Yesterday late evening EST the 1.1.1 version of the Wallet was released by Effects to Cause who is nothing short of a wizard in my book

I was thinking that he would post a notice on this thread. I checked a few times . It wasn't done as far as I know.

In hindsight I should have followed my instinct and put up a link to it here. I did not. I will try to be more proactive in the future.

I'm a newbie, and in this NEW world of crypto U R a grizzeled veteran. (Probably why U r hangin')

The concepts and plans for VeriCoinis is what got me involved.

BUT my Wallet is Functioning like a fine swiss watch, and that was before the 1.1.1 was needed

Almost all of VeriCoiners were victimized by the earlier problems and lost coins on wrong forks. Even the Dev's weren't immune.

If anyone can succeed in the crypto world it's this group of folks.

They admit their short comings and get to work on the solution. and can always be found on IRC and have responded to me immediatley every time.

Dev's monitoring  and address any issues that may occur

Personally I'm keeping my Wallet open 100% of the time .

 First for the overall health and stability of the network. I'm told this helps in these matters but I'm not sure why

Second ,Now that I've got an updated wallet on the correct Block Chain, I want to stay on it.

Third it allows me to observe how staking works and learn about the crypto world

I am receiving "Staking interest/coins" @ irregular intervals as my coins "mature" R paid and R transferred  between "Spendable" and "Staking" and the interest being "Unconfirned" until it is DUH! Confirmed

You have to have a completly empty vericoin file

Firstly--- Make a Back up of your present wallet.dat

Go to http://www.vericoin.info/ and download the appropriate wallet update. This is mandatory.

It is essential U R using 1.1. If u r U will C "1.1" below the coin icon when your wallet is loading. If U don't C it your r not using 1.1

Then

If u r positive u r on 1.1

you can try this

Close your wallet

1. Go to  %appdata%/roaming/vericoin
2. Delete everything in vericoin including wallet.dat and conf
3. Close now empty vericoin
4. Start 1.1    Vericoin.qt (That's the wallet)
5. Let  sync to completion. you'll probably have a zero balance
6.Close Wallet
7. go back to %appdata%/roaming/vericoin
8. Delete wallet.dat in vericoin
9. replace with Wallet.dat U copied earlier
10.Close vericoin
11. Start wallet
12. When it sync's to completion your Balances will be correct. Any coins u thought you had r gone and not recovererable. They were mined on an incorrect fork. U r not alone many folks including me lost coins this way. It's part of the risk U take playing the crypto game. Those coins never really existed.
13. If This procedure doesn't work go to

Before I go and delete some  posts I've have made on this thread I want to set the record straight.

After much work and help from pnosker and  effects to cause We discovered during a mammouth 1 on 1 help session I was not using the down load 1.1

I thought I was

But I wasn't

If you R having wallet problems or haven't updated yet

Go to http://www.vericoin.info/

download and unzip, when the wallet window appears make sure the wallet you see has the 1.1 on it

The patience, time and effort shown me by the Dev's of Vericoin is a Stellar example of how to run a crypto coin site

My oversight, mistake , or lack of knowledge as in Newbie. I'm a Newbie. I hope I don't turn into a NOOB.

My comments on this thread since the issuance of the 1.1 Update have been based on my screw-up.

I've been investing my time and money in the crypto currency world for just short of a month.

Once upon a time a long, long, time ago I was a programmer. I'm an end user now. I probably wouldn't be able to make heads or tails when comparing any code.

  ::)Never mind the extreme coding which makes the  crypto-currency universe spin.

I believe the concept Satashoi envisioned is the answer to the difficulties which plague our reality.

 In the 3 weeks I've been actively involved with Altcoins, I've learned the guys who put me onto this stuff weren't kidding when they told me to watch out it was the "Wild West".

I've run into some out and out scammers and some great folks too. Just like the real world Satoshi is trying to deal  with in his "Genius System"

Imho Vericoin is all good with great ideas and blends of Altcoin inovations, with concerned, knowledgeable, and helpul dev's that R putting maximum effort into their Vericoin enterprise'

I haven't seen any coin Launch" smoothly, without incident. Hash Farms with incomprehensible amounts of Hash in their arsenal attack, or
manipulate price routinley on new issues when they're most vulnerable.

Vericoin has weathered the storm and my belief in it extended to  me selling off a large % of the coins I'd mined since the start and buying Vericoin.

Then 25% went poof! I remained patient but after more and more of the same problems' (Forking & Wallet syncing) I've change course as is learnable in my recent posts.

Transparency, trust, and a performing product r the keys to any business venture. VeriCoin ALMOST has it all and my hope is they end up on Alpha-Centuri.

I'm holding a small bag and may do some trading in VeriCoin,

Learned a lot from these guys on the IRC and this board. I'm gonna study up on how to follow "Block Chains" so I can make better decsions on what I think is going on?

I could be missing out on a great coin and $$$$$$ but so be it.

To many problems for me to have faith

Rob-Mob - POW ended yesterday. The devs would know what time and block.

U could have been mining on a Bad fork in which case you never really had any Coins.

This was a very promising coin but the Wallet is rife with bugs.
Massive hasn spikes in the early hours of mining might have been set things on the course it ended up on.

or Maybe the recent problem "Test Bug" (A reliable, knowlegeable and helpful, presence on IRC) was FUD due to who knows what.

I took a small profit from this coin and still hold a small bag.

But this coin had so much PROMISE. I really thought it was goin' over the moon.

It may still hit the outer reachs.

I have been patient.
Even after getting on a bad fork and losing 25%  of my Bag.

I have received great assistance on this board and IRC.

However ---- The wallet problem continues to plague Vericoin.

I'm keeping 25% of the VRC I have left and selling the rest.
