401  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: my simple way to store bitcoin - is it any good on: November 08, 2020, 11:10:04 AM
hi, i'm new, no experience, i'm buying bitcoin on exchanges

i want to cold store without using hardware wallet.
(i've tried keepkey and it is too complicated for me)

my idea is to use, say a coinbase wallet,
keep 12 words safe & not upload backup to cloud
then transfer all my bitcoins from exchanges to wallet
then delete the wallet

then all i need to do is keep my 12 words safe for many years on metal plate
i tested by opening another different wallet  (bitcoin.com),
then, using these words, all my bitcoins appeared
is this safe to do and still work again in say 10 years

This is new to me, metal plate, but of course as long as no one discover what is inscribed on that metal plate, your coins are safe, it's definitely is safe even after ten years as long as Bitcoin is profitable, but get ready to HODL for that those years, I know some guys who tried to stored their private key in a vault but ended up trading it after a year.
402  Economy / Speculation / Re: sold mine at 14100 dammitttt on: November 08, 2020, 05:52:27 AM

please say something will make me feel better dammitt

and sorry its my first post but I check and read a lot of your messages almost everyday

You should be comfortable when you are buying and selling your coins, because the market is full of uncertainty, yours is not the only one almost everyone here suffers the same bad decision, it happens to me so many times but not on Bitcoin mostly altcoins I delayed selling only to find out that there's no way to liquidate.
403  Economy / Speculation / Re: Any relation between market dump and Biden's win? on: November 07, 2020, 11:47:28 PM
Do you see that guys, the price of cryptocurrencies are in red since Joe Biden crosses the required number of place to become president?

Almost every crypto is in red at the hourly candle and what's your opinion with the dump caused especially after such news?

I don't think there is but what he will do is what makes an impact, if the cause of the dump is because of Biden winning the election, it is just a speculation, he hasn't announced anything on Cryptocurrency during his campaign, so I assume he is not against it, but will see it after he assume office, all we have to do now is to hope that he is positive on this technology.
404  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Philippines Allows Land-Based Casinos to Accept Bets Online on: November 07, 2020, 11:07:26 PM
I'm hoping they will integrate crypto as a payment system, Philippines have no problem with crypto adoption, so I guess it would help to give an ease to the gamblers to do their thing, if they won't, I think we gamblers who are in the forum would prefer a crypto casino rather than our own.

I'm sure they will the Philippines is one of the Crypto friendly country, but things are not yet in placed, Cryptocurrency in the Philippines is a work in progress we already have a lot of local exchanges and converting and trading fiat to Crypto and buying is very easy here, we will soon have Crypto integrated and maybe the Philippoines will soon have their own popular Cryptocurrency gambling site.
405  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: A gambler living in England makes a $5M bet on Trump on: November 07, 2020, 05:06:37 PM
Too bad he choose the wrong one. However I don't think it will bother him no one will place $5M on a single bet for sure this person is really rich that he can manage to lose that $5M easily.
I think it would no matter how rich you are after losing a bet like that it would surely affect you.
Maybe not the money but your dignify or personality specially if there are people who knew that you lost that much in a single bet.

Of course it will affect him $5 million is $5 million unless he is filthy rich or a multi millionaire where he can make a million in a matter of week, the result could go the other way around because the fight is to close and Trump is 100% confident that he will win, maybe that's what this gambler saw that is why he bet on Trump, let's see if he will make a statement on his loss, Trump do not want to accept the loss.

407  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: CAN WE STILL GET THE 2017 BULL IN THIS 2020? on: November 07, 2020, 01:55:58 AM
With two months to go I'm not positive that it will happen, instead let us just be thankful that the price is very good and showing strength, in this time of pandemic all my hopes are on 2021, there are so many good things that happened in 2020 that it will be carried in 2021 to make another all time high possible, but let's us not feel comfortable, the market is still volatile and still anything can happen.
408  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Does Name really matter in crypto? on: November 06, 2020, 01:28:47 PM
Please there's something I really want to understand about this crypto industry because at times as a newbie in this cryptocurrency industry you might get this wrong by making more mistakes in crypto. Does crypto name really matter before it become successful?

I have encountered a lot of new names unfamiliar names, and names that sounds like a shit coin but eventually become a good coin, so it's not the name that tell us the potential of the coin, but of course developers should think of a name of a coin/token that rings a bell and as much as possible they can connect to the industries that they want to connect, so if the platform is all about gaming, the name should be synonymous to gaming.
409  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: An Indian boy committed suicide after losing money by Betting in IPL on: November 06, 2020, 01:15:51 PM
He is already 21 he is not a child anymore, but unfortunately he do not how to stop and do not want to admit he is losing that makes him decide to not quit and chase his losses, what a way to waste your life is not the losing it's the debt that he thinks he cannot pay anymore, I don't know if he has a friend or a confidant that he can tell his problems, but this guy is out of control and lose guidance.
410  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Why Youengine (YOUC) failed on: November 05, 2020, 04:41:37 PM
the youc project price is already a bad dump if you are a bounty hunter so be patient because at this time the price has really dropped so drastically I am also following the youc bounty yes indeed the selling price is so small the buying volume is also very low I think it is quite disappointing for the bounties hunter but you also have to wait for the price to go up because the admin has written on telegram that it will list in the top 4 exchanges. You have to wait for good news, I believe the Youc team will try hard to increase the price of their tokens.

