Given the critical role that electricity plays in the development of society, why do the leaders of those developing nations either not prioritize solving their energy-related issues or seem content with the status quo?
Using a personal solar panel to turn on a generator is the only way to survive.
Usually corruption issues. You can look at the entire African continent and find that the majority are living without electricity or without a reliable source of cheap and sustainable electricity. As such, their economies are under developed. Cheap energy is the blood of any economy. You get rid of it and you can count on economic growth being stunted. And of course, pertinent to some of us, Bitcoin adoption becomes harder. |

Humans are wired to crave dopamine. There's a biological drive for humans take hard drugs but we usually reason against it because of the side effects and opt for safer sources of dopamine.
A society that's deteriorating with lack of culture has a higher incidence of drug use. It's sad to see.
What do you exactly mean with "lack of culture"? Did you mean lack of education instead? Because I don't see where the correlation between culture and consumption of hard drugs is, to be honest. The United States could easily be one of the countries with the most culture (because of the influence of immigrants from all over the world) and yet, they are the top consumer of hard drugs on the planet. On the other hand, it is true we all human beings are by design ways looking for sources of dopamine, but that does not mean we will go all in for the sake of it and directly step into the realm of hard drugs and opioids. People very desperate to feel anything are those who are the easiest to fall victim of those heavily addicted substances. And once they are in, it is difficult to go out. No, I mean a lack of culture. |

This came at the tail end when he knew it was a lost cause and was forced to say outlandish things as a last ditch effort.
by outlandish you mean "not a good idea" or "an idea with merit but probably wont happen"? Ted Cruz recited the same lines in 2016.
they should be held accountable for saying things and not following through. especially if they get into office. there should be a stiff penalty.  The United States is a country which tries to keep their annual inflation at 2%, printing more buck for them not to tax people would make inflation to go up way beyond those 2 percent.
but people would keep all their money. imagine how much more money people would have in their bank accounts. plus no more complicated tax returns. priceless As in an idea with merit but probably won't happen. Americans have no idea how much power they've given their executive branch over the last decades. The IRS is just a weaponization tool against the common working man. The elites will pay whoever they need to pay to work around the system because they can afford it. |

Milei's suggested he would replace Argentinian pesos with USD while at the same time being critical of the central banks. Doesn't make sense.
For logistical reasons I suppose he isn't in a position to suggest Argentinians adopt Bitcoin, they're a cash based society more than some other western countries. Though you do not solve the problem of central banks by kicking out one and replacing it with another.

Possibility for Iran to intervene, but unlikely.
Iran's hopes was to disrupt relations between Israel and Arab countries by destroying diplomatic ties that were established through the Abraham accords. One can assume they began planning an attack of this caliber, using Hamas as a proxy, when the accords were signed in 2020. Certainly after the Negev Summit Iran knew they needed to attack Israel.
Houthis have already attacked Israeli targets. Hezbollah remains on standby.

Hospital ships may be a good plan, if they could be guaranteed safety. Hamas will steal resources given to the Palestinian people in order to use for their benefit. If the ships are ran by some NGO or human rights organization, medical aid could be targeted towards civilians.

The banks are better at hiding terrorism funds than something like Bitcoin would ever be. Every BTC transaction's logged and public. Wouldn't be difficult for large amounts of BTC to be traced to certain addresses controlled by terror organizations
Meanwhile, Banks will funnel funds into criminal organizations and the banks won't disclose any of the transactions.

Ways to reduce debt:
1.) Raise taxes
2.) Raise GDP
3.) Reduce spending.
Politically inconvenient to do #1 and #3, so the U.S. could try to grow the economy and generate more revenue.
But as revenue increases, so does the spending. It's almost a never ending cycle.
What can the U.S. do about its debt, then? The answer is not much.

If you want to determine whether a war affects the global economy, examine a few things -- One being the GDP of involved countries, two being the total import and export products/volumes, and three being geographical locations (whether the country's near shipping corridors or critical airspace for flight logistics).
And so with that, it shouldn't pose that large of a threat. Israel has a high GDP, Palestine does not. And Israel could effectively wipe Palestine off the map if they wish.
Israel's calling this a "war" for PR purposes and to rally countries around them. Is it really a war when one side is so outmatched?
So, one has to wonder, if they are so powerful, why haven't they wiped the arabs off the map after 60 years of conflict? What do you think is keeping Palestine from total destruction? If it's not a war then what is it, cat chasing mouse? Because innocent civilians would get caught in the crossfire. |
