of MaidSafe, a Scottish software company working in the field of decentralized computer networking. It is an autonomous peer-to-peer network created by linking together users' computers and smartphones that's designed to solve many of the current technical, managerial and societal problems with centralized networks: a lack of privacy and data security, censorship and the massive consolidation of control by a few powerful actors.

(In case this sounds familiar, members of MaidSafe acted as advisers for HBO’s Silicon Valley TV series in which a startup tries to reinvent the Internet!)

The Network is ‘trustless’, with no central point of control and no single point of failure. With connectivity and security taken care of, the Network is simple from the point of view of developers, with no need to worry about low-level storage, networking, backups and computing resources. For people using the Network to store and share data and messages the burden of ensuring the security of precious information would be drastically reduced.

Anyone with a connected device can join the network anonymously (subject to a resource test) as a provider, and anyone can use the network to store data or peruse public information on it. The Network is thus a platform on which new digital worlds can be constructed.

This guide outlines how the SAFE Network is constructed to achieve these aims. While it is somewhat technical in places, it's intended very much as an overview, and even those with very little technical knowledge should be able to gain a good working understanding of the SAFE Network. Some do not understand how to make a contribution to the world and just want to drag others down. Sad.
Some need to learn the basics about what makes a better world and how!

Others will try to make a better world, counter the negatives with doses of reality and hope on occasion to turn the negatives and provide people the opportunity to contribute. Too many lazy people in this world atm.

You already noted that development of the www took a while. yawn.

This project only attracts the weakest trolls because everyone with good sense understands the value and prospect.. and appreciates the work to date; many then also understanding the complexity and the effort required.

What has been achieved to date is outstanding.

If you're either stupid; missing the point; or inexperienced and childlike, then my advice is take time to understand to have some respect for others.

and while this is still a pima.. I shall note that out of this forum, Google reCaptcha is behaving like a retard. Even though it's validated me multiple times, it keeps checking each time I visit Google search.. might be using a vpn but still, why keep checking.. not extraordinarily bot like searches either. Stupid Google is stupid.. but try telling it that!

I wonder this is a problem that will become more common with computers and their masters, thinking they are clever.

The fate of all companies is to become dull?.. perhaps that's why most companies don't last into another generation of staff and stagnate.

Really should switch to Duck Duck or another. 

OmniDex incoming should help provide a better option, as that will be decentralised in the way that cryptogeneration always talked about being the vision for how exchanges should be done. It's possible its linked to the recent buy.. but equally possible that someone sensible is playing a long game and recognisesnthe potential for SAFE.. it's not hard to see the upwards opportunity here.
