Maybe you did this, but remove the Phoenix Miner fan settings in your command options and let it just read your BIOS settings.  Perhaps it's creating some kind of conflict.

If you have the BIOS how you want you, you shouldn't need any Phoenix settings.

Other than that, I'd check your driver and see if there are fan issues with the version you are using.  I'm not sure if this applies to you, but I came across this.  Basically this driver was reporting slower fan speeds than were actually running.

Sorry man.. I wish I could be more help.

It's cool. Good to know that I'm not the only one scratching their head over it.

I give up on trying to fix this issue on my own. I'm turning to the community for help.
Here's the deal.
HiveOS running Phoenixminer 5.6d with 6 RX 5700XT Sapphire Pulse cards.
They're running really hot! They all have the exact same memory type (Micron) and are all flashed with the exact same bios.
My tuning commands are simply: -tt 90 -fanmin 95
My clocks are as follows: (these seem to be the most stable and optimal during the Spring/Summer months)
FAN 99
CORE 1400
VDD 800
MEM 910
MVDD 1300
VDDCI 800

Now some cards are running at 57MH/s. That's fine. That's what I want... at minimum. Those temperatures are 68 Core and 102 Memory.
But others are 50MH/s and temperatures are 74 Core and 106 Memory. So I'm chalking it up to thermal throttling.

Okay. So let's boost the fan speeds... but the fans are already set to 99%. But HiveOS is telling me that the fans are only running at speeds between 81% - 88%. No where near the 99% that I've set the command (-tt 90 -fanmin 95) to.
Where did I screw up?

Drivers 20.40
Kernel 5.4.80
OS Ver 0.6-203@210519

You're really pushing the limits of those 5700 xts.  I have 6 5700 xt red devils running:

1350 gpu/850 volts/885 memory, and the memory timings from 1500 MHz.  I'm getting about 54.7 mh/s.  Fans run ~24% with temps in the low to mid 50s for the gpu (I'm on ubuntu so I'm not sure of the memory temp).  They are rock solid.  That is slower than your top, but about the same considering your throttling.

It's up to you, but your only option is to scale back your memory or open them up and put in better thermal pads.  (I'd suspect your cards would last longer too.)

It's all about winning or losing the silicon lottery. It's hard to treat them all the same.

Thanks for such a prompt response.
They were rock solid during the winter months as they were in my basement but obviously when the ambient temperature started climbing so did the amount of crashes.
The issue here really isn't the stability but perhaps the configuration. Bottom line is that I'd really like to figure out why my fans won't (or can't?) reach in the 90% - 100% range despite my commands in Phoenix to do so.
I'm telling PM "Make the fans go max speed!"
Phoenix says "Fans...... go almost max speed. Four-fifths outta do it."
Then PM later says, "Oh look... your thermal throttling."

I suppose that's my issue.

Ahh.. I gotcha.  Truthfully I had a lot of problems getting software overrides to work and then be stable with my Red Devils.  That's through windows and Ubuntu, but I had more success in windows.  That's what led me down the Bios route.

You should be able to lock the fan speed in the bios.  You could lock it there and not try to go through software to do it.  I'm sure that'll at least allow you to max your fans no matter what the vram temps are.

https://www.igorslab.de/en/red-bios-editor-and-morepowertool-adjust-and-optimize-your-vbios-and-even-more-stable-overclocking-navi-unlimited/2/

Yep. Tried that already too. That's why they're all flashed with the same bios.

I have noticed though that my NVIDIA cards GTX1070 8GB are getting lower hash rates. They are both the same and I'm getting 19.2 MH/S and 25.8 MH/S.
I have previously used the included ZOTAC software for overclocking. (was getting stable 29 MH/S before)

Do you have any ideas why the hash rate is lower?

Same with all of my 1070 cards. As I understand it, it will become slower each time the DAG increases. I am stable with 26.25 - 26.9 for all 8 of my cards on HiveOS. +100 core, +1200 mem, power limit set to 132 (because these are plugged into a 1200w PSU.)
6  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Hive OS. №1 OS for mining on: January 17, 2021, 01:09:26 PM
So did anyone else's farms go offline today around 7pm Eastern Standard Time?
It was still using power, but HiveOS said that everything was offline. Weird.

Not sure if the HiveOs servers were down, i have these cuts on my hash rate, there was 1hr cut about 24h ago.
I think it still continues to mine..

