The usb stick could be aging out.

Regular investment of fixed amount  keeping the pump and dump aside for a certain period until I run out of so called inflationary and centralised fiat could help me relax more.Going on with this strategy from past few months.Contributing at my level going opposite of the bears so don't give a fuck about them.

Yeah I do a weekly dca.
And mine and hold the btc.

83  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Max safe 3070 memory OC / perfCapReason on: July 06, 2021, 04:12:01 PM
You should see the mhs you get

At

. 1600
1500
1400
1300

And you can adjust  accordingly

Basically if you do 61 mh at 1300 or 1400 it would be easier on the ram

84  Bitcoin / Pools / Re: [∞ YH] solo.ckpool.org 2% fee solo mining 257 blocks solved! on: June 29, 2021, 03:05:01 PM
I will likely start one more.

SAY July 3rd in time for USA July 4 Holiday.

I may try 13 people in honor of the first 13 states.

Same amount 0.01

And add identifying at end.

0.01000013 I would do this one.
0.01000012
0.01000011
0.01000010
0.01000009
0.01000008
0.01000007
0.01000006
0.01000005
0.01000004
0.01000003
0.01000001

Those tag  on numbers are under  1 usa cent and allow me to identify everyone.

So if you missed first one you will get first crack at the next one.

Of course with 13 people who enter you get 1/13 of payout after tipping ck

I wish you all good luck with that run!
I keep all fingers crossed.

@Phillipma1957: nice to read, that your'e wife is better now! all best wishes to you and here.

Yeah one reason for not doing a run until she got.better was winning a block would not feel like fun.

Now if we win one I can spend some.on my wife.😁
86  Bitcoin / Mining / Re: How often does a solo miner solve a block on: June 22, 2021, 02:25:05 PM
As the OP said, it's all random luck.
Remember, no matter what the size of your farm, only 1 machine in the world finds a block. We can only hope that it is one of ours.

I've been on KanoPool since late 2014 and to-date have found 10 blocks for the pool. The last one (block #608428) was found on 2019‑12‑16 by one of my A841's in a 60THs cluster, one before that (#570025) found on 2019‑04‑03 by a M10 and another (#566019) found on 2019‑03‑07 by a 8-9THs R4. That same R4 also found a block (#543875) on 2018‑10‑01.

Point is that individual miners CAN and DO find blocks. Yes I would have LOVED to have hit those running solo but knowing how the Fates can work I prefer to think it would not have happened...

I skimmed the rest of the thread but didn't see anyone reply asking what I wanted to ask, so I'll go ahead and ask even though it's been six weeks since you posted this.

How does your total income at pools to date compare with what you would've earned had you mined these blocks solo?

I have 1200th.

assuming flat difficulty which is not true over a long time

I make
0.007 per day
0.070 in ten days
0.700 in 100 days
7.000 in 1000 days

so a block in three years would be “normal”

a block in three months would be very lucky.
a block in 30 years would be very unlucky.

All on the assumption of flat difficulty.

which has not lasted more than a year or so. since mining began.

I am fairly certain no 2 years have passed without diff rising .

I cant mine 1200th for more than 100 days with no income from it.

That makes things a bit easier to visualize, thanks. If you don't mind me asking... how much DOES it cost you to mine 1200TH? Roughly.

My deal is 1/2 the coins.

So when price and profit is low I get half the coins. Good for me

And when price + profit is high I get half the coins. Good for the warehouse owner.

I am at hospital with my wife she is getting lung tests.

I will start collecting tonight.

After 17 months of fighting covid-19  and lung damage she has been getting much better. This test will determine how much lung capacity she has.

Cough finally stopped. No more junk coming up. Her o2 levels are 97% and up. Her fast heart beat is normal so we think and hope this has been beaten.

Hope everything goes well Phil.

She is testing right now. My fingers are crossed.

I know it is off topic but this has been a long haul for my wife and I . We are hoping she is back to normal.

I'm surprised no one mentioned watercooling yet. I am waiting for gear to convert my 3080s to watercooled ones, hope this will allow me to lower mem temps at least 10C.

Hard to get a new hybrid from evga.

But if I do I will put them in a back room of a barbershop.

I would do 1 hybrid 3080 per rig.

Very likely i will never.get access to these cards

If you are planning on having the GPU inside an enclosed case and you want it to be quiet (not silent) then you can get away with 1 GPU. If you want more than 2 then forget about it. Even with high flow silent fans one of the GPUs will overheat (the 2nd GPU) and you will need to increase your airflow or open up the case to get proper ventilation.

You can’t do this in an office. You will have an important meeting and people are going to be wondering why is his PC so damn loud. It’s not professional. ASICS you can forget about. Those are as loud as a vacuum cleaner pretty much.

I think he can do well with a big case, not normal one with 2xRTX 3060 ti and set the core clock -200 and fans not very loud at 50%.He can do that if he manages to get one OMEN PC desk or the likes(which I doubt they are common in the office) but anyway even with one such card which can fit in a normal Midtower case is Ok to start mining at the low level the OP wants.

If he goes for lower cards what's the point of doing this anyway?

In a work office it won't work because of the way HVAC is set up. Most of the time, there is a HVAC temp control in the middle of the office somewhere. Usually office rooms don't have their own temp control because it would be too much wiring and everything.

If he has a few GPUs and even if they are silent, that room is going to be way too hot. People are going to question why his office is hotter than the rest of the rooms. And if his office is closer to the HVAC control then it'll think that its too hot and the AC will run longer and the offices far away will be freezing cold.

