82  Economy / Service Announcements / Re: Cryptopia Cryptocurrency Platform Services and Development on: April 08, 2020, 12:33:05 PM
This is good news in a shit situation.
https://twitter.com/Cryptopia_NZ/status/1247765372444409859

https://www.grantthornton.co.nz/globalassets/1.-member-firms/new-zealand/pdfs/cryptopia/civ-2019-409-000544---ruscoe-and-moore-v-cryptopia-limited-in-liquidation.pdf

It means that is you own xyz coin it is held separate from abc coin. It is not such good news for creditors of the company or holders of coins that were affected by the hack.

From my understanding it means that the losses are not socialized but each coin category owns the coins that are held by the company in trust for those coin owners and will be need to be returned as coins rather than $.

New Zealand law views crypto as property rather than currency. This does give stronger ownership protection.

The most important paragraph of the ruling.

As I predicted in May 2019:

Ah, that's pretty good news tbh! I never did KYC (I still have access to my email address and I remember my login) and I live in the US though, will that affect that?
83  Economy / Service Announcements / Re: Cryptopia Cryptocurrency Platform Services and Development on: April 06, 2020, 04:32:31 PM
We know the database is 100% accurate. It was maintained precisely by the Cryptopia staff.

What you should have then added to that statement was : It was maintained precisely by the Cryptopia staff who, when the wallets were drained of funds, were unable to stop the theft of users' funds over a two week period when multiple thefts occurred and then phoned the police to report that a theft had occurred.

They also opened up withdrawals and accepted deposits again, only for the exchange to go offline indefinitely. I kinda want to say it's shady at the very least and it helped perhaps owners and shareholders (this is my speculation btw) to get some of their funds off the exchange, but I don't think there's any proof of it. I had around 0.0033 btc or so left on the exchange for trading and took the rest off during that period. It would be cool to get it back one day, but i'm erring on the side of caution and writing it off for the foreseeable future.

I really do hope everyone gets their funds back one day though.
84  Economy / Service Announcements / Re: Cryptopia Cryptocurrency Platform Services and Development on: April 06, 2020, 04:29:02 PM
You are fucking deluded if you think Binance will in any way return anything back to a pissly little exchange in the middle of nowhere. They don't give a flying fuck.CZ is taking over the crypto world and will rightly tell the liquidators to go fuck themselves knowing they have no jurisdiction to do anything to Binance.

Harsh, but I agree lol.

The issue is that with this whole legal mess, it looks like its turning into another mt.gox...so, even though I lost some funds in the exchange i'm not really expecting my money back for a long time.
85  Economy / Service Announcements / Re: Crex24.com - Cryptocurrency Exchange [Official Thread] (Fiat deposit/withdrawal) on: April 06, 2020, 04:27:24 PM
Is there any way to withdraw bitcoin without sending personal ID (KYC)  ?
Not sure, but I don't think administrators check this thread honestly.
Since this exchange has been outed as a high-risk exchange listing any kind of scam, they have gone dark. Avoid trading and listing here.

Yup. For the people having problems with this exchange, I really hope that everything works out. It would really be nice if the exchange staff could make comments on the state of things with the exchange since, considering how it looks now, its pretty bad from a public relations perspective.
86  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: What the heck is happening to new projects? on: April 04, 2020, 10:31:25 AM
Since I've ranked up to junior member I decide to start my bounty hunting journey and after spending hours on bounty section on this forum I was shocked that no single bounty is of high quality and worth my time, all I see is projects going for crap exchanges like ChainX and another one called leadwallet that wants to raise fund using ChainX and all team members are Nigerians, really? And many members are promoting such project? The good projects are over or I'm missing something?

Aren't there bounty projects that list on gate.io, binance, okex, huobi ? ChainX, p2pb2b, exmarket and others like these exchanges will only drag the project down, are bounty hunters blind or just too stupid to do research?

