I got a personal call from Mr. Zipkin himself, as well as a text.

When I woke up I gave him a call back and talked to him on the phone. My miner is on the way, but apparently my tracking number is dust in the wind.
He did inform me I could call FedEx and receive the status of the shipment  using my name and address, but I had already done that earlier that morning. So I knew when it would be arriving.

He did apologize profusely about the lack of customer service saying it was one mistake of many the company has made at this point. There was sincerity in his voice, no trace of ego nor pompous attitude.

Anyway, I should be able to share more about the shipment when I recieve it. I'll document everything from un boxing it to set up with pictures. I'll get a video up of it hashing by friday if not later thursday evening.

It all depends on when FedEx arrives.

Other than that I hope their new found commitment to partial refunds or upgrades will extend to those whose kits they shipped. It would just require them to ship a new backplane and extra board. Partial refunds for the missing case and PSU would be nice as it would at least offset some of the cost of the power supplies I purchased. Obviously I'd prefer the extra hashing power though ;-)

I'm hoping my boards end up doing the. 1.5 in turbo that casey achieved rather than the 850 experienced by one of the other user here.

Time will tell, but I'll make sure I get it up for the community to see.

I really don't get this at all... According to the order list your order number is in the 1400s yet I'm still waiting for them to fulfill my order 899, and others also ahead of you are waiting like me. AMT please tell me why my order hasn't shipped yet? Please don't tell me it's because they opted for kits either, as I have similarly expressed my acceptance of said kits as long as hash rate isn't affected....

I have emailed, called, posted and yet you give me no information whatsoever on my order.

Anyway Rik good to hear your miner has shipped - excited to see your reviews

As to why I get mine I'm not exactly sure, but I've been pretty constantly hounding them via e-mail and perhaps I just over annoyed them. I really can't give you an answer on that, wish I could.

Delivery schedules shall be considered extended by a period of time which AMT deems necessary due to the event circumstances or cause of delay.

Yes they can extend the schedule, but the FTC has clear cut rules for business operating in the US about how they must go about that.

They can't just not ship the miner. If there is a delay it has to be reported to all of the customers. And at that point the customer is able to chose to agree to the delay or decline the delay and ask for full refund.

Thier rules don't supersede federal or state governmental rules or mandates on proper business practices.

I recommend AMT read over the rules they must follow.

http://www.business.ftc.gov/documents/bus02-business-guide-mail-and-telephone-order-merchandise-rule

Specifically this part:

Quote
If you decide you can ship the order later, you must seek the customer’s consent to the delay.
...
if the customer chooses not to wait, the customer can cancel the order and obtain a full and prompt refund

And their definition of Prompt refund is in 7 days by us first class mail.

I sent them the link directly when I submitted my request for refund. I was never acknowledged on that front.

Regarding this suit.

First, we have not been served or sent any documents/legal papers, or formal notices of suit. Currently the plaintiffs legal team, but mostly Mr. Lenell has been calling around trying their hardest (again we believe mostly Craig Lenell) to get any media to publish this and credit this as legitimate, but more over the soul purpose is to notify AMT customers and ask them to get involved on their side, to accumulate the damages in question so hopefully they can win more from us. If enough people join, and the damages are enough to cover the potential winnings, we will be served.

If you'd like to join the class, please contact the legal team here: http://www.chimicles.com/

There are a few outcomes that will come of this civil lawsuit:

1. The plaintiffs win, and force the company into bankruptcy.
2. The plaintiffs loose, or the case is dismissed fairly quickly.
3. The case is tried for a long time, costing thousands in legal fees on both sides ( which the majority of the class will not contribute to ) by which time everyone's miner will already be delivered.

4. (most probable)  Mr. Lenell will annoy and harass the crap out of everyone involved, overstep his welcome and eventually piss people off until they are fed up with him and quit. <- this one we know from experience.

Are we worried? Sure we are, we've given our hearts and best efforts to this business.

Are we going to drop everything, stop building/shipping miners and dedicate our time to lawyers and this case like Mr. Lenell has. No we wont, its not our style. We have a job to do, and we're going to finish it one way or another, period. We were due to be on the expo today, booth 401, we were going to demo our 2.4's, but in light of this news we felt its best to go to Toronto instead.

No one believes you anymore.
i do! :-P and i even still get rick rolled.

Well, then you sir are an idiot (no offense). What do you have to show for your 6k spent? Please enlighten me.

We shipped his rig yesterday, we're trying to find his tracking number in the moment.

If you are able to find mine too while you are looking that would be great. Thanks.

Aslo I requested my tracking number by e-mail yesterday and was told by jim he'll need to find it.

That was about 10 hours ago I imagine he was probably on his way to bed after a long day. So I'm hoping to receive it today.

