The last time the NEM BTC price was this low was around March 2017 just before the first ATH two months later in May 2017 to 11000+ Satoshis.

Small tech update Part of our technology department focuses on #sig-api and has been working on supported SDKs (TS/JS & soon-to-be Java) with the focus on improving Catapult usability for client implementations. With many bugfixes/feature addons in the TS/JS SDK during the month of April, the nem2-sdk 5 NPM package 1 is now at version 0.11.5 with only few missing features. The Java SDK has progressed in its cow-compatibility upgrade as well and we are looking forward for more contributions and a soon-to-come version upgrade :+1: With regards to #sig-client, we have been working on multiple NIP definitions and reference implementations, with following excerpt: NIP-6: Multi-Account Hierarchy for Deterministic Wallets 4: HD Wallets NIP with reference/proposal implementation at: evias/nem2-hd-wallets 2. The last ATH wasn't fueled by fundamentals or how well the foundation was managed. It was based on speculation and fomo, plus a bit of pumping from the WeChat rumor. The whole of the crypto market was pumped during that time on the back of the BTC highs and additional liquidity from selling off of free forked BCH. When the whole market has large price rises in the future, NEM will also rise along with the other alts.
Any technical enhancements and Catapult release will be a bonus.

When there are gains, they'll be more sustainable based on the merits, fundamentals and adoption. More so when further technical developments occur later this year.
When this is combined with the gradual increase in speculation following on from next years BTC halving in May 2020, plus more institutional as well as retail investors, ETFs, MSM coverage, etc. In the long term I can envisage the price of most robust blockchains like NEM surpassing previous ATHs.
In the short to medium term need to see BTC breaching the $5.6K and then $6.6K resistance levels.

Doesn't really matter which place the cryptos are on CMC. The markets are based on speculation, when the last bull run happened. It's hard for NEM to come back to top 10.
I don't think that's going to be possible. There are much worse projects higher up but they're slowly carving their place in the minds of the public and that doesn't go away. Nem's ability to capture hearts and minds is non existent still after all these years. It's had five years to be 'discovered'. I'm sure the price can be much higher than it is at present in future, but it's not dislodging the projects at the tippy top. The developers would say that's not relevant and for their purposes and reasoning it's true. I just checked the history of NEM and this had a capitalization of 1 mio at one point? And it went up to 15 bil? Oh my god... This is like truly insane for this who held their coins all the way. but not for the ones who didn't sell at the top  If you have been early into NEM you wouldn't even have to have sold at the top and still could have made a fortune. Now the price NEM, as the entire cryptocurrency market is at the bottom , but I think everything will change NEM has a great potential for growth . If you have a look at the market capitalization and don't compare it to the ATH, it is still a good achievement where it is today. Agree, but selling a stake for $4.5M sounds better than at $100K. But yes, $100K is lifechanging money for some. |

BTC is higher as well as total market cap of all coins on CMC just now. If BTC can break through 4200, seeing a bull run forming. I think positive sentiment will be there leading up to the next BTC halving next year and after halving. Not many people will sell, hodling, causing further price increases and demand.

It does say in point 4 that the foundation will fund NEM Labs, unless I misunderstood.

You misunderstood. That's point 4 of their rejection. It invites them to apply as a bog standard service provider. So that point along with the other ones were points stating why the NEM labs Team were unable to convince the majority of the Core Team. However, it still stands that the Foundation will be funding NEM Labs with some of the 25M XEM of their funding towards Catapult development and Public chain launch this year: "Nearly all of the NEM Labs resources allocated to launching the catapult public chain can and will be funded by the NEM Foundation". |

Can see testing of market. I think within the next two months gradual bull run starting approx a year before next BTC block reward halving. After block halving in May 2020 there will be consolidation, then approx 12 - 18 months after May 2020 will be next ATH. NEM and a lot of other cryptos will rise on the back of BTC. Founders had announced that NEM team got only couple of months till all funds needed for operation and development of the project will be depleted. Has been there any positive news lately?
That announcement was around 1 month ago. Since then there has been a vote put to the community by the foundation for the required funding. The community voted to provide the funding, there will be updates forthcoming on the NEM website. What kind of returns could I expect, say I had 10k investments and started harvesting, how many xems could I get?
You'd earn ~400 XEM a day plus harvesting fees if you invest 33 BTC (at today's price) in a supernode. 33 BTC for a supernode? Is there too much money? It depends on the price of XEM and BTC, in January 2018 the price was approx 380 BTC (~$3M), but that was at the ATH. Think of it as an investment, you receive around 3.65% ROI. I disagree. I think we both are supporters of NEM. A project like NEM needs a unit or organization that developes a common strategy and manages all the worldwide events and activities. However, such a bloated organization as it was in 2018 is wrong. In addition, interested companies in NEM-tech need a single point of contact. That's why the organization has a meaningful and import task. I really like how the reorganization, improvement and future plans and transparently presented by Alexandra Tinsman in a recent video. 100% agree. |
