3  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: What's the difference between Offline & Online wallets ? on: September 10, 2014, 10:50:32 AM
Online wallet is not secure if you don't set up all security futures and offline wallet is 100 procent secure if you don't download any viruses or keyloggers to your computer. I would suggest using online wallet for everyday use because you don't have to update your blockchain each time which takes a while but mainly use desktop wallet for your main funds or even cold wallet.

13  Economy / Economics / Re: Does bitcoin suffer from Gresham's law? on: September 05, 2014, 01:03:55 PM
Gresham's law implys that when given a choice between two currencies to spend, people will choose the less valuable one.
bitcoin, being the ultimate form of money suffers from this effect (much the same as gold).
if i can buy something using fiat or using bitcoin ill choose fiat, because fiat depreciates rapidly and bitcoin is valuable and rare.

if I'll pay with bitcoin I'll have to go through the hassle of converting fiat to bitcoin to compensate myself for the loss of bitcoin.

this could limit bitcoin's ability to function as a common currency and instead just serve as a store of value.

You are right bitcoin is moreover a asset and fiats are easy to use and aren't replaceable. If the assets would replace fiats why the gold didn't or the platinum Huh
14  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Predictions : Mining of new bitcoins stops tommorow on: September 05, 2014, 01:01:59 PM
What would happen if no new bitcoins are created ?
Would the ecosystem sustain itself or would we see miners leave for greener/newer pastures.
My prediction is that since bitcoin creation is slowed incrementally the last of the bitcoins wouldn't matter so much since the market would not be accustomed to constant infusion of money.
Yes the other currencies are one queue. The future is uncertain there are many other cryptos using the same algorithm as bitcoin

16  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Bitcoins with elections on: September 05, 2014, 12:58:36 PM
In US, I've heard some candidates accept BTC for donations. This really inspired me to ask myself about the electoral financing in political campaigns. The US' electoral commission is more energic when it comes to show the spending of the parties but in other countries (specially in Latin America and Africa) I say also good because withdrawing will be easier and they will have more control about their spending but it also let the door open to use some money laundering during these times or am I wrong?

What do you think about the paper of Bitcoin in elections?
If they accept bitcoin as a donation may be in the future they legalize bitcoin more supportively and help make bitcoin acceptance easy to the folks
17  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Which Wallet should be suggested to a newbie? on: September 05, 2014, 12:56:01 PM
Hi Everyone. I was wondering about your thoughts on which wallet you think can be suggested to newbies that can ensure a high level of safety. Armory is already considered but I would like to know everyones thoughts about any other wallet services...offline or online? Thanks.
There is no 100% security on any wallet unless you keep your system safe from the buggers. Many available wallets like blockchain, bitcoin core ,multi bit are the one people use the most