That said I was told by AMT I had package being delivered, they've not got me the tracking number yet so I went ahead and called FedEx customer service. They confirmed I had a package in route, and that it is scheduled to be here on thursday the 10th. I'm hoping it will arrive wednesday. I would suggest anyone who was told their miner or kit has been shipped to call fed ex. Just know they won't release that tracking number to you. You'll need to get that from AMT.

AMT feel free to post my tracking # here I've already posted my address in the thread so it's no secret.

For your own sake that is not a smart thing to do. And I would tell them to email it to you directly. Then you can post it if you wish since it would be your liability at that poin. Since your address and now tracking number are public knowledge on here anyone within the right distance can swipe your miners. You MIGHT be around to receive them, but then again the person with malicious intent can also swipe them at gunpoint (and just because you might have one does not mean they cant get the drop on you). It happens more than you might think. Just some safety advice. Not a smart thing to do.

I appreciate the concern, though I don't personally share it.

I don't have nor need a gun. My packages are not delivered directly to my home anyway. The office at my complex takes care of that and they make me show an ID every time I go in even though they know me by name and face due to the property managements rules.

As for if someone takes it by force, they could do that anyway. On the day of delivery or otherwise.

On the topic of the lawsuit and AMT's change of heart on partial refunds and partial refund I'm assuming they've been set straight about how thing will turn out if this goes to trial from their own legal counsel. And the class they are trying to certify will pretty much cover anyone who has ordered from AMT and has either asked recieved a miner late, not received a miner, or has asked for a refund but was not given one. Which as far as I can tell is everyone (at least here).

It's probably in their best interest to reach a settlement before it goes to a Jury trial as requested.

I think people are giving AMT a break because they have been a little more forthcoming as of late. That or they feel that everything there is to say has been gone over so many times that now it just feels like were talking to CLennel's hand. Wink

AMT
just because people are being nicer is no reason to go silent on us again. How about an update.

What is the status on the 6 board back plane?
What is the ETA on power supplies?
Do you have a plan on how you are going to deal with the MPP due to the further delays?

New back planes came in Friday, they'll setup and run on Monday, and we'll need a day or so to configure the new addresses of the i2cbus/trim pot etc. See images below.

Power supplies are due to come in next Tuesday/Wedsnday, and all shipments that have not shipped by then will include power supplies.

A few kits were sent out on thursday and friday, a lot more to go out next week, over 30+.

No plan regarding the MPP as of yet. But the back plane allows for possibilities as you can see. Its breakable after slot 5, 6, 7 and 8.

Did mine make it to the Fedex facility today like Jim said it might? Or will it be monday? If it got there I'd like my tracking number. If it didn't I'd love the power supply I paid for. Hell I'd like the power supply either way. That could be sent afterward if necessary. The whole point of the kit option was due to delayed power supply so we could get it timely and we didn't need the case. I still don't need the case though.

The mods have deleted some stuff for not being on topic. Oddly these were post that kind of fostered a nice community environment here in the thread. Gentle ribbings and just having a laugh. But apparently they don't want a community built in this thread. They just want chaos and ranting.

Any way I've made a few e-mails to amt over this week, and calls where I left pleasant voicemails but have not been given a response. My understanding was that in opting for the DIY option we were going to be getting the miners with in 2-3 days as per the post from AMT. Unsurprisingly this has not come to pass, I'm wondering if anyone has received a tracking number or a a shipment.

Hopefully AMT will grace us with their presence here and let us know what the hold up is.

I'd really like to know when I'll receive my miner.
610  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: Official Thread: AMT on: April 04, 2014, 10:46:32 AM
It would be nice if the phone was answered when  I call. I wonder what the best time is. I just want to know when my kit will ship.
611  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: Official Thread: AMT on: April 03, 2014, 06:18:45 AM
My Uncle is an electrician, and is going to run me a dedicated line of 30 Amps. I think I should be safe, Josh asked me if I had enough electrical to power them both, I should have thought about it.

~Casey

That's why I want to split mine off of two breakers.

I was considering a 1000 and an 850 but I wonder if I should just do dual 1000s
612  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: Official Thread: AMT on: April 02, 2014, 06:15:26 AM
Ant S1 FYI: According to the UPS feeding 2 of them, 1 @ 180GHs the other @ 190 together they pull 739w from the wall. 'Course I run them off of separate 600w PSU's. Keeps the fans on them barely ticking along for nice long life.

I'm looking at the Corsair RM Series 1000  for the 3 cards and the Corsair RM Series 850w for the two cards for now, then when I pick up some S1s I'll grab a 1500W PSU for the AMT kit.

Hey guys,

Just so you know, I received my miners 3 days ago, and have been trying to hash ever since. I think it may be a backplane PCB board issue, or a power issue. I doubt its the raspberry pi board or the Serial cable board underneath.

