Can somebody fill me in on what the dev team is currently focusing their time/effort on? From my understanding I would assume you're still working on: 1. andriod wallet application 2. fine tuning FIAT/Veri 3.  ? Any update would be great and appreciated. Thank. No Fud here just my personal opinion...which is, I find it scary that the price continues to decline esecially once the devs released the fiat wallet today. This reminds me of the BC decline, where the releases and new featues had little effect on the price. Not a good sign.
I share your concerns. I've been watching Vericoin for about 1.5 months now. Got in around the beginning of the big pump a month ago, not that low though, around 40k. Since then I've been watching it bounce around having its ups and downs and have been purchasing more and more at each dip thinking it cant go any lower, but then it does, so I buy more =P Now it's as low as I've seen it, 25k, I've lost a considerable percentage of my investment, I'm about ready to just cash out and go back to day trading other currencies.. I won't though, I'll stick it out a bit longer at least! What I'm curious about is the Verifund. I don't really understand what it is or how it works. I've seen the graph on the website, it really doesn't explain much, the dynamic interest is simple enough, but the Verifund aspect of it is a mystery to me. I understand the multippol mines other coins to purchase Veri to pay out to miners, but what about the verifund? If someone could shed some light on exactly what the Verifund is and how it works etc that would be most welcome =) The VeriFund is the vehicle for collecting coins, money, and spendables. The resources of the Verifund are to be allocated by the Dev's for bounties, project development or anything else which might need funding and are deemed to be in the best interest of VeriCoin by the Dev's. |

[...]What we could use is a dedicated news blog updated once a week, with Vericoin updates and developments. The DEVs could have a quick chat with who is responsible for writing for the site once a week. That way we could have a steady stream of info in one place instead of trying to find news on the forum or IRC.
What do you guys think? I was thinking about this just a few hours ago. It'd be really nice to have a single place to go to find the latest developments AND coin stats. There's a lot of information available about VeriCoin, but it's scattered between a number of websites, the forum, and IRC. I'd love to see a single site (single page, really) that we can all go to for the latest: - News/Developments
- Roadmap
- Current number of coins in existence
- Current number of coins staking
- Current market capizalization
- Current 24 hour volume
- Current price at the top 5 exchanges
- Current volume at the top 5 exchanges
Marshaling folks to keep the thread for each topic current would be imperative.
How do we mobilize the Vericoin community to do it? |

This can be put simply
Vericoin Dev Trust = Gone
Mintpal Team Trust= Gone
My trust in the Dev's has increased exponentially becuse of their response to the knuckle heads attempts to trash an exchange and steal from others. Satoshi said. 3 things needed for commerce. Buy, Seller, Trusted 3rd party Fiats are the trusted 3rd party. With crypto, The coin is the trusted 3rd party and by default that makes the Dev's the trusted 3rd party Dev's are in charge of a coin. If the Dev's are active (Which has been a problem) they can intercede in extreme cases of manipulation or wrong doing as occurred yesterday on "Blue Sunday" Crypto coin developers can be more nimble. The Fed couldn't ever implement some thing the VeriCoin has in such rapid fashion. Hooray for our Dev's VeriCoinLives Long Live Vericoin! How do you get into the radio website chat room, doesn't work for me..It just says connecting and hangs. Can hear them doing giveaways, but I cant even get in ;( Channel is down, I tried to connect through the wallet using #vrcradio and the message is channel down.
There was a problem with the Channel. It was taken care of by our technicians WHILE we were and remained broadcasting.
This is why you test.
We will continue in Beta until the Techs tell me we're solid
Then and only then will we move to Gamma Status
All awards/free VRC are sent to the wallet as soon as the DJ can manage.
The last batch that went out today to make the promised Total of 500 were sent and in the winners wallet before we went off the air.
We will be keeping to this standard.

But more like it will be in as a near as we can bring the future. Also seems to meld with what the dev's were alluding too during the Hangout. Especially Effects. pnosker says he wants to get an ATM in the Capitol of every country. The price issue will take care of itself if we establish Trust. VeriCoin needs to be the "TRUSTED THIRD PARTY". The dev's have got it all set to roll. Can use it anywhere BTC is used for now ( We need folks to say do U take VeriCoin?) but it gives us a leg up on spendability. Verisms, turnss all the phones into terminals, Soon U'll be able to buy, spend, and transfer from your phone. ATMs get U fiat for VRC I'm all in with this coin for the above reasons However Our Dev's R the key ingrediant. fully agree but you cannot deny pricechart which reflects market mood. Only fool would expect something above 0.0004 today or tomorrow. Actualy without these fools and believers we would be somewhere at 0.0002 level. This is cruel but this is crypto jungle. If you will not take care you will be eaten and forgotten my friend. Lions and whales are all around us you cannot fight with them Ha! Thanks for the PSA but I prefer hard facts, progress and community involvement over pumped up trading advice from a nobody. This community has had just about enough of you. Move along. ain't it the truth! |

In case anyone is thinking about veripool (pool.vericoin.info), don't bother it's not worth it. Experimented by pointing a 1Th/s sha-256 miner at it for 24 hours and got $1.50 usd (5.63 vrc) worth of vericoin. Supposedly they mine an anonymous coin and then exchange it for vericoin and split it up in the pool. Whatever the multipool 256 coin was, I found 7 blocks of it, but the return sucked. Someone in another thread alleged that the pool operator may be skimming, so be warned. Your best bet is to just mine BTC (or whatever else) and then exchange for vericoin.
Also, yes, I know vericoin is a proof of stake coin, I just wanted to test the exchange pool to see what it was like.
I hope you have some kind of proof of your allegations. He'd need proof for the allegations if he himself was alleging this. He's just telling us what he heard on another thread. But to the core of his post, as he illustrated, is pretty correct. I've pointed about 25Mh/s Scrypt for almost a half a day and got proportionally, what he's describing.
They know the pool needs work and will get around to it.
It only went beta a short time ago. It was in Alpha for quite awhile
The multipool has been available and VeriSend-SMS, with anon option, VeriBit, new wallet releases incorprating these features fullfilled promises they made to the community.
They have also done multiple interviews, arranged with the help of a generous VRC community a PR Firm, raised funds to go to the NABC meeting in chicago on 19 July. okayed a First edition physical 1 Troy OZ. .99 silver VeriCoin with holgraphic chip that can be used to store VRC.
I can't speak for pnosker but I belive he would tell U the pool is "Raggadey" and he's not happy with it. But the Dev's have prioritzed things and all will be fine sooner or later.
I don't know how they do it really. All 3 work fulltime jobs. From FaceBook it looks like Effect has a Family. all 3 R constantly present answering question and Squashing FUD"sters, like a bug in their code. All 3 do this with aplomb and pnosker is like a bear protecting the cubs.
So The pool isn't a Ferrari yet it's a Fiesta. I'm good with that, going down the road with these guys at their speed. I trust their judgements as to where and on what they spend their time
But that's just me...
