1  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Could the NSA got our privkeys or something with heartbleed? on: April 11, 2014, 11:19:03 PM
What I do know is that heartbleed is dreadful. I can't begin to tell you how many sophos utms I've patched in the last 48 hours. This is exhausting.

3  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: 1BTC or 1oz of Gold. Which one would you take? on: April 07, 2014, 02:19:21 AM
If it's equal value btc vs gold I would take the gold any day of the week. I love btc don't get me wrong but gold has been around for a very, very long time.

Btc has a lot of threats these days. I just like knowing the gold I own is not susceptible to something as crazy as a solar flare. You never know what could happen one day. We're all gonna look really silly one day if there's no electricity but we have our flash drives and paper wallets. Not saying something like that is going to happen but ya never know.

If the shit hits the fan one day I like knowing that my kids and wife have a shot because my safe contains gold and ammo.

6  Economy / Service Discussion / Blockchain.info 2FA SMS limit on: March 22, 2014, 01:46:58 PM
Has anyone else seen this before? I can't login to blockchain because my 2fa SMS has received too many text messages for the day. Ugh! Placed a support ticket but damn man I wish they gave some kind of a warning that says hey you only have two texts left today. I would have used google auth if I knew this. I'm sure nothing nefarious is going on it just sucks. I love the service they provide but being limited to my funds is silly. The vast majority of my coins are cold storage. Keep some there for playing around with.

Does anyone know if it's 24 hours since the last text message they sent? I have no counter or timer so I'm just trying every few hours. I hope by tying again I'm not resetting the timer.
7  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Friendz, Please learn before you earn on: March 22, 2014, 01:39:20 PM
Strange fishy thread.

He's saying it's fishy because it absolutely is. A bizarre "public service announcement" and oh by the way come to my website advertised in the same post to earn free bitcoin. I 100% agree with him, this is bizarre.
8  Economy / Web Wallets / Re: Blockchain.info - Bitcoin Block explorer & Currency Statistics on: March 22, 2014, 03:25:37 AM
I'm trying to place a support request right now @ https://blockchain.zendesk.com/registration for an issue. Could they make the captcha at least REMOTELY FUCKING POSSIBLE for a human? I am literally on try number 42.

10  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin insurance on: March 21, 2014, 06:57:04 PM
i see this happening very easily:

i lost all my bitcoins, i had 1million of them. the thief moved them from 1yyyyyyyyyyyyyyyy to this address 1xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx
and now my 1yyyyyyyyyyyyyy is empty. lets make a claim

<receive 1million coins>

.. now to use the private key i have secretly stashed away for the 1xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx that i pretended not to own.

<3 claims later from random people>

insurance company have no more new insurance premiums's coming because the openly viewable insurance wallet is now empty. they can no longer guarantee payouts and everyone asks for a refund of their premium.

insurance company is now bankrupt

now tell me how will an insurance company prove or disprove a theft and that thief is not also the claimant

This is exactly why they can't be insured

13  Bitcoin / Mining speculation / Re: people buying used miners on: March 19, 2014, 02:32:48 PM
For what it's worth, I agree with you. The novelty / geeky-fun factor is what is relevant here. Some people would run these things even if there was no hope of a profit. That there is one (hope of a profit) makes it all the more appealing.

14  Bitcoin / Mining speculation / Re: people buying used miners on: March 19, 2014, 05:17:57 AM
I'm not saying he will have 1btc. I'm saying what if one = 50k in years to come. For a USB miner and just letting it roll, it's kind of like their own little mini faucet. That $10 investment was insanely easy to make and could generate a good return. I'm just trying to say some people wanna dabble in mining and see what happens without going balls deep. What have they lost if it craters?
15  Bitcoin / Mining speculation / Re: people buying used miners on: March 19, 2014, 03:20:42 AM
What if they buy this and just let that mofo roll and go long term. Would they be stupid if in 2020 1BTC=$50,000 USD?