It works fine it is under 850 watts for the six cards. Two amd 5500 xt
Two nvidia 3060 ti
A amd 5700 with an amd 5500

They total 240-245 mh.

The omen had two 1080ti sold them in the fall and added two 3060ti

The room is far from the ac thermostat it is cold as ice. He used a 1500 watt space heater set to 900 watts. He now burns the gpus

In the winter the room is too cold.

In his case it is next to perfect.

I have been doing gear in his place for six years. Key is 900 watt max and quiet.

Yes . Also my friend is in the office every week mon to fri.

So hard reboot is easy.

Smos is very trouble free software once it is dialed in there is not much to do.

I have 25 smos rigs and 2 windows rigs.

We have a barber shop with three small rigs in the back room this is another cheap power deal.

And my garage has 2 rigs
My partners base mentioned has a rig.

And the farm has 20 or 19 rigs that are bigger.

They dont need a lot of work and they are not loud.

We will grow the farm to 30 plus rigs.

And we have a few more offices we will add to.

94  Other / Meta / Re: Lightning Network subforum proposal. on: June 16, 2021, 05:38:27 PM
I used to.be resistant to ln network. BUT over time and seeing the scaling issue with more cost. I tend to think we should push LN network a lot.

FOR EXAMPLE  if the San Salvador experiment needs and uses LN successfully BTC will be benefit bigly.

So having a clear way to organize  LN posts and threads is important.

For instance a new miner-node the apollo is being sold.

It is yet to convert to LN node it would be good to have it running the LN node.

Having a section for a thread about that would help.
95  Economy / Economics / Re: Is money the root of all evil as the poor to thinks? on: June 16, 2021, 05:29:53 PM
I don't think money is the root of all evil, rather, it is "the love" of money that is the root of all evil. The misconception that money is the root of all evil is a propaganda promoted by those who have accepted their financial situation and have found solace in the fact that they are poor, so to console themselves, they quote the scripture to their benefit.

The actual scripture where this quote emanates is from- 1 Timothy 6:10 (from the KJV bible) which says - "For the love of money is the root of all of evil: which while some coveted after, they have erred from the faith, and pierced themselves through with many sorrows."

Take Note of the first sentence, "The love of money", not "money" alone.

And thank you for the first correct response to the poorly worded version  the op used.
96  Economy / Economics / Re: Is money the root of all evil as the poor to thinks? on: June 16, 2021, 05:27:02 PM
It is often said that the biggest difference between the rich and the poor has it origin from the mindset.
One major question that always borders me is "are we created with different mindset at birth and what role does environmental factors have to place on mindset of an individual".
Ubong King said "what you see determine the level of your achievement. The rich man orientation differs from the poor man orientation because While the rich man is thinking about wealth creation and self dependence, the poor is busy thinking how evil money is with the notion that money is the root of all evil hence they prefer to be poor than miss the Kingdom of God forgetting that our heavenly father who is rich expect us to take after him. Consider this,
"IS MONEY THE ROOT OF ALL EVIL?"

I would tell you get the quote correct:

"LOVE OF MONEY IS THE ROOT OF ALL EVIL"

THE answer to that question is yes.
97  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: Official FutureBit Apollo BTC Software/Image and Support thread on: June 15, 2021, 11:18:30 PM
After running the miner for a few weeks everything is pretty stable (I also have an LTC)

The only thing that is a bit problematic is the fact that the BTC miner randomly stops mining. (solid red light)
Not sure what is causing that, and I only have to restart the miner to get it going again but it's annoying when it happens in the middle of the night or when I am away for a few days. It would be nice to have an auto-restart or something like that.
The LTC miner used to do similar stuff when I upgraded it to run a node but since I stopped the node it doesn't do it anymore so I tried to stop the node on the BTC one but the same issue persists so it's not because of the node running...

Again not sure what is causing that, it's really just random.
Both miners are next to each other so they share the same connectivity and environment.

Edit: Also, it's too bad that the activity LED is not the same as the LTC miner (flashing red/yellow light when mining). When I see flashing red only I think there is a problem Smiley

How solid is your internet connection.

Ever since covid and lots of stay at.home workers I get many I internet dropouts

I use a chrome browser  app that tracks drop outs
Sometimes I get 20  thirty second drop outs in a day.

So if the drop out is long say 1 minute the node stops and the miner stops.
Once I get off the exercise bike I will show the log.

Add to list below for who wants in or arrange payout list /addresses/users? How should we proceed?

Scroll back a few pages and you will find a few trusted folks who managed a few solo-runs, Phill might also be interested, most folks have not been so active here recently so you might PM them and get them to post here, by all means, both the funds and the address to which the potential block would go to must be owned by one of those folks.

Thanks I sent PM to Phil. This is my latest stats for Ckpool. Need a Share in the trillions😧.
Does anyone have larger size Best Shares out there I can see?

100  Other / Meta / Re: frodocooper nolonger a mod, what could have happened? on: June 09, 2021, 06:36:33 PM
Do not know what it pays or if it pays but it would be okay by me to do either one.
In addition to being recommended here, do you think you should go through the registration process to be able to take up the job? I've never seen someone apply to be a mod of a section, I'm curious if it's really the next one. I'm curious if it actually works out in a way I don't know yet, I don't think theymos will pm and ask if someone wants to take this job, he will?
Note I am on the road thus I use this account. Not the main one.
I have zero problem about kyc if kyc is needed.
I simply did not know frodo's departure was going to happen.

While I sometimes did not like frodo's handling of some of my posts he worked hard at the job.

As to the alt coin mining thread and or the btc mining thread it can be difficult deciding what should go where.

Spam is another story it should go bye bye.