Bounty today is different from a few years ago because many new projects that are scam or projects cannot reach sales targets. But there are still some projects that in my opinion are good and doing IEO on exchangers is considered good

Pretty much this. 99% of new projects / bounties / airdrops are scams or shady. It's all about finding that 1% that has the potential to be a success.
87  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Traders need to learn on: April 04, 2020, 09:17:44 AM
One of the core troubles accustomed to traders of crypto currency is their mindset.

Believe me, as a trader, you need to be confident and always trade to win and make profits.

Never have it in mind that you are trading to lose, develop a strong mentality and always dyor

Your mindsets determines what you see on a trade chart anytime

This is very important yes. One thing alot of traders do is let their emotions play a part in their trades. When you're trading, you need to trade with the mentality that you should try to sell as high as you can, and if you see an opening, you should try to take it. Alot of people say "hodl!" especially when their favorite project goes up sharply during a pump event / sharp price rise (as an example), but you can often sell on the rise and buy back when the project drops. It's also important to be mindful of events when trading. New exchange listings, coin burns (seems to happen alot lately with smaller projects to boost price), new milestones, etc all tend to affect the price of various projects as well.
88  Economy / Service Announcements / Re: Crex24.com - Cryptocurrency Exchange [Official Thread] (Fiat deposit/withdrawal) on: April 04, 2020, 09:12:49 AM
Do you have a crex24 account?
If you do not have an account, do not open a new one?
Because the transaction volume has narrowed.
There are 5000 members under the stock exchange.
That figure is a lie because 4990 enters for the faucet.
They also crawled those with high btc shots before.
Those who have the money loaded inside have already fled.
Definitely stay away.
The crex24 member who is already looking at the subject has not listened to
the bitcontalk that has recently entered 15-02-2020.

Ya, the faucet is nice for free coins but honestly considering that the staff pretty much never check this thread, I would never put my money on this exchange. With the ramped up KYC and support issues, it seems like its more trouble than its worth honestly.

Holland was banned.
So how do we attract the money inside?
Do not use this exchange.
negative trust was given.

Yikes, I hope someone from the team checks this thread eventually. I'm still questioning about the 1.3b transfer back in feb...pretty sure it was a hack lol
91  Economy / Service Announcements / Re: Crex24.com - Cryptocurrency Exchange [Official Thread] (Fiat deposit/withdrawal) on: March 31, 2020, 12:30:54 PM
Does anyone from the team check this thread?
92  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Which altcoins will grow in price faster if the market recovers? on: March 31, 2020, 12:30:22 PM
I have to agree that market tokens that are famously known already can easily recover when the marker recovers. Im pretty sure Binance will increase its price even though the market got hit pretty bad, I admire their whole team especially their CEO, which is very active not just on releasing new features but also sharing their wealth to those who are in need and affected by the pandemic virus. You can truly see how devoted and generous Binance in every aspect.

Tokens or coins that are already well-known or are in the top 50 coinmarketcap will quickly recover because they have large transactions and also a fairly solid community. Community is one of the important elements so that prices can rise again because it involves investor confidence in the project being undertaken
Agree with you, when the market recovers, the top altcoins in coinmarketcap will recover the fastest and most powerful. Because they are the best altcoins and are considered and held by many investors, they also have a great volume to motivate traders.

Yep, I Agree with this alot. Typically when people look for projects to invest in, they check CMC. Pretty much all of the coins listed on high volume exchanges such as Binance should have some good movement. Coins like LTC and others that are tied to bitcoin also tend to do especially well during peaks (and fall during troughs).
93  Economy / Service Announcements / Re: Spending-bitcoin.com - The biggest directory of online stores accepting Bitcoin! on: March 29, 2020, 09:28:55 PM
You did not include escrow sites such as Bitify.com, Localbitcoin,Paxful or any of the trading platforms.

Anyone can add any site by submitting it using the form on-site, and it will be listed after "quick review". So whatever you think is missing you can add on your own, but the owner does not seem to have been active for the past month (in forum), and he locked his thread which has attracted far more attention than this one.