Thanks for your response. Yeah it lasted about an hour. Between 7pm and 8pm EST of January the 15th.
I just noticed that all of my machines were marked offline but I was still able to shell into them during this time and everything appeared to be mining still. I didn't take any chances in case there was a hack or something (like happened to Nicehash several years ago) so I  stopped the mining process leaving the machines running.
It sounds like you were effected too the only difference is that you continued to mine to their pool and probably won't get paid for it if it's showing the 1 hour cut to your hash rate. I stopped almost immediately after noticing it.

Do you guys know how to apply -straps on this OS?

I can't seems to find where to add this "-straps 1" hope someone could share idea if where I can add this.
I just want to disable the pill and test the -straps for  phoenixminer.

The other thing is why claymore doesn't work on nVidia GPU?
Tried to switch to PhoenixMiner to Claymore.

Did you try editing PhoenixMiner under the Tuning tab? Try under Extra config arguments.

If Satoshi ever moved a single of his 1million+ coins, It would cause some serious panic and anxiety.. He has the power the dump BTC down to $1 if he dumped all those coins on the market for whatever reason.. Investors know this and monitor all those old address.. A single coin hasn't moved from those early days.. You'd know if it did by the storm on Twitter etc

I believe that if any of that was to begin to move BTC and altcoins would crash fairly quick just from the fear that the wallet(s) became compromised and someone was going to sell it all. I know that I would!
Then when the price of BTC goes down to the triple digits, use all of the billions of dollars (USD) that you earned from selling it to buy it all back up again!

Claymore = Satoshi Nakamoto ?

0.6-182@201214 supports Navi? I still use beta and it is really stable when I don't OC much. Should I upgrade?

That's a good question.
You can still update. I believe it's the kernel that needs to be in the beta. I was also previously under the impression that if I were to update that my 5700 cards wouldn't be recognized. That's not the case. For NAVI cards you just need the beta image for the OS afterwards you can update as needed. As far as I can tell anyway.

I'm probably missing a step but I tried to mine ETC and use my Ledger wallet as a payment address. I mined on HiveOS for three days and I still haven't received my payment to my Ledger. I'm still waiting on my ~5.5ETC. Until then I'm going to mine on a different pool.

I receive payment on MiningPoolHub.
Alex Cooper (HiveOS support) says that it's not their fault and there is nothing for them to investigate. So it's either Ledger (even though I'm receiving payments from another pool successfully) or it's their payment method.
Anyone?

Kernel 5.6.0-200909-hiveos-beta, OpenCL 19.30, so it is Beta3

Do stable work with Navi GPUs?

Nope. Only the beta images as far as I can tell.
Latest one is hiveos-beta-0.6-157@200909

Even if I'm running in administrator on Windows 10 I got this error.
Any ideas? Thanks

I'm getting that too except on HiveOS. Strange.

he said it for the new version: rxboost and straps must be administrator.

Moreover he does not recommend the 20.11x

Thanks for your response but he stated "Even if I'm running in administrator on Windows 10..."

And I'm using Linux... so why is it prompting for Administrator on Linux? Any ideas on how to su on HiveOS?

In hiveos in overclock section there is a tref parameter that you set to 20 or 30 that does the same or similar thing without using rx boost

Thanks, but for some reason I'm not seeing it. Probably because I'm using an old Beta version on all of my machines (some have 5700xt cards).
Do the non-beta versions support the 5700 cards yet?

I'm currently on 0.6-140@200519

UPDATE:
Went ahead and upgraded to 0.6-176@201121 without any issues but still can't do tref or amdmemtweak. I'm guessing the Navi cards aren't supported?

So I tried to use the new PhoenixMiner (5.2d) on HiveOS and included the -rxboost command and it's saying, "unable to set straps You have to run PhoenixMiner as administrator to set straps."

I'm embarrassed to ask this... but how do we run the software as administrator?
I stopped the miner, then entered "su" then ran the "miner start" command but it's still saying that I need to run as administrator.

Or maybe this is a PhoenixMiner (Linux) bug?

Thanks!

I have eight GTX 1070 Founders Edition cards mining ETH.
Using HiveOS on 440.82 drivers I'm averaging 28.25MH/s per card.
My temps are good (~68C maximum) with the fans running at 75%.
I have 150 Core 1400 Memory and 124 (w) Power.
That's probably the best that I can do at this moment. I'm constantly tweaking and re-adjusting though. I'm open to suggestions.

But where is linux version?! Sad

He stated that it will be available in a few days.