They do hash, and they are legit.

I may have a power issue, not allowing me to run more than 2 boards/3boards at a time. Also, I don't trust the backplane design into ARM but that's personal preference... But they are real miners...Heres my ghetto RIG setup.

http://s935.photobucket.com/user/Casiriah_Mine/media/0330142307_zps0b876226.jpg.html

Good for you man. I hope you get everything up and running smoothly. I'm opting for two power supplies to draw off two different circuits so I don't trip a breaker. luckily I have a floor plan that makes it really easy to go that route, then I'll get a 1500 watt later when I get a few ant miner S1 and use the current power supplies I have for those.
614  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: Official Thread: AMT on: April 02, 2014, 03:08:20 AM
How long was the stated lead time on DIY Kits?

2-3 days or sooner? is what I thought I read, has that changed?
615  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: Official Thread: AMT on: April 01, 2014, 05:46:26 AM
They said anyone who filed a complaint they will not help. So a kit is not possible if you filed.

We didn't say that. We said that we just don't like clients that have filed a complaint. But to those that have filed a complaint, we can really send them a kit, because it does not qualify as the same product they ordered, therefore despite proof of shipment, they could continue with the complaint and say "AMT shipped me computer parts" or something.

The only way we can ship kits to clients which have filed complaints is either via proof of retraction of that complaint or by signing a waiver stating that you agree to receive the kit instead of the full miner, that you are technically capable of working with PCB components/boards etc..

I mean at this point we are essentially just hooking up the wiring to the correct places and fashioning a housing of our choosing. Or am I incorrect in assumption?
I mean things looks pretty intact in those pictures so I can put stuff together. It would be nice if there was some site support for the DIY kits where we could do a Q and A if there was an issue.

Yes you would be just hooking up the the pcie cables to the boards. As well as 5v USB cable to the backplane and the motherboard adapter to the mainboard. Instructions will be provided.

Sounds good to me. If I like the performance and I see the issues smoothing out with production, I'd consider getting some extra boards if they are priced right and you you end up selling upgrade kits.

Alyssa mentioned the upgrade kit you suggested, it seems viable in that aspect for guys that have a currently opted in for the kit.

We're hoping our 4 chip board will be ready sometime next week for mass production, if it is, that board it will allow for much smaller and efficient case options, 1u/2u server cases.

any word on if additional boards could be handled with the one pi?

am i right in presuming the "kit"  of 5 cards is the 1.2t machine and it comes with lcd screen or is that integral part of pi.

Actually we weren't going to throw in the LCD screen. We were how ever looking for bulk HDMI cables. The idea of the kit is to get the techies their miners quick. As they know what to do with them, we'd assume they'd hook up their monitors to the pi.

Shit I've got an extra monitor sitting around and more then enough HDMI cables. Seems like a viable option to me.
618  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: Official Thread: AMT on: April 01, 2014, 05:10:24 AM
I ok then I'll probably go with a 1000w and a 800w just so I have the extra overhead.

When trying different fans, first look at the cfm needed and just make sure ya at least match the total cfm of whatever they ship with. Or... maybe wedge some copper or aluminum tubing between the fins and plumb to a manifold for liquid-cooling... Wink Heck, I'd be tempted to pull the sinks and mount a cold-plate instead. Hmm...

On PSU's gotta say check Amazon or ebay, case in point, http://www.amazon.com/s/ref=sr_nr_p_n_feature_keywords_6?rh=n%3A1161760%2Ck%3Ahp+server+power+supply%2Cp_n_feature_keywords_two_browse-bin%3A6906988011&keywords=hp+server+power+supply&ie=UTF8&qid=1396308246&rnid=6525659011

Only catch is that they usually have 1-2 heavy output buses in the form of big copper lugs. Folks sel lug to pcie cable breakouts or just make yer own from some sets of pcie extender cables.
The case is fucked because it can't natively support two power supplies in it.

That's why buying a desktop PC case for this design was retarded. So was hoping it'd all run off of one power supply, and be expandable, to boot.

The way I see it, it'd be better to have dual 750's or 1000watt PSU's - redundancy being the key here (not one power supply issue will take all boards offline).

Shop around for "dual power supply cable" - these will let you connect two powersupplies to one motherboard (or switch). They are fairly cheap.

All 5 modules can run off one supply. The quality of the supply matters, as well as how you hook up the boards. Also the desktop case was not "retarded" as it allows for a larger exhaust fan, bay drive inserts, and the possibility of future upgrades depending on the board design.

Will you be getting back to people who want to go the DIY route tonight? I'm just trying to figure out when to have my miners here by. Edits, I've got miners on the brain I meant PSUs.

So will a 750 W run three of the cards smoothly or should I go up some wattage on one of the two PSUs?