I hope it's just a vacation or some private commitments, it would be a shame for one such project to fail.

The topic was closed by a moderator, we have no idea why. We're still very active and currently working on a big update. Regarding the escrow websites, we're focusing on websites where you can spend bitcoins. Websites that offer trading, P2P exchanges, BTC <-> shitcoin swaps etc. are not what we're trying to promote.

I found this while looking on the site, and I am a bit intrigued. First I want to offer my thoughts / criticisms on your project. The website seems pretty clean and attractive, so I think that's a plus. But I do have some concerns about the vetting process for such a large number of websites. Can each of those websites be considered legitimate? The information of where to find the websites is good in my opinion, but for safety practices, a good vetting process should be established imo.

I am sorry to see that it was removed by a moderator though. It seems like you worked really hard on the project. I hope they will keep this thread up and discuss ways that you can move forward with promoting it here if needed since it seems like a really good contribution for crypto.
94  Economy / Service Announcements / Re: Crex24.com - Cryptocurrency Exchange [Official Thread] (Fiat deposit/withdrawal) on: March 27, 2020, 04:00:16 PM
It is very bad that there is no chat telegram for communication with the support service. There is only an information telegram channel. Very very bad.

Yep. I was actually hoping that a team member or employee could give clarification about the 1.3b HTMLCoin movement, but doesn't seem to be any staff checking this thread.

96  Economy / Scam Accusations / Re: [SCAM] VaccinaCoin- another attempt to profit from Corona virus situation on: March 22, 2020, 05:02:29 PM
What happened:  VaccinaCoin is just another attempt to profit from current Corona virus situation. They took 2 articles, copied it, added few of their sentences, and now they are trying to raise the money for vaccine. But we all know where that money will end.

lol in all fairness, bomb was the same way with tons of clones and random projects based on it springing up everywhere with people trying to get rich quick. I think in general, people make tokens / coins for almost anything. I do wonder why some people bet big investments on such projects though...
97  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Tokens (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] 🐋 WhaleCoin - A nice coin for traders and gamblers 🎲 on: March 22, 2020, 05:00:06 PM
Obviously this token is a scam, just take a look at this guy's most recent token, VaccinaCoin... what a lowlife.

Goddamn right!
What to call someone who is trying to profit from someone else's misfortune? They may be the dirtiest scammers of all because these people don’t appreciate anything. Yet, some people will do just that. I am glad to see that DT members are taking the appropriate actions.

Hmm...I haven't really drawn much judgement about this project yet, but I am curious to see whether it turns out to be a good project or not. Can't really say I enjoy / like the concept 100% and I can't really find much in terms of development so far. Perhaps someone could enlighten me more about this project?
98  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Tokens (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][ICO]COSS Token Swap ICO is LIVE on: March 22, 2020, 04:41:09 PM
Seems like the platform is back online, that seems like good news. Does this mean that everything is good with COSS token now?
99  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Token burning on: March 22, 2020, 04:27:20 PM
Token burning is a good way to increase the value of the coin, but it will requires more money for the team to buy the coin from the market.
Usually the token burning will happening if the project have enough funds to buyback the token and burn them.

Isn't it possible for new projects to have pre-allocated funds that can be burnt rather than doing a market buy though?

Also it should be possible to have a deflationary mechanism built in too where each transaction destroys a bit of the supply (i.e, bomb token).
100  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: A crypto coin that rallied despite the market downturn on: March 22, 2020, 04:22:37 PM
A new well know project on this forum is few months back have managed to caught my attention because it rallied this month despite the widespread Bitcoin and crypto market downturn.

Tachyon Protocol IPX is the project, it went from 0.0539 on March 1st to 0.0971, that's a 80% jump, I'm really impressed, it's been long since I see a new project performing this good, a round of applause to the team

To be honest, I never heard of this project before, so went ahead and looked it up. It seems pretty cool.