The scenario is not new to us, it's not only YOUC this is a start up project, so far they have done two things they launched a bounty campaign they pay their bounty hunters, bounty hunters should not complain, if they want to dump then go dump, the developers business will start after the campaign and after they got funded, so it's to early to give up on this one, unless the developer suddenly do not update anymore on their social media, but they are still addressing issues giving update.
411  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: A gambler living in England makes a $5M bet on Trump on: November 05, 2020, 06:39:41 AM
I hope this bettor is alright if indeed Trump would really loss in the election, it's a huge amount but I'm hoping he is not betting his life savings and he can afford what he would lose, this is life, we gamble big for big reward, it's fair, isn't it?

He is a fool if he bet everything here, but nice try on his part, I'm not concern about Trump he is still a billionaire and he has his chance but I would like to know if the guy who bet for Trump to win the election is ok because he
Quote
consulted with “Trump camp insiders,”
that Trump will win of course they will declare and say that Trump will win why asked the insiders of a presidential camp, it should be on an independent camp.
412  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: A gambler living in England makes a $5M bet on Trump on: November 04, 2020, 05:05:27 PM

413  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: I have created a list of 88 social media based on blockchain or tokenized on: November 04, 2020, 04:59:45 PM
Most of these are not on the community's radar I only know a few of them but there are in fact so many that we are not yet stumbled, because some of them just come and go, I will take a look on some of them but like majority of us we all want to make an income while we are in pandemic some of them do not have a way for users to earn.
414  Local / Others (Pilipinas) / Re: Anyone using crypto exchange wallet on: November 04, 2020, 01:18:21 PM

I'm not an Abra user but nakikita ko namang maganda ang reviews nila.

415  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Safeguarding funds , your funds on exchanges are safe? on: November 03, 2020, 04:04:36 PM

[/b]
The better question is, how do you consistently manage your funds? Well, if you had a successful trade, then you would transfer a part of your profits to the wallet. I usually transfer 50% of the total profit on a weekly basis and increase my trading account with the rest
So let's say your entire fund is 5000$. You would transfer 4000$ to your wallet, and trade with 1000$.If you made 500$ on a trade with the 1000$, you would then transfer 250$ and trade now with 1250$.
Easier and safer than most think. No one is responsible for your own funds but you. Trusting exchanges isn't the smart move, otherwise, why are you on board with this entire decentralized finance train? Might as well stick to your local bank.

You are lucky that you are making profit from trading not everyone here can, and this is the reason why people prefer to HODL than to trade, they know the risk of storing their coins to long on exchanges for trading purposes, it's good if you can retain only your profit in exchanges but it's very tempting to store your coins in exchange if you know how to trade or very active in trading, this is one of the risk of traders.
416  Economy / Exchanges / Re: Best Rates on: November 03, 2020, 01:17:54 PM
I know this will depend on where you are, but where do you get the best rate for buying and selling bitcoin?

I take it pure peer to peer would be the best.

In general, are places like localbitcoin better than the large exchanges like Coinbase?

I don't think so if your's going peer to peer you have to agreed on what price that you are going to trade or deal on exchange you can get a better rate if you set a much higher rate on your sell or buy order and let the market decides on the best rate, honestly I have never tried local Bitcoin I am more comfortable trading on exchange I feel much safer trading there.
417  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: [Boxing]: Nordine Oubaali vs. Nonito Donaire - December 12 on: November 03, 2020, 11:52:01 AM
After Donaire's performance against Inoue I have strong faith that he can win this fight against Oubaali, Oubaali is the one who beat Inoue's younger brother to win the title, there was no slowdown and weakening on Donaire's power and he is still a very top fighter at his age, he can take Oubaali's power because he is not powerful like Inoue.
418  Local / Pilipinas / Re: Bitcoin's price, at ang ating mental health. on: November 03, 2020, 09:59:59 AM

419  Economy / Scam Accusations / Re: Trust wallet fake giveaway 1000 Ethereum ( 02/11/2020) on: November 03, 2020, 01:18:53 AM
If you are part of the official Trust Wallet newsletter and you did not received such kind of giveaway then do not take part, legit and valid giveaways are first announced on the project's official newsletter, all the other announcement outside of it are questionable, it's very important that you are part of the newsletter or official media channel of the project you are supporting.
