There are many ways to get free altcoins.
Airdrops- doing some small one time  tasks(social media), you can get some altcoins.
Bounties:- Doing social media tasks weekly for some weeks, can let you earn good amount of altcoins over the period of few months.
Once you have some altcoins, you can increase you portfolio by participating in staking and mining, if the respective project supports it.

I was aware about using fake identities, but not to the extent you mentioned it. I think transparent team can be identified only through community updates, their active involvement with community and that to on regular basis.
Another important aspect is AMA. Due to regular AMAs by team, confidence can be increased in the project.

Now a days when projects are struggling to reach their hard cap(even soft cap in some cases), due to huge fees and less funds availability, its very difficult to get listed for these projects on big exchanges. And in addition to that, the mentioned criteria fulfillment will be very much hectic to projects.
Only genuine projects with big investments can achieve listing on renowned exchanges.  

As your graph shows, If we leave Bitcoin, al other are just going down and not early signs of coming back to previous glory.
I think this is because, now a days, everything has scattered and people(investors) dont know where to go. One of thee reason is lack of confidence in these investors.
Where as , the leader is still looks promising and unbeatable.

With the introduction of ICOs, we thought its good way to invest money in crypto spece. But as days past, we faced many scam ideas with these ICOs. To get real investors and increase their confidence, IEO with the help of exchanges have began. As of now I see it very successful. But who knows what will come in ear future. As per the trend and demand of investors, the fund raising mechanism may get changed.

I agree with you specially for point one and 3.
Huge discounts are attracting traders but not real investors. As soon as project gets listed, this 50% discount is getting converted to profit by thease private investors. These discounted tokens should have 2-3 years of locking period to avid dump.
I thing due to huge fees, project are selecting cheap, new exchanges for listing. However, this is affecting reputation of projects.

Due to lot of scam projects, since investors lost there hard earned money, are now kind of disappeared.
This i because now a days investors dont  have that much confidence like it was previously until mid 2018. Day by day the confidence in investing in crypto space is decreasing and affecting the entire money flow in crypto market.
Hope year 2020 will increase this confidence again and will see greenery everywhere.
 

It depends on projects and bounty manager I think.
I have seen projects where only three participants were there and at the end they shared entire allocated tokens(lottery   ).
I have also seen projects where there are very less participants, rewards were reduced to great extent mentioning not raising the funds as expected.
Now a days, I am seeing projects mentioning the rewards criteria based on the participants. In one project it was the condition that if there are less than 100 participants join, rewards will be reduce to half of what is allocated.

I started bounty in 2018.Since then I really appreciate the reward response from three projects. Contents Protocol, VELIC and MultiVAC. I am delightful working on these projects. Sure, I missed other god projects but I think its not that much possible to identify only good projects.
Apart from these, there are many projects which failed due to what so ever reason and did not distribute the tokens yet.
Hope year 2020 will be a successful year for bounty hunters.

From my point of view, this is the time for investing or accumulating altcoins and bitcoin. There is a change that glory of 2017 market situation will come again in mid 2020 due to big event called bitcoin halving reward event. Lets hope for the best.

I think very soon some solution like regulation should be imposed in cryptocurrency  market. This will definitely reduce scam projects to great extent. IEO with renowned exchanges has working well in this direction also. With ICO, there was more possibility to build scam projects and to trap investors into it.
Hope, 2020 will be scam free world.

With IEO, since there is also involvement of exchanges, there is less possibility of scam and risk since exchanges also need to increase their user base and increase confidence of existing users.
In ICO there is lack of transparency which affects the fund raising requirements as investors dont have that much confidence.

Surely this is possible. The projects are which are genuine and with high potential, but due to less advertising or marketing, not known to many investors, always starts with low volume. The projects concept, consistent development and its strong community can highlight it in the crypto space which once known to investors, can be grown huge.
Such projects also have advantage that after a certain time, people get more confidence investing in the project which slowly increases its market capitalization.

In that case we have to st in a box with bitcoin and top altcoins only. We should not dare to invest in new project as day by day its becoming very difficult to identify scam projects and eventually we will fall into those.
Lets hope for the best, or the real gems in crypto anyways can save us.

I think low volume condition is not due to bad market condition. Its the project which is having less confident investors due to reasons like less fund raising, no development as per road map, no proper updates to community and so on.
I think the projects which are genuine and having potential will sustain in bad market conditions and will jump higher when market is in upward trend.
